I'm sure you could.
It would probably be best if you didn't bring it up right away-- the person might take it the wrong way and think they're being used or something.
Much better to spring it on them later. Shock them into acceptance.
Or, you know, let them warm up to the idea. You can screen that way, too.
If my wood needed a polish, I wouldn't want just anyone polishing it.

I don't imagine that it would be easy to force someone to polish wood. That's something that should be done with care, and if you force someone that could get violent and potentially damage the wood.

That would be a shame. Good, aged wood isn't something that you can replace just like that.
