MacPere burst into laughter, highly amused at Angeles' goals. "We-Well! I'm not sure the church would approve of two men being officially 'married'!" Wiping his eye and catching his breath back, he shook his head, still beaming.
"Besides, Grencia's always speaking of being too young to marry, and I myself am not sure if I want to marry again... It makes me wonder what Lyn would think..."
He looked to the direction Alex had called from and gave a soft smile. "Thank you..."

"Who's......" Alex thought better of it and let it go "Nothing? Are you sure you don't want, Wine or champagne...even a beer?" Alex came with a wine glass full of red wine and a beer for Jamie. "It's best to leave the past and look for the future. I'm sure Lyn will understand that you miss her" Jamie said

"I wouldn't be able to go into a church," said Angeles, taking another sip, "but I don't see why there would be an objection to a wedding outside of the inn, surrounded by nature with a backdrop of the mountains and a canopy of pure azure," she smiled a bit at the thought.
"Who is Lyn?" asked Angeles, setting her glass of blood down. She had a guess by the way he said it, but he had never spoken to her of his deceased wife before other than to say that he had been married. Gren was the one that said she had been killed in an accident. But Angeles could not be sure, Lyn could also be one of his subordinates.

James strolled downstairs, still wearing the dusty and somewhat worn labcoat from the past couple days. He had thought of everything except packing provisions for his little escape...always the most important thing that slipped his mind. At least he was clean, even if his clothes weren't, and he had what really mattered: his laptop, and more papers for Azana.
He was a bit fidgety as he went to grab himself something to drink. Azana hadn't left her room the day before, making speaking with her somewhat difficult...and it was actually important this time. As he went to sit with his drink, he recognized a few people nearby.
"Well, I can't really say I'm surprised to see you," he said to MacPere with a smirk, though he was a bit nervous around Angeles. Her skills and reputation preceded her.

"I think the idea of a nature wedding would be wonderful. Angeles one question what is the name of the panther Zulma was sleeping next to?" Alex said sipping the red wine. A mental zap hit her and Jamie and they run outside and said their good bye's They hopped on their dragon's and flew away their land needed them

MacPere sighed and smiled sadly, tapping his fingers against his thigh. "Lyn was my wife. She died during a car accident whilst she was also 7 months pregnant."
Drifting from the subject ASAP, MacPere smiled to James as he entered. "Good day to you, Mr. Taylor... You're looking a little shaken there... Care for me to get that drink for you and lend an ear~?"

Angeles eyed the man that came down carefully as she listened to MacPere's comment. When seeing that the man, Mr. Taylor as MacPere called him, seemed to be afraid of her, even slightly, she smiled. At least there was one human around with a sense of self preservation. She then looked over at Alex and said, "his name is Bladur, why do you ask?" but then the two dark elves ran away, warranting a raised eyebrow at the two of them before she ignored their departure and took another sip of blood from her glass, closing her eyes lightly.

James shrugged and took a seat. "There's not much to tell...kinda got busted by Stella and her squad, but thankfully I hadn't announced my successful teleportation prototype." He looked down sadly for a moment at where it used to be; in order to prevent tracing, he had teleported practically to the middle of nowhere...and worst of all, had to destroy his creation.
"At least I know how it works now...it shouldn't be too hard to duplicate it," he sighed, "but it saved my a**. I've got some intel for Az, but she hasn't really been in a social mood lately. I don't think she's left her room in the past day or two...it's kind of weirding me out." He looked toward the stairs. "I don't even know if she knows I'm here...I woke up in Sosol's room."

"Wow, that is indeed a lot for such a short space of time... Are you sure you're alright?" MacPere took down a tumbler and pouring a quarter of gin into it, placing it upon the bar's counter. "I have no doubt in my mind that you'll be able to replicate your creature, dear. It is why geniuses exist, hm~? And as for Azana..." He looked to the stairs with a crinkled brow of concern, sighing. "I worry for her too... Surely she would be happy to you safe, at least?"

Angeles smirked over the rim of her cup, "i can go drag her down here if you like,' she said taking a sip then setting the glass down and standing up, "there's not much that she can do to me and i don't really mind if she hates me for a while."

Jame's eyes widened somewhat with Angeles' offer, but he still shook his head. "Nah, don't worry about it...and I'm fine. Just not used to the whole running for my life thing...that was always her job." He rested his head on his hand, grinning somewhat as memories flowed through his consciousness.
"In hindsight, it doesn't sound particularly healthy, I know...but she thrived on that sort of thing. The challenge, the excitement of beating everyone's expectations...but this one seems different."
Azana walked downstairs, her arms crossed as she looked at James. "I thought I felt my ears burning...talking about me again?" She couldn't hold up the act for long, though, and walked over quickly, throwing her arms around James and pulling him into a tight hug.
"Never. Scare me like that again, got it?"

James chuckled a bit. "But Az, I always said you had all the fun...I thought--"
"I mean it, Tech...you shouldn't have to..." Azana took a deep breath and pulled away. "It's my job, remember...? You--"
"I got cornered in my lab by Stella and her cronies. If I hadn't done what I did, I would have led them straight here." James explained his impromptu plan, including why he was so exhausted on his arrival.
"Okay...that makes a bit more sense," Azana conceded, taking a seat next to her friend, "but why would they use such force...? I thought they'd just lock you in."
"I found something...you're really not going to like it." He replied, pulling out his laptop and warming it up. "I have this thing deadlocked to the system, with only one way tracing...that's what I spent four days working on. I was looking through security footage when I found this." He brought up a picture of a rather esoteric-looking piece of technology.
Azana surveyed it, squinting a little to see the smaller details. "Alright, Mr. Wizard, I have no idea what you're showing me..."
"As far as I can tell, it's in its final stages of construction, but it's an augmentation device. I can recognize some of the pieces as my own; the GMO, apparently, has had the R&D Labs building this piecemeal...I found it by dumb luck."
Azana smirked. "I'm starting to rub off on you...any idea what they'd use it for?"
"Well, one of this size and power, if I'm gauging it right, would be able to amplify anyone in the room by at least one hundred-fold...but why would we need such a big one in such a secluded place? It's not like it works outside there...seems kind of stupid to me." James thought for a while before shaking his head. "Either way, something that big and that secret might have something to do with your Uncle...or at least that's what I figured."
