Terrorist attacks to Steve Irwin...countless lost lives compared to the life of one man....
The destruction of two of the most influential buildings in the world compared to one man....the fear of an entire nation that more lives would be lost compared to one man....
Must I continue? You're comparing the life of one man--no matter how extraordinary--to the lives of thousands. If you consider his life just as valuable as anyone else's, you're calling the other thousands of Americans nothing. Without value in their lives.
Is that the point you're trying to get across? Steve Irwin may have been a demigod to Australians, but one life will never stack against thousands. EVER.

If your national hero died but the sydney opera house was blown up which would you find more offense if some joked and laughed about them?
