"The greatest enemy of freedom is a happy slave."

To protest SOPA, Wallstreet, our irresponsible leaders and the beloved
bankers who are starving the world for their own selfish needs out of
sheer sadistic fun, On March 31, anonymous will shut the Internet down.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

In order to shut the Internet down, one thing is to be done. Down the
13 root DNS servers of the Internet. Those servers are as follow:

A 198.41.0.4
B 192.228.79.201
C 192.33.4.12
D 128.8.10.90
E 192.203.230.10
F 192.5.5.241
G 192.112.36.4
H 128.63.2.53
I 192.36.148.17
J 192.58.128.30
K 193.0.14.129
L 199.7.83.42
M 202.12.27.33

By cutting these off the Internet, nobody will be able to perform a
domain name look-up, thus, disabling the HTTP Internet, which is,
after all, the most widely used function of the Web. Anybody entering
"http://www.google.com" or ANY other url, will get an error page,
thus, they will think the Internet is down, which is, close enough.
Remember, this is a protest, we are not trying to 'kill' the Internet,
we are only temporarily shutting it down where it hurts the most.

While some ISPs uses DNS caching, most are configured to use a low
expire time for the cache, thus not being a valid failover solution
in the case the root servers are down. It is mostly used for speed,
not redundancy.

We have compiled a Reflective DNS Amplification DDoS tool to be used for
this attack. It is based on AntiSec's DHN, contains a few bugfix, a
different dns list/target support and is a bit stripped down for speed.

The principle is simple; a flaw that uses forged UDP packets is to be
used to trigger a rush of DNS queries all redirected and reflected to
those 13 IPs. The flaw is as follow; since the UDP protocol allows it,
we can change the source IP of the sender to our target, thus spoofing
the source of the DNS query.

The DNS server will then respond to that query by sending the answer to
the spoofed IP. Since the answer is always bigger than the query, the
DNS answers will then flood the target ip. It is called an amplified
because we can use small packets to generate large traffic. It is called
reflective because we will not send the queries to the root name servers,
instead, we will use a list of known vulnerable DNS servers which will
attack the root servers for us.

DDoS request ---> [Vulnerable DNS Server ] <---> Normal client requests

| ( Spoofed UDP requests
| will redirect the answers
| to the root name server )
|
[ 13 root servers ] * BAM

Since the attack will be using static IP addresses, it will not rely
on name server resolution, thus enabling us to keep the attack up even
while the Internet is down. The very fact that nobody will be able to
make new requests to use the Internet will slow down those who will try
to stop the attack. It may only lasts one hour, maybe more, maybe even
a few days. No matter what, it will be global. It will be known.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

download link in #opGlobalBlackout
The tool is named "ramp" and stands for Reflective Amplification. It is
located in the ramp folder.

----------> Windows users

In order to run "ramp", you will need to download and install these two
applications;

WINPCAP DRIVER - www.winpcap.org/install/default.htm
TOR - www.torproject.org/dist/vidalia-bundles/

The Winpcap driver is a standard library and the TOR client is used as
a proxy client for using the TOR network.

It is also recommended to use a VPN, feel free to choose your own flavor of this.

To launch the tool, just execute "ramplaunch.bat" and wait. The attack
will start by itself.

----------> Linux users

The "ramp" linux client is located under the ramplinux folder and
needs a working installation of python and scapy.

Na, they won't do it. It's gotta be a bluff. If these guys can do it, why hasn't something like this been done yet?

How is shutting down the internet a protest? isn't that what SOPA ********' wants? so basically aren't you playing into their hands? Wouldn't the negative consequence be that if you shut down the internet it gives SOPA free room to take over and re-program everything to their wants, needs and specifications. Since everybody wont be on things will be much faster for thus who can get on I.E. SOPA because they got the government to help them sign on. Unlike us in the private sector who are going to get screwed up the a*****e if this protest happens. I'm fighting this protest no matter what. If you wanna protest SOPA how about you cuss, spread porn and free music and free movies? you know do all the things that SOPA hates but do it in such a massive effect that they learn there is nothing they can ******** do about it. Else they would need to jail about everybody in the world because we are almost all guilty of pirating at least one thing. At least one song, one movie, one something. I think all this SOPA s**t is ricockulous. You are all whining like little boys and girls unable to do a damned thing and scared out of your little minds. This is why I didn't support gaia and wiki's actions in doing such a thing, all they are doing is spreading fear. Maybe a little bit of the spread of knowledge was a good plus to that whole thing, but come on people! THINK for a second. Wiki shut their s**t down to prove a point that this is how the internet would be with SOPA. Anybody who thinks its a good idea to shut it down completely is an idiot. I hope everybody when and if the internet goes down, just doesn't give a ******** and goes outside and plays about and shows the world how great it is without internet. That way SOPA and all those anti- online people can win for sure, because your little protests are not thinking through the full complexity of the consequences that will ensue and I cannot support any movement which doesn't think logically enough to think at least five steps ahead of its opponent. Oye i've been angry today I need to not post anymore.

It's a bunch of guys in basements who think that they're freedom fighters for running a script on their computer.

Believe me, this isn't gonna be a big deal. Like I said, if some pizza-faced nerd in his basement can do this, why hasn't somebody done it already?

'Cause people like the internet? Anyway, it's just going to be stuff like search engines and the like it seems, plus even if it's annoying, that's what protests are supposed to be, though if they can just go and hack Google, why don't they just hack the computers and accounts owned by the actual people who support SOPA and just annoy the hell out of them specifically instead? Well, whatever, this won't be a problem for me, at the moment.

In order to his words.

(A): This isn't the Matrix, Mr. Anderson, calm down.
(B): SOPA Bill has arleady been through congress and denied andis being revised?
(C): Shutting down the internet to a company as big as Microsoft? Good luck.
(D): If you succeed that is a form of terrorism. So have fun with that Because they can find you now through your computer [I think its called IPS or something] address, every computer has one.
(E): If you are anonymous, you can not be Legion because we know what Legion is, making it not anonymous.
(F): If you do not forget, then obviously you have not forgiven anyone.
(G): Lastl your human not a league of demons and spirits in one single bodied life form, so you're not legion.

That is all lol/

(B): SOPA Bill has arleady been through congress and denied andis being revised? You really think that means anything? You can't kill an idea
(C): Shutting down the internet to a company as big as Microsoft? Good luck. Easy, people have hacked Russian Missle Silos before and got 48 of 50 characters from the pass
(D): If you succeed that is a form of terrorism. So have fun with that Because they can find you now through your computer [I think its called IPS or something] address, every computer has one. You really think you can't Proxy server? TOR is the ******** king of all proxies, I defy all the law enforcers in the world to track someone using TOR
(E): If you are anonymous, you can not be Legion because we know what Legion is, making it not anonymous. Legion is a mass collective of people AKA a Conglomerate, not just some stupid demon from Ghost Rider orwhatever
(F): If you do not forget, then obviously you have not forgiven anyone. What is this? I don't even
(G): Lastl your human not a league of demons and spirits in one single bodied life form, so you're not legion. See two above you

lol.
I'm just posting it so you guys know whats up if your internet goes down.
And as they've said, its not really shutting down the internet, just shutting down the http:// service, which is what 90% of internet users use.

@Mizuki
From my position here, that comment about legion being the demon thing is like those people who blame the Beatles for copying justin bieber.

We are Legion thing is a passage from the bibile. It means a large collection of people usually in the 1000s. The reason that demon thing from ghost rider was named legion was cause it was a collection of a 1000 souls.

@Fire
first misconception. this isn't the actions of one person. this is the actions of several thousand people at once.
Second misconception. the reason someone has done it before is cause it doesn't really shut down the internent, just shuts down a server by overloading it.

@Eris
I believe the message is meant to be something like the 'internet blackout' thing that happened in feb. Except they are taking it a bit more seriously.
also, i am not a supporter, just thought you'd guys like to know about it before it happens rather than after.
The thing with sopa is, its not the fact it'll stop pirating that was the problem, its the fact it will stop internet creativity because of the high risk of being shut down if someone doesn't like your idea.
For example. if i were to put a link on gaia to a youtube video of a tv show, and someone reported it to the sopa people before the gaia people take it down, then gaia online would be cut off from all payments and shut down. Now the person reporting can report anything that they think with hurt their interlectural rights, meaning pretty much anyone can do it, and while the defending company can send defensive evidance, the sopa people thing dont can ignore it if they choose.
