"Urgent..?" murmured Remy, concerned. "Must've been in a hurry to slip it under the door, but they should've knocked..."

Gren smiled, a hardy tune, new singers...and MacPere coming down the stairs. He slid from his stool and joined him. "Sleep okay, even with all of our racket?"

Azana nodded to Kageko, hiding the envelope up in her hat momentarily. "I will...but I want to enjoy the song," she said, a somewhat melancholic tinge to her voice. She was actually having fun tonight...

Sosol was entirely involved with the song, not paying attention to the audience. He always loved this piece, and he was going to make sure they knew it.

You can fly, fly, fly, off to anywhere you choose.
You can try, try, try, but eventually you lose.
It seems there's always something trying to keep a good man down...

The song may have been a bit sadder than most were looking for, but it was entertaining, not that downbeat, and fit in well with Azana's choice.

I have no fear of falling, but I hate hitting the ground.

Azana noticed Eli's arrival downstairs and slid her way over to him, smirking a bit at the drowsy redhead. "You missed the opening act..." She teased, heading behind the bar to see if she could find anything that would appeal to his tastes and help wake him up a bit.

Man...'Sol's a lot better at the bartending thing...I have no idea what to get him!

"Noise? Opening act? ... I must have been out cold, I didn't hear a thing! And if it appears to be karaoke night..." He firmly patted Gren's rear, smiling groggily. "Maybe a certain someone should be up next~?"

"O-oh...well now..." he blushed, grinning. "I suppose I'll have to, huh?"

Remy nodded, a touch concerned. She seemed upset. "Okay...hope everything's all right."

After the brief musical interlude (including harmonica), Sosol went back into the song as enthusiastically as ever.

Searching through my sofa, trying to find some extra change...
I thought that I knew everything, 'til everything changed.
Now I'm standing on an island that is sinking into the sea,
and all that i can do is just enjoy the scenery!

You can fly, fly, fly, off to anywhere you choose.
You can try, try, try, but eventually you'll lose.
They say a man hears sweet, soft music just before he drowns...
I have no fear of falling, but I hate hitting the ground.
I have no fear of falling, but I hate hitting the ground, yeah!

Azana's eyes settled on the rather elaborate bottle kept in the bar specifically with MacPere in mind. When in doubt... she thought with a shrug, pulling it out and pouring a small glass, smiling uncontrollably at Sosol's song...

"That's the spirit, sweetheart... I shan't ruin the proceedings myself~"

He had to admit, Sosol did have quite the voice. Goodness me, it seemed that he was out of a job within the inn himself, ha!

"Beautiful performances like these make me wonder why I even try..."

Erik twirled his staff. "He's doing better than I thought he would. He leaned on his staff, listening and watching the preformance.

"Ruin? Oh no...you'd be wonderful, dear! I'm the one who can't sing..." he said bashfully.

As everyone mingled with each other, Kageko quietly headed upstairs. Once she was out of sight of everyone, she leaned against the wall and pulled a scroll out of her coat. Part of it was already written on in an ancient language, but the ancient writing continued to appear at the end. Figuring that the message should be fully written out by the time she reached the yet unwritten part, she started reading the message with a cold demeanor after checking to make sure that no one had followed her up.

MacPere turned to Gren with a knowing smile before leaning against him, eyes closed. "If you say so, sweetheart, if you say so..."

Heeeeeey, yeah yeaah! The music began to soften for the last verse, one that meant a lot to him given his past...the entire thing was sung with a smoldering, just-beneath-the-surface bitterness...

You and I have politics; there's line that we don't cross.
We live happily ever after inside this little box,
but you can't just take a lion and throw him into a cage,
and expect him to be grateful for the shelter that you gave!

You can fly, fly, fly, off to anywhere you choose.
You can try, try, try, but eventually you'll lose.
The more you try to cling to me, the less I'll stick around...

Alright, I have no fear of falling, but I hate hitting the ground.
I have no fear of falling, but I hate hitting the ground.
I have no fear of falling...but I hate hitting the ground...
The outro of the song came a bit too soon for him, but he knew others wanted their turn, so he simply gave a bow and put the microphone back on the stand.

Azana came back to Gren and MacPere, putting down the glass of port near MacPere and hoping it was a good decision...as the song ended, though, her affect dropped, realizing what came next. She promised...and why delay the inevitable?

"I do, but...I might as well get up there anyway..." At the song's end, Gren clapped, cheering. "All right!"

"Woo! Go Sosol! Yaaay!"
Remy whistled again in his odd chord.

Gren smiled at Azana, wondering about her stiff expression. "You okay?"

"Well, that's was excellent, way to go." Erik said with a smile. He clapped his hands. His staff stood straight up though when he got off it.

As he had never been the wooping kind, MacPere clapped enthusiastically and beamed, giving Sosol a nod. "That was fantastic~"

To Azana bringing of the alcohol he smiled and accepted it with deepest thanks, taking a lengthy, satisfying sip. "Ah, hits the spot... Thank you dear~"

Kageko thought to herself as she rolled up the scroll and put it away, After putting the scroll away, Kageko stayed in the hallway for a while longer, thinking deeply about the implications of the information she had received, Although Kageko may have grown colder in her absence, she was still loyal to her friends, and cared for them. She was definitely not letting them come to harm in any way. Her official goal was to gather information on the assassin. Normally, that would've meant roaming around a wide area, but this time was different. If there was an assailant out there, an assailant that could very well target one of her friends, then she would do both, no matter how hard it was.

Kageko stayed upstairs a bit longer to regain her carefree composure, before heading back downstairs just as Sosol finished his song . She didn't have to look at Azana to be a hundred percent sure what the older woman was feeling, the aura emitting from Azana was definitely one of anxiety and worry. It was almost infectious to Kageko, almost. Deciding to leave Sosol and Azana alone so they could read their letter in peace, Kageko decided to stand with Ultima and company. "So how have you guys been?" she asked them with a carefree smile on her face.
