Lol, People probably passed out in the street in a way to draw attention from the distraction that is the London Olympics and onto the Economic and Societal problems at are currently wreaking havoc on the United Kingdom... at least I think it should be that way... >> << Damn Olympics.

Sure we've seen better days, but it's not in a terrible position. And my point was that people here dont look at it like that. They dont see something straining the economy, they see a reason to drink obscene amounts of alcohol. And I dont see how it's tearing nations apart. If everyone can set aside their differences every few years to play some friendly games, I dont see how it's a bad thing. You're looking solely at the negatives, only seeing it as a rouse. It very well may just be that, but to many more, it's a symbol that global unity may not be that far fetched of a dream.

True true, I guess it's fine to look at it from that perspective, I like to look at the negatives of things, so that I know what to change. I personally like watching the Olympics, but I acknowledge that it is more of a distraction now a days. Like Beijing, I personally just feel like countries want to boost there image with the world media through the Olympics more than their economies. I mean no city has ever recovered from the Olympic Burden
