TheWingsOfTheGods ....to me hunger games is just an western, and less brutal version of battle royal. >an western and wasnt battle royal taken from something too? lol @Bodies Ya, in the books you actually get an idea of who she is. You get to see how the stuff she does affects her. It's painfully obvious that under her "i'm tough as nails" exterior, she's a wreck inside from her upbringing and all the stress of the games.

I originally put American, before changing it to western. And the battle royal film was adapted from the novel of the same name written in 1999

TheWingsOfTheGods ....to me hunger games is just an western, and less brutal version of battle royal. Battle Royale is the reason I'll never read The Hunger Games, it's such a blatant rip off. Lord of the Flies first had kids killing kids, but Battle Royale added in the whole school kids/teens chosen by a dystopian government.
The whole time I was reading it I was constantly going "Ohshit", "God dayum", and "Doood!"
Like the class teacher stuck in the bag all dead like, the two students getting killed before the game even started, and Kazuo just being brutal. Besides, I loved the fact that the system actually got beat.

That's why I hated the movie so much. It just seemed like the entire thing was for nothing.

Lol, pointless maybe but with how brutal the government is/was I can say I liked the ending. Shogo's plan was perfect, and I liked Noriko and Hiroki enough to cheer for 'em to make it.

Does it actually matter? Both candidates are refusing to tell anyone what their plans are for this country. Right now, neither of them will receive my vote, and I feel comfortable with that. I still lean slightly over to Romney, but his choice (Paul Ryan) was a stupid one. At the same time, Obama made a bad choice in picking Biden again.

Obama is just whatever, he's not great, but at least he doesn't have radical, retarded 1st century views.

The Republicans are so "whutdafaq" right now that it reminds me of the Simpson's elisode where the presidential canditates where replaced with aliens.
Though I live in Tampa, and it's ironic that just after the city put in so much many and millions to clean itself up for RNC we get threatened with a bloody hurricane.

I wanna see Romney's 'supposed' health care plan. My interest in Romney is just curiosity. Romney is mostly only hated on because he makes a sit ton of money from investments and its not taxed. Is that really so bad? He made the smart choice, and he takes the risk of losing it.
It's clear that both candidates are treading on some very fragile glass right now, that's why they won't open their mouths unless its to say what the other guy is doing wrong.
