Remy looked up from his painting. "No luck, huh, Knight? It's a tricky thing...but if that's the case, suppose you ought to find the Sentinel and Overseer!"
With a friendly yawn, Gren came downstairs and smiled. "There enough chowder for everyone? It smells great."

Vincente sat down. "Huh really, I guess that means he's with them, as I recall, he was possibly holding something against the overseer." Vincente said. Ultima held it above his head. "It's for me." He said. Erik snatched it from him. "You want some Gren?"

Grabbing his bowl back from Ultima, he said "There's a fresh pot on the stove. Plenty for everyone." To Ultima, he added "Rule one, grasshopper. Never get between a superhero and his supper."

Gren nodded. "Yeah, thanks! I haven't had a good chowder in a while." he said smiling, fetching himself a bowl.
Remy poured himself a tumbler of blood thoughtfully. "I'd also ask that Nicolae fellow. He tends to have connections."

Vincente stretched his arm. "This is one of the most bizarre cold cases ever." He said. Erik pulled Ultima's arm behind his head and another arm behind his back. "You, little, thief." He said. Ultima struggled against him. "Hey, it's food, I'm me."

"Indeed. I can certainly say that this is one of the toughest cases I've ever come across. I don't know who killed Gambino or why, but Edmund said Johnny believed something big was coming. If he was right, we may just be touching the tip of the iceberg here. We should all be on guard and keep a sharp eye out for anything unusual."

Gren returned, settling down with a bowl of chowder. "Ultima, get a bowl from the kitchen. Robbing the chef makes him less inclined to cook, you know."

Ultima nodded. "I'd try, but I can't move my arms." Erik let go of him. Vincente was still thinking about it though. He looked as dawnfang no longer existed, duskfang was in it's place. Ultima shrugged when he came back. "I didn't rob anyone."

Having finished his bowl, he said to his friends "The last thing I want is another war. I wish I hadn't fought in the last one. It was brutal for all of us. We need to find out what was so important that it cost Johnny Gambino his life."

Finishing his bowl, Gren yawned and placed the dish in the sink. 'Thanks, man...grand stuff." he said grinning, heading back upstairs.
Remy enjoyed the scent of the chowder, and missed its flavor, but instead drank his blood and continued painting. It was still a young piece.
(May be back later, if not, I'll see you all tomorrow. biggrin )

Vincente clossed his eyes. "Besides money, power, and his son, I've no other ideas." Vincente offered. Erik was playing with his arm blades. "Maybe it was just a random assassination." Erik offered. Ultima offered something too. "Maybe the guy that did it didn't like him."

"I'll concede that Gambino had a list of enemies as long as my blade, but I got the feeling from Edmund that there was something more going on behind the scenes."

Kageko had been listening in on the conversation while chomping down on an apple and seeming to casually flip through a book that she had carried around with her. It was in times like these that she was glad she could erase her presence.

Kageko shrugged, "Well.... I guess that's true at the present. But you never know about the future." She said the last part with a playful and slightly competitive smile on her face. Closing the book, she put it back into the inside pocket of her coat.
