My friend just asked me to make her wedding dress. I'm super excited. I really wanted to make my wedding dress but my mother talked me out of it. It's a very simple pattern and it's going really well. We're going to add some embroidery to it. I'll post a picture when it's done.

I just finished this:

Pattern: Sophia Carry All
The wallet is improvised.

Fabric: Orly (xD made me laugh when I heard the name)

Time Taken: 4 days

I'm not happy with it really. I still love the bag and pattern but I made a mistake on the zip so it sticks and I don't fancy ripping it all out again now.

If I were to make this bag again I would make the straps a few inches longer so it could fit on my shoulder. I'd try harder to find the right zip and I'd also match the handles better. (One handle has a lot more white). Oh and I wouldn't have bothered with the water proofing layer. I added. It was a good idea until it came to fitting the zip X___X

It's going to be an everyday bag rather than a weekend bag. No way I could fit a weekends worth of stuff in there haha!

I've named it Sepia. What? You don't name your bags? n___n stare

I'm working on finishing up a knitted long sleeve cardigan. I have some pictures of it on my Flickr account used with www.ravelry.com, but am not sure how to directly link the images (or if I can) to Gaiaonline.

I am on my 13th skein of Paton's Soy Wool Stripes in Natural Earth. I'm not too big a fan of the yarn now, since the yarn tends to split. Also, the yarn (70% wool and 30% soy) feels much nicer on the skein than what I have knitted. I hope after I finish and block the cardigan, the garment will be less scratchy.

If someone could help me figure out how to directly post images from a Flickr account, I'll put the pictures here, otherwise, click: this link.

Ooo LauraIV, wedding dress - sounds exciting! xd

I'm just about to start joining together my first jumper biggrin (so excited!) but I also need to wap out some short sleeves as I do so. It's on massive needles, so it's very quick.

Today I started a nice green wool cardigan that seems very earthy and natural and nice, which makes me say stuff like "Ooo, natural looking" and smile.

I'm also about to embark on my first machine sewing project, ever. eek It's just easy cushion covers for my living room sofas but I've picked out the fabric and am eyeing up my old-school Zephyr with trepidation. All this, considering I learnt to machine sew once about ten years ago on an electric machine, and my machine now has a crank handle. Very exciting. whee

There'll doubtless be pictures when I can get round to joining Ravelry and sorting out my camera.

Apologies for essay and smiley overload!

As for me, I'm still working on the cardigan. Stupid Flickr won't let me show a picture directly, so I used tinypic.com.

I knew someone from a Stitch n' b***h group who was going to either knit or crochet her wedding dress. She was still deciding on patterns when she found one she really liked at a store and bought it.

But knitting / crocheting one's own wedding dress: that is hardcore!

Knitting a wedding dress? Gah! gonk That's a brave lady. It's almost a shame she got another one, it would've been awesome to see pics!

These are my pillows. I just realized that's not a good picture. They were pretty easy to make actually. Took me 30 minutes to sew the things, and then I stuffed 'em wile watchin TV.

That is nothing compared to the Knitted Wedding. She answers popular questions here.

Nice pillows! Only 30 minutes? Wow!

The first Stitch and b***h book is worth getting if you are interested in Knitting. The later ones aren't so great. Except for the Happy Hooker for Crocheting.

eek That lady is menal.

In a fantastically awesome way, but still, surely, utterly mad. 3nodding

First S&B book is brill, I agree. I'd recommend it, less for the patterns (although they are purdy) but more for a really easy reference to pick up and understand when you make a massive mistake or read a pattern and just go ... uuuhhh?
