It appeared that he was asleep and so Bo did not respond to what she had done instead he laid there sleeping. Sofia had picked things up not wanting her home to look sloppy and once that was done she walked over to Debra and asked if she wanted a ride home. Sofia had a car, she jut rarely used it since walking and getting some fresh air was a lot better but she left it up to Debra if she wanted a ride home or not.

Debra thought about it for a moment and replied, "Sure, I would like a ride home, if it's not any trouble for you." She didn't mind walking, but since Sofia had offered, she didn't see any reason why she shouldn't accept, and she was also curious about the kind of car that Sofia drove.

Sofia grabbed her car keys and headed out to the garage with Debra. She opened the garage door and there her car was, under a tarp to stop dust from collecting on the car. "Let me tell you this now. My parents try to buy me with things and this was one of the things they gave me though I don't drive it often, only when I need too." She pulled off the tarp and there the car sat, shiny. She got in and let Debra get in the passenger, the car still smelled bran new and the engine sounded like a beauty when she turned it on. She asked where she lived and then drove off to drop her off.

"Now this is a nice car!" Debra said with undisguised admiration as she sat in the passenger seat, "If my Grandma gave me a car like this, I might forget that she's a bossy old woman. But then again, if I knew that it was a bribe, I would probably say, 'Thanks for the gift!' and do whatever I wanted to anyway." Since this might be her one and only time that she got to ride in a Mercedes, Debra took in all of the sights, sounds, textures, and smells of the brand-new car. Out of curiosity, she turned on the radio and began to push the preset buttons to see if Sofia had bothered to program any stations yet.

Sofia had indeed programmed the stations but only the first three buttons. The first one was classical music, the second was classic rock and the third was a Alternative that did always play metal and rock. She drove off to Debra's grandmothers house the music rather nice to listen. Even though Sofia didn't drive often she was still a very good driver and soon she pulled up in front of the house. She glanced at it to see the place where Debra lived in and it looked nice. "I was planning on driving to school tomorrow since I don't want to burn up much energy, would you like me to pick you up?"

Meanwhile Bo had gotten up and paced around looking for Sofia as he whimpered. His tail dropped along with his ears..something seemed wrong with him.

Debra nodded and replied, "Sure, I'll accept a ride. Just tell me what time you're coming, and I'll be ready." She hesitated a moment, and added, "You don't have to do this now if you don't want to, but my Grandma would really like to meet you. It can wait until morning if you'd rather not tonight."

By now Alex had noticed that Bo wasn't his usual self. In fact, Alex was just a little surprised that the dog hadn't decided to go outside to play fetch again. Not knowing what else to do, Alex asked Bo, "What's wrong, Bo? Something bothering you?"

"I'll come to pick you up at 6:40, and I'd like to meet your grandma, perhaps tomorrow, tonight seems too late," Sofia chuckled and waved goodbye to Debra before driving off back home. On the way home she had a bad feeling for some reason but she didn't know what it was so she shrugged it off. Meanwhile Bo had laid down on his side and only whined more and for a moment he almost looked lifeless though his whining showed that he was indeed alive. After a couple minutes Bo got up and continued to pace and cry, at one point throwing up.

Sofia parked and headed back into the apartment. She fished for her keys and walked in.

As soon as Sofia returned, Alex looked up from the TV and said, "I think that something's bothering Bo. He looks sick, and he's whining a lot, and I think he puked on the carpet."

Sofia looked at Alex before looking over at Bo who had laid down again on his side. She rushed over to him and knelt down beside him, "What's wrong boy?" She patted his head and he lifted it up weakly to look at her but ended up just laying there. It was began to frighten her so she got up and went to the front door and opened it wide before going back and picking up the rather large dog but none the less she managed to carry him out. Without a word she shut the door and drove off to the nearest vet.

It was already 9pm and Sofia was planning on going to bed around that time but she did not return home yet. In fact hours flew by.

Alex went to bed as usual, but for some reason, he couldn't get to sleep right away. Perhaps the fact that Sofia was gone had something to do with it, or maybe Bo's illness was bothering Alex more than he was willing to admit. If asked, though, he would insist that he was just excited about the upcoming game. In any case, Alex slept rather fitfully that night.

Sofia had not come home all night and she finally returned around five in the morning, enough to shower and get changed along with making breakfast. She had gotten no sleep at all but it wasn't the first time she pulled an all nighter. She would simply take a nap during lunch so she wouldn't be that exhausted for half time. Non the less she was very out of it and had forgotten to nag Alex awake though lucky for him she hat set his alarm clock at the appropriate time for him to wake up. Around 6:20 she left the house and headed to Debra's to pick her up. When she arrived it was 6:38 and so she honked and waited for her friend, shutting her eyes for a moment just to rest them.

Debra came out of the house the moment that Sofia honked, and she was followed by her grandmother. "Good morning! This is my Grandma," Debra stated cheerfully as she got in the car, "And this is my friend Sofia." "Pleased to meet you Sofia. I won't keep you, but I had to take the time to say 'Good morning'," her grandmother said in return. It was possible that Debra's grandmother was expecting to see a carbon-copy of Debra, but it was now clear that Sofia met her approval. While Sofia's choice of clothing wasn't popular among their classmates, to say the least, her sense of style was one that Debra's grandmother could appreciate.

Alex's alarm clock went off as usual, rousing Alex from the deep sleep that he had finally fallen into. Ordinarily he would have pushed the snooze button a couple times, but he never slept in on a game day, and so he got up at the first 'beep, beep, beep' of the alarm clock. Sofia was gone, which would not have concerned Alex any if it wasn't for the previous night's events. The breakfast he had found in the kitchen indicated that she had been home for at least a short time, but Bo wasn't there, which wasn't a good thing. Alex concluded that the vet was probably taking care of Bo for the time being because if Bo's illness had proven to be fatal, Sophia would probably be locked in her bedroom and crying her eyes out. Thanks to the fact that Alex had gotten up on time for a change, he also got to school earlier than usual.

"Good morning, it's very nice to meet you," Sofia said in return before waving goodbye to Debra's grandmother and drove off to school. On the way there she informed Debra about what had happened last night. "He's fine now though, he just had a very bad stomach virus. I chose to stay with him all night because he was scared." She sighed and yawned a bit as she parked and turned the car off. "I'll probably take a nap during lunch so I hope you don't mind," she said getting out of the car and walking into the building with her. She was still worried about Bo but the worst part was over and she was glad it was nothing bad.
