So I was thinking of getting the lava/magma release for an idea I had.

I figured if I could manipulate the magma beneath the earth and the earth itself I could heat up some minerals and apply enough pressure to create diamonds. My problem then would be how I would go about making use of diamond, cause that's crystal release right?

Well diamonds aren't crystals, you would need mineral release.

Though I'm interested in knowing more about this mineral release. Where is it listed under and what's it called?

And no, Diamonds are gems, Crystals are crystals. Crystal release cannot affect diamonds because diamonds are not crystals. There is a very fine line between the two.
