"Sleepflying?" Sosol asked with a smirk, gazing up at the roof. "That explanation would assume he takes you with..."
As they reached the Inn's interior, Knightsoul made a request for Nathan's dinner, and one thought came to mind and escaped him. "And what exactly do human-sized firebirds eat?" He asked Knightsoul, depositing him in a chair. "He's not exactly the normal patron..."

"You know, it's never really occurred to me to ask his dietary habits. Come to think of it, I don't recall him ever being hungry before. Maybe he doesn't need to eat that often."
Nathan made his way to the kitchen as Knightsoul tried to make sense of his situation. "I don't know how I get on the roof, Sosol. I just know that for the last three days, every time I go to sleep I wake up on the roof. This is the first time I woke up there without Nathan. I'm perplexed."

Sosol poured Knightsoul a glass of cola, humming in thought as he considered the facts of their little mystery. "Well, Nathan could have flown back and forgot you...you can't teleport, can you?" He asked, not entirely sure of the extent of the strange hero's abilities.
He leaned over the bar, looking at the door to the kitchen. "I don't know how he plans on feeding himself back there...most things require thumbs..."
Azana pushed open the door to the Inn, leaning heavily on her staff as she made her way silently across the room. She had hardly noticed anyone else's presence in her single-minded progress toward a shower, a change of clothes, and a meal.
"A-Az, you okay...? Don't tell me you were out there all day..." He said with concern, watching her slowly ascend the stairs, her legs barely holding her up. He gave a sigh as she finally vanished, turning his attention back to Knightsoul.
"I worry about her sometimes," he said with a shake of his head, leaning on the bar.

"Don't. Az can take care of herself. I admire her strength." He took a sip of cola, savoring the cool liquid as it made its way down his throat.
"As for teleporting, I may be a genius at inventing things, but I haven't cracked that secret. Yet."
Suddenly, there was a crash from the kitchen. "Sounds like Nate's raiding the fridge."

Sosol winced a bit as he heard the crash in the kitchen, knowing that he would likely have to clean up after the bird's snack attack. At the mention of inventions, a smile crept across Sosol's face.
"James has," he mentioned casually, wondering what reaction would come from the superhero. "Took him a while, and some data from SIN portals, but last I checked, he had it just about calibrated."
Then again, he's not saving the world and inventing simultaneously, Sosol conceded, realizing that Knight would probably come up with something given the chance. He had mentioned Azana's strength, which brought a glimmer in his eye. She was indeed something to be admired...
And feared. The images from his vision returned to his mind, and he shook them off again, taking a quick sip of his drink. "I wonder what Nathan will come up with," he said aloud, trying to change subjects to something a little less disturbing.

Nathan emerged from the kitchen with what was, in all likelihood, the tallest multidecker sandwich ever assembled. "I'm starting to feel like the Shaggy to his Scooby" Knightsoul replied.

Sosol raised his eyebrows as the bird emerged with a towering sandwich. "I don't know whether to be more impressed at how well that sandwich is made, or that he made the whole thing with wings," he commented, watching it go by before addressing Knight's comment.
"Trust me, I know a hippie when I see one...you don't qualify. Nor are you a coward..." He argued.
Azana walked downstairs, still incredibly unstable but clean and in a rather light outfit for her tastes. "Dinner..." She said quietly, her voice betraying her drained state. The sight of the sandwich made her stomach growl loudly, and if it hadn't been in the unlikely hands of the firebird, she would have gone for it.
((I'll be back on in an hour. Class is over, gotta go home.))

Knightsoul took one look at Azana and came to a swift decision. "Alright, birdbrain. That sandwich is the equivalent of a buffet line and I certainly speak for everyone when I say fork it over."
Nathan looked at Knightsoul as if he was deciding how hard it would be to defend his meal. Finally deciding that a sandwich wasn't worth the trouble of a fight, he began the task of separating the sandwich into dinner for everyone.

Kageko walked into the inn, stretching out her muscles. After a quick glance around to see who seemed to be up to a conversation, Kageko walked over to Knight and Nathan with the comment, "Interesting sandwich.... I suggest you finish it up before Ultima sees it or else you just might see your dinner sucked into a black hole."

Hearing Gren's saxophone, Kageko turned to the source of the sound to find Gren making sure that his saxophone was in tune. "Are you going to be playing something tonight?" she asked curiously.

Sosol was surprised at the firebird's dexterity as it broke apart the sandwich with relative ease, handing out still sizable portions to the patrons there. "I am really going to have to learn from you, Nathan," he commented, looking at the sandwich. "You're quite the architect."
Azana wordlessly devoured the sandwich, her entire being relishing the simple idea of a meal at home. As she breathed a sigh of relief afterward, she looked around at everyone, giving a deep nod of gratitude to the bird. Kageko and Gren came in not long after, and she knew it wouldn't take long for her to get back to her normal, cheerful self.

Kageko simply shook her head as she answered, "No, it's alright. I was just wondering," a pause as she tried to match the date with any recent happenings, "By the way, Easter was this Sunday, right? How was it?". Her last question was directed at anybody that could hear it.

Nathan squawked his delight as Kage and Gren came in. Knightsoul turned to his friends and said "Hey, guys, how's life? Nate has sandwiches if you're hungry." Turning to Nate, he said "They're actually pretty good. What's your secret?" Nate shrugged his wings, unwilling to divulge any information.
((My posts may be sporadic for a while. I've been struck by the muse and putting my pencil and sketchpad to work.))
