"Oh, no worries, Gren. They're just a little perturbed about Nate and I interrupting their breakfast. We woke up in a tree about three miles south, and promptly fell out of said tree onto their roast boar. We've been outrunning them ever since. Apparently, Vikings take it personally when you disturb their meal. Anyhow, we just came back here to get a drink..." They both took swigs of water. "Take a breath..." They both took a big breath. "And now we're ready." He drew his sword and opened the door. "This won't take a moment. Be right back. CHARGE!!!!" They charged out the door towards the Vikings. "Take that. And that. No Super Bowl for you."

Gren blinked, stunned. "This place gets more interesting as the days go by..." he murmured, looking about for Emily, who was no doubt hiding from the noise.

Emily ran back to hide behind Gren as two noisy people came inside, one a giant bird, the other a normal person. She buried her face in Gren's pantleg and whined a bit before trying to go back upstairs without being seen.

Emily was grateful to Gren for putting her in her room and she settled down and smiled again after a while, especially with Gren praising her.

The pair calmly walked back into the inn, Nathan assembling a pair of triple-decker sandwich while Knight grabbed a couple of sodas from the fridge. The two sat at their usual tables, popped the tops off their drinks, took a swig and, in unison, said "Ahhhh....." as they settled into their chairs.
