Bree blinks, shakes her head, and turns to the boys.

"You were right. She is mad."

And then to the bar she goes for a Guinness.

Aye. Mad as a box of frogs. sweatdrop

So then I'm in?

With the understanding that, if you break your oath, the Wyrd will be the least of your worries? Sure, why not.

Bree just shakes her head, glancing at the clock.

"Well it's half past ten and it's pretty much dead here. Close up early and I'll make dinner?"  

[The Court of Barton]

*Connor nods* Sounds like a plan. *Turns to Bill.* Okay new guy, you're on table bussing.

... That doesn't sound so bad. I though you were gonna haze me or something.

Oh we were, but the Circle of Death is closed for maintenance today. Don't worry, a good sweeping and it'll be just like new. mrgreen

More head-shaking from Bree and she heads into the kitchen, tying on Murphy's discarded apron as she goes. Not long afterwards, the tantalizing scent of corned beef, potatoes, and boiled cabbage wafts out into the bar.

*As the smell of the food wafts over to him, it finally occurs to Pretty Bill how long its been since he's eaten. His stomach growls loudly before settling into a moody, empty ache, and he feels slightly lightheaded. He is, in a word, famished.*

... I don't suppose I could trouble you folks for a bite while I'm here? sweatdrop

No trouble at all. I'm pretty sure Bree's offer included you as well.

eek Really? But... she hates me! gonk  

[Bree Landwalker]

"I don't hate anybody," Bree replies from behind the heavily-laden tray she carries out from the kitchen. "Waste of energy. Besides, house rule is that everybody gets to eat. If you go away hungry, it's your own damn fault."

Indeed, she's clearly used to cooking for people with large appetites. There's enough food on the table to feed a small army.

*Pretty Bill salivates at the spread before him, and practically leaps to fill his plate... But yipes and withdraws as Connor smacks him with a wooden spoon.* Behave! We haveta say Grace first. Murph, would you do the honors?

*They put their hands together in prayer.* Bless this food and them that eats it, Amen. C'mon, I'm starvin like Lee Marvin here. mrgreen

It's a good thing we had Da cremated, otherwise he'd be rolling over in his grave right now. stare

Bree just laughs and helps herself to some potatoes before the boyos get to the bowl. Even with their typically voracious appetites, there's plenty to go around and, as Bill quickly discovers, Bree is a damned fine cook.

*Bill digs in tenetively at first, then once he's satisfied it's not poisoned, begins heartily snarfing it down.* Dear God... If I had known you cooked like this, I would have defected a long time ago. You don't wanna know some of the things Scissorman Charlie likes to make. sweatdrop

Bree grins around her spoon.

"Chop suey, I imagine."

In a manner of speaking, yes. sweatdrop *Bill helps himself to a heaping second portion, sighing contently.*

Y'know Bree, I don't think we need to worry about this one. Bribe him with food, and he'll never leave. whee

"Seems to work for you two miscreants. That amongst certain other charms, to which I don't think Mr. Turner will be entitled." whee
