█▓█▓▒▓▒░▒░

xxxxx▶ Name ⇒ Takami
xxxxx▶ Nicknames ⇒ Taka, Kami
xxxxx▶ Age ⇒ 26
xxxxx▶ Gender ⇒ Male

█▓█▓▒▓▒░▒░

☸ Role ⇒
The god has the ability to shape-shift at will. He can create protective barriers and grant reasonable wishes to those who request something through prayer. Of course, Gods are only allowed to grant wishes for humans and not demons. Takami also has the ability to read minds and show others memories though, memories are shadows so it is impossible to change what has already occurred. Another power that all Gods have are sutras that are capable of creating binding, illusions, or powerful attacks. A god's weakness is lack of faith for those that believe in them. There is also rumored to be a dagger that has the ability to kill a God. Because of his contract with the zodiacs, he not only has power over them that causes them to yearn to be at his side but he is also capable of sensing where his zodiacs are and would know if they were on the verge of death. The return, the zodiacs are capable of sensing their God's whereabouts and if his life were in danger.

☸ Personality ⇒
Takami has always been a prideful and possessive God. He rather uphold a strong farce than show any signs of weakness. Throughout the years, Takami has gained wisdom through experience. He does his best not to make the same mistake twice though sometimes, jealousy does get the better of him. There are times he tries to control his possessive and jealous nature by having a few moments of solitude but even a God has trouble controlling emotions. When it comes to his zodiacs, Takami's over-protectiveness could be a bit suffocating. He cares for all of his zodiacs and wishes for their happiness but the only way he believes they could truly be happy is if they spend all of eternity with him.

☸ History ⇒
In this lifetime, Takami was born all because a certain Sohma could not stay faithful to his wife. The unfaithful husband not wishing to ruin his reputation or taint the Sohma name denied the unborn child of being his and called the mistress all sorts of names to drive her off. Devastated, the mistress decided to have her child with the hopes that the love of her life would one day leave his wife for her. Despite the unfaithful husband’s claims of what the mistress said to be false, the Sohma elders still decided to keep their eye on the matter. If there was a chance the child was a Sohma, it could be a cursed member.

Reports of the child not transforming when the mother held it were confirmed once the child was born and DNA samples were secretly gathered as a precaution. Even though the child was not a zodiac, the god had yet to be reborn. While the investigation continued, the mistress naturally grew attach to her child. Oh how horrible it was for the god to be stuck inside such a useless and weak body. He detested being an infant the most and he hated being treated like a baby even though he was one. The god knew the Sohmas were doing an investigation to confirm he was indeed a Sohma but if they really had any brains they could have had one of his zodiac confirm he was indeed the true jade emperor. That is…unless any of his zodiacs had yet to be born. To make a long story short, their investigation took too long since he wasn’t the only child having been born that time.

There were plenty of women who had previously claimed their child was of Sohma blood though most of those turned out to be lies. The head of the family at that time was in no hurry to step down in power just to hand that sort of power to some infant. In reality, the head was so mad with power he secretly wanted the jade emperor out of the picture. Takami wasn’t stupid. He had nothing to do but mind read so of course he knew what was going on and that damn head of the family was trying to overthrow him as jade emperor. If he was discovered now, he wouldn’t be able to defend himself in this body...at least not yet anyways. Takami had no choice but to stay with his ‘mother’ for now. Feeling the bitterness of the love of her life breaking her heart, his mother turned into a loose woman. Yes she loved her child, but she loved men more.

Takami spent a majority of his infant months in strip club changing rooms. What he saw wasn’t anything new. All of this was only temporarily. Once he finally regained the ability to properly talk and walk, Takami practically took care of himself while his mother went out and about. He learned from talk his mother had moved to Tokyo so he was nowhere near the Sohma family. He knew how to get back but traveling back in this small body would surely grab a lot of attention. Each day without his zodiacs was agonizing; especially with the knowledge they were most likely being ‘controlled’ by someone other than him. Unfortunately, he wasn’t capable of protecting them just yet. The more the jade emperor grew, the more his own powers awakened once again. He didn’t want to leave his zodiacs in the hands of some ‘false’ emperor for too long.

One day, one of his zodiacs bond grew strong enough to find him. Takami was speechless to find the dragon at his doorstep. It was fortunate his mother had left him home alone to do one of her jobs. The last thing they needed was his mother finding out about the Sohma curse by accidentally hugging the reckless dragon. Takami was overjoyed that one of his precious zodiacs came looking for him and it was difficult to part with Rei. He promised Rei he would return one day when the time was right. Unfortunately, things did not go as planned and Rei had no money to return. That and it did not settle well with the God to allow Rei to return by himself. Rei had no choice but to call his father.

When the father came to pick up his son, Takami saw his chance to reclaim what was rightfully his. Using blackmail to gain the upper hand, Takami got the father to agree to take Takami in as an illegitimate son. Conditions were made and Takami had returned to the town he was born in. His ‘mother’ allowed a Sohma to leave with her child because she no longer wished to have that type of responsibility. Growing up in the Sohma estate gave Takami the time to weed out those actual loyal to the head of the family. By the time he was 14, he was able to reclaim his spot as head of the family. It wasn’t that hard since he had plenty of blackmail against the head as well as a few supporters on his side. Once the jade emperor had reclaimed his status, he had Rei erase the elder’s mind to prevent any future problems from bubbling up.

Despite precautions, peace couldn’t last forever. They were in an era where demons weren’t meant to coexist with humans. Humans would never come to accept demons. A messenger came to Takami and urged him to return to the Spirit Realm through the portal that would be appearing soon. Takami knew a time like this would eventually come. Perhaps that was one of the many reasons why he chose to never get too close to an outsider.

Unfortunately, his zodiacs weren’t as prepared for this sudden bombshell. They were far more attached to the human realm than him. Being the Jade Emperor, he refused to show any signs of hesitation and forced those who did not want to leave into the portal. He assured them it was only their demonic spirits that would leave and they would finally be free to live a normal life. At least it was suppose to have gone that way but some of the human hosts had grown extremely attach to the demonic spirit and the Jade Emperor so subconsciously wished to remain in the form they felt complete in.

After all of the zodiacs had gone through the portal, Takami flashed his foster father a mere glance before disappearing into the other realm.

xxxxx▶ Name ⇒ Raleigh 'Rei' Sohma
xxxxx▶ Nicknames ⇒ Rei
xxxxx▶ Age ⇒ Around mid-twenties
xxxxx▶ Gender ⇒ Male

█▓█▓▒▓▒░▒░

☸ Role ⇒
The dragon's demonic form is a towering, dinosaur-like beast. His massive head is protected with a dark bony helmet, equipped with a pair of horns and a nose spike. Powerful jaws lined with sharp teeth make quick work of his prey. Unlike a tyrannosaur, this flightless dragon has muscular arms which allow him to grapple with opponents and grasp objects easily. A thick muscular tail helps him to balance and can also deliver a harsh slap. He has brutish strength and a bone-crushing bite, but his size and weight can sometimes work against him. While unable to fly, he can swim and hold his breath for several minutes. He can use fire magic to some degree, but often prefers to be in the thick of a fight.

☸ Personality ⇒
A war-monger, the dragon is ruthless and wrathful, prone to bouts of violence and angry insults. Arrogant and aggressive by nature, the dragon has no qualms with carrying out heinous crimes. However, he is protective of his family and will walk the extra mile if it means hunting them down. He often wanders around to guard 'his territory' and drive out intruders. In spite of his bullying nature, he is insecure and often seeks the comfort of a parental figure. He is most fearful of being imprisoned.

☸ History ⇒
Born to a russian father and a japanese mother, Rei’s life did not get off to a good start. As one of the first reborn zodiacs, the result was horrific. His mother passed away from complications and he was left in the care of his father, who was only eighteen then. The man would have abandoned the baby right at the hospital if he had not seen it in the incubation room or overheard the Sohma elders whispering away. A curse? What was wrong with his son? The man witnessed his son’s transformation at the hands of a female Sohma member and for a few days he was horribly conflicted. However, he did return to claim the child, even though the Sohma elders weren’t keen on letting him take the boy. The dragon was a symbol of good fortune after all and he was forced to stay on Sohma property, along with his son. Barely a year later, his father never returned home. Rei was adopted by his father’s brother and brought up in total ignorance that his real parents were both dead.

Bringing up the dragon was no easy task. Rei was a natural trouble-maker and the added power in his zodiac form only made him stubborn enough to always attempt to transform himself. He would try to sit in the cold after a bath, or sneak a few gulps from his foster parent’s whiskey. There was no choice but to home-school him and his tutor was bitten often, thankfully with no serious injuries. His father often resorted to physical force and punishments to keep the rowdy child in line, using means which would probably traumatize a normal child for life but had (not surprisingly) less effect on the wild dragon. In fact, Rei enjoying testing the man’s patience and love, often wandering off into the mountains and forcing the man to take up hunting and tracking as a serious ‘hobby’. At eight years old, Rei traveled all the way to Tokyo to find a very special person. He found a three year old who had more knowledge than he and could not help but feel a mixture of awe and embarrassment. Even then, the dragon was a very late bloomer and did not excel at his studies. His admiration turned into annoyance when the God moved in with them, since the younger child was always so damn ******** smart!

As he matured into a teenager, Rei started to mellow down while learning the ropes of his father’s company – the russian mafia which had a small presence in Japan, mostly to keep the relationships with the various yakuza rings. It was during his late teens that Rei, otherwise known as Raleigh to the foreigners, began to pick things up quickly. He apprenticed under an unlicensed surgeon and soon settled into his own niche in the criminal underworld. In spite of his increasing insanity, Rei was too closely bonded with the dragon spirit. The effects of the portal merged the two and his human shell was brought into the demon world, resulting in a somewhat 'different' dragon.

THE DOG User Image

█▓█▓▒▓▒░▒░

xxxxx▶ Name ⇒ Akari Sohma
xxxxx▶ Nicknames ⇒ Ari
xxxxx▶ Age ⇒ 23
xxxxx▶ Gender ⇒ Female

█▓█▓▒▓▒░▒░

☸ Role ⇒
The Dog in it's true form is roughly the size of a pony, and twice as thick. Mouth lined with sharp teeth ready to rip through muscle, and legs ready to sprint after anything. The dog has a sharp sense of smell and hearing. She's very loyal to her family and to her God, and has no problem tracking and hunting down any one that crosses their path. A quick learner, anything the dog hears, smells, or sees quickly gets put into memory for later use. Quick reflexes have her acting on impulse, only when that fails does she use strategy. Get's distracted easily, trying not to miss any detail, and often tires quickly when putting everything in the first few moves. Also has issues sitting still, will constantly be pacing, unless asleep, and even then a light sleeper.

☸ Personality ⇒
Akari often makes awkward social situations. She's in tune with her body and what she wants and finds it all apart of the human/demon experience, so why deny it? Or with hold talking about it? She has no problem in telling someone their breasts look great, or that the clothes their wearing makes them look fat. She often has trouble learning to hold her tongue. She's often very playful as she finds soulful, depressing moments awkward, and not sure how to handle them, she often defends her self with humor or awkward sexual advances, if not removing herself from the situation entirely. Though she does know how to be serious when need be, and is very loyal to her family, it doesn't stop her from having her fun in seeing their reactions to some of the things she says or does. But don't think her humor or jokes are vulgar, she tries to do such things in a classy subtle, not so subtle way, though it all depends on her prey.

☸ History ⇒
Akari was born to a decent enough couple. Her father was a psychologist and her mother a pediatrician. Though when they found out she was cursed with the Dog, they had no problems having the main house raise her. Her father proclaiming the huge impact the curse had was enough to tare apart their marriage. But the two promised to visit and to keep an open mind, and maybe one day, they'll accept her. It was mostly Akari's father who was having issues accepting her. Constantly going on self soulful searches to figure out why he couldn't accept her, he became a shut in. While her mother constantly visited the main house to check up on her, and to do the necessary check ups Akari needed herself, ever so over protective for her daughter's health and nutrition, constantly making sure she ate the proper foods, and had proper exercise.
Growing up in the main house, at first seemed, awkward. The supposed "head of the family" didn't seem to know what he was in for when it came to the cursed zodiacs. Akari didn't like him. He wasn't the true Jade Emperor, and she knew it. She became a tantrum child, and would constantly find ways to cause hell for the Head of the Family. Where the true Jade Emperor was, she didn't know, but he wasn't here. The head of the family learned to deal with the misbehaving little girl, by constantly putting her in a small dark empty closet. The girl soon became fearful of small dark places, and her true form would come out, scratching at the walls and door, ramming herself against it.. That small closet soon became known as "the dog house", as Akari had wrecked it to the point of no other use but as her punishment. Often passing out after trying to get out, Akari's mother would often times be the one to carry her back to her room. Torn on what to do, she couldn't take her home in fear of her father having a relapse, and not understanding why she was acting out towards the head of the family, all she could do was treat her little girl's self inflicted wounds, and be scolded every now and again from the head of the family for her daughter's monster-like behavior.
One day, Akari felt something soothing present, she became calm and relaxed in the main house, but only slightly. There was a presence on the estate that she longed to be near, and often times would try to find it. But the Head of the family had a constant watch on her, so Akari continued her antics, knowing that the real head of the family would make an appearance soon. Sure enough, when she was 11, Takami took his rightful place as the head of the family. A calm came over the girl, as the main house was now a home to her. Sure she had lived there all her life, but it wasn't until Takami took charge, that it then became a home. The "Dog house" was fixed and painted and treated like a proper closet, though every now and again Akari would hide away in there if she felt like she was in trouble or did something wrong.
With Akari calm and enjoying herself at the main house, her mother and father relaxed and had another child. A boy, Seito, who often came to visit Akari with their mother as Akari's mother was still protective of her daughter's health. Their father occasionally came along to visit too. Accepting he may never accept his daughter as a cursed member of the zodiac, but trying to accept her as his daughter none the less. Inspired by his self motivation and his profession, Akari learned a lot about psychiatry and became amused by people's responses and self awareness
At 16 her mother died from a rare form of cancer. Devastated, her father became depressed, Akari knew the signs from his former teachings, and so helped him the best she could while trying to help raise Seito, but of course could only do so much when living in the main house, and having the two being opposing genders, she often had to give specific instructions to servants on how to care for them.
When the portal opened up, and Takami ordered them go through. Akari was nervous, to say the least. 23 years old, she was just getting to learn more about her brother, and vise-versa. And frightened on how her father would react. Only just being able to climb out of his depression from his wife passing a few years ago, Akari was afraid of a relapse. Then who would take care of Seito? But her father assured her it wouldn't happen, and Seito promised he'd look after him. A fairly good parting. But the spirit realm is proving interesting to get used to, and Akari longs to be near her father and brother again.

THE SNAKE User Image

█▓█▓▒▓▒░▒░

xxxxx▶ Name ⇒ Midori 'Hebihime' Sohma
xxxxx▶ Nicknames ⇒ Hebihime, Hime
xxxxx▶ Age ⇒ Seventeen
xxxxx▶ Gender ⇒ Female

█▓█▓▒▓▒░▒░

☸ Role ⇒
The Snake zodiac's demon form is that of a large, legless serpent that is sometimes described as white and sometimes green with golden eyes. The truth of her coloration is that it changes throughout the year. During the spring and summer, all but her belly is green. In the fall, that green fades into a white that remains all winter. This is the Snake's natural camouflage and she uses it for both hunting and hiding.

Unlike the snakes of the human realm, the Snake of the spirit realm is not as susceptible to the cold. She is, however, still weaker in the winter and does prefer to hibernate during the colder months. If it is necessary or needed, the Snake will come out during the winter time, but she is usually not very happy about it and is known to either complain a lot or get revenge on whoever it was that dragged her out in the cold.

The Snake has a poisonous bite and powerful coils. If the poison does not kill her prey, she squeezes them to death instead.

☸ Personality ⇒
Analytical and manipulative, Midori knows how to get what she wants. She likes to take her time in analyzing things so that she can make the most intelligent decision. However, because of her possessive and vain nature, she can sometimes be quick to jump to conclusions without fully thinking them through. She takes pride in her appearance and considers herself to be both creative and intelligent. Believing herself to be a perfect being, she looks down upon those who do not agree with her. She is quick to become defensive if anyone points out a flaw in the things she prides herself in. Being materialistic, she highly values luxury. In the human realm, she had used her manipulative skills to get her family members to buy her things. In the spirit realm, she chooses to use those skills to gain followers to do her bidding, which includes getting them to either give her some of their life energy or finding others for her to take it from. She is extremely possessive of followers that she gains, as well as of her "family", the other zodiacs. Having spent more years than she cared to count with them and the Jade Emperor, she views them as hers, although she will most likely deny actually caring for most of them.

☸ Pre-Human Realm History ⇒
The large, pale green serpent lay coiled deep within her cave the day it happened, as she had done every winter before. She had chosen that particular cave because of its proximity to a hot spring; it kept not only herself, but most of her followers warm as they hibernated during the cold of winter. Being one of the strongest and largest of her kind, she was called the Snake Princess, or Hebihime, by her followers and other demons.

Not all of her followers were snake demons. Some were lesser demons she had taken under her care for as long as they did as she bid them. Those who failed to hold up their end of the bargain were usually consumed. The duty of any of her followers who did not hibernate during the winter was to guard the entrance of the cave and protect the Hebihime and her followers inside. If a particularly strong demon were to intrude, their job was to send for her and hold the demon off until she could get there.

That is exactly what they had tried to do when a god showed up. Or so the tiny imp had said when it came running into Hebihime's chamber. It had said something along the lines of 'a super-strong demon' and 'no one being able to even distract it'. Groggy from sleep and angry from being awakened, the Snake was not in the best of shape for battling the god. Still, she knew she had to try to battle this 'super-strong demon'. Not only was the life of her followers at stake, but also her own if she failed.

Hebihime was no match for the god. Realizing he was a god and not just a strong demon, she knew that she would have had little chance at winning against him even in her best condition. She had tried to run away, but was too slow. Before she knew it, Takami had caught her and bonded her to him with a life-long contract.

☸ Human Realm History ⇒
In the human realm, Midori had been born the youngest child and the only girl of three children. Her parents had desperately wanted a little girl, so when they found that they were finally getting one, they had been overjoyed. They had conflicted feelings, however, when their baby girl transformed into a little green snake in her father's arms. At first they had thought that their youngest son and the hospital staff had collaborated to play a prank on them. When no babe was to be found and Midori remained a snake in her eldest brother's arms, the panicked parents called the main Sohma estate for help. An elder had shown up to take care of the matter, ensuring the hospital staff would forget about the event and explaining the situation to the young Snake's family. Not wanting to lose their precious daughter because of some stupid curse, the couple became overprotective of the girl. They moved into the main Sohma estate at the insistence of the elders, who claimed she would be better protected there with her fellow zodiacs than anywhere else.

Growing up as the only daughter of parents who were overprotective of her and only her, Midori began to feel like they only thought of her as a porcelain doll. Her older brothers had been told by their parents when they found out that they would be getting a little sister that they should always protect her. After she was born, they told her brothers to protect her with their life, for both her sake and the sake of the entire Sohma family. While her oldest brother took it very seriously, her second brother did not. He had become jealous of all the attention she received and became rebellious against his parents and older brother. Seeing it as an opportunity to escape her cage once in a while, Midori manipulated her second brother often. She "befriended" him, getting him to help her persuade their parents to let her attend public school. In turn, she used her friends to get her brother to continue helping her get away from home by letting him hang out with her and her friends (when their parents let her go out) and even getting some of them to date him.

Content with her materialistic life (as she was able to get her parents to buy her whatever she wanted) and happy with her possession of her second brother and friends, Midori was not so enthralled with being forced into the spirit realm and trapped within the shrine along with her snake spirit. Not that she hated being the vessel for the snake spirit, Midori fully accepted that the snake spirit within her was part of who she was and had even gotten it in her head that she was not cursed, but blessed and perfected by the god. She even believed that she was more perfect than any of the rest off the zodiacs and the personal favorite of the god. Even so, Midori felt stifled by the god's overprotective behavior towards herself and the others, feeling as though he was just like her parents in the human realm. The Snake became somewhat rebellious against the god after entering the spirit realm and being trapped in the shrine, deciding to avoid him like the plague until he would let her out.

█▓█▓▒▓▒░▒░

xxxxx۞ Other ⇒ Midori was five when Takami took over as the head of the Sohma family.
xxxxx۞ Other ⇒ Midori loves warmth. Few things make her happier than when spring rolls around and the temperature warms up. She is vain enough to believe that others were made to be her living, portable heaters during the winter, and in the human realm was known to use her female friends and family, males who knew of the zodiacs, and her fellow zodiacs as human heaters when she got cold.

█▓█▓▒▓▒░▒░

xxxxx▶ Name ⇒ Sayumi Vual
xxxxx▶ Nicknames ⇒ Yumi
xxxxx▶ Age ⇒ Early Twenties
xxxxx▶ Gender ⇒ Female

█▓█▓▒▓▒░▒░

☸ Role ⇒
The obedient and honored servant of Takami. Sayumi takes great pride in her role in life. It is her duty to see his shrine is tended to. Mending, washing, sweeping, mopping, shining, dusting, fixing, scrubbing, and prepping are all her responsibility. Some would be unhappy taking on a life of servitude, but Sayumi is still under a thousand years of age and could be considered a child in the demon realm. Before she was created, her father Vual promised she would be a servant to the Jade Emperor so long as he needed her. It was the safest possible place he could leave her while she grew up and away from those who opposed him. Even with his thirty-seven legions of demons, there was little he could do to prevent her elder siblings from killing her off. As a young demon, her usual form is rather small. She is roughly the size of a large hamster and appears as a small ball of a fur scooting across the floor. Her main characteristics are a small tuft of fur that serves as her tail and quite large ears. This is not her complete form, but still the baby stages in her life. She does have the ability to change into a human form and she prides herself in that. In her family, she is the first in this generation of children that is able to do so. Typically, she will stay in a human form except when sleeping. It is more comfortable for her to do so and much easier to get work done when she isn't barely a foot tall.

☸ Personality ⇒
When first meeting Sayumi it is easy to describe the girl as good natured, kind, and amiable in all respects. There is a natural curiosity to her that is appealing, and in company she does her best to try and make friends. Scratching the surface, Sayumi can pass as a very sweet young woman. Not a typical thing for a demon, but she owes most of her manners to Takami. Her upbringing was a lot different than her brothers and sisters, but she does occasionally have strange "ticks". It is a strange occurrence, but one moment she is sweeping the floor and the next she is hiding animal bones under the floor boards. Because of her age, she is still adjusting to this and trying not to give into her more demonic tendencies. It is typically frowned upon to be collecting bones.

☸ History ⇒
The most important part of her history involves her father. The greatest boast she has is being a daughter of Vual. Her father commands thirty-seven infernal legions of the damned and a troop of vicious demons whom are her brothers. She has very few memories of when she was a child, but her father tells her a story very affectionately to detail what happened to most of her sisters.

"I seized power, murdering and overthrowing my father. However, it was foretold that this particular group of children would be born. And amongst these children a daughter of my blood would in turn overthrow me. I devoured all of my children when they were born to prevent this. None of them had survived except you. I am Vual, and my infernal duties are to discern the past and present. It is also to predict the future. You were unpredicted to have lived, and so it shall be."

The story was something close to a bedtime story, and her only memory of her father. While she holds him in the highest of esteem, he left her in the care of the Jade Emperor at a young age. It is a story that details she could perhaps someday be great, and is a strong reminder to who she wishes to become. There is no telling what kept Vual from killing her that day. Perhaps he was tired of fighting fate, perhaps he decided this was a good means to an end, or perhaps he had some sort of comfort in his legacy continuing on through his daughter.

For a time, Sayumi was considered the weak link in Vuals family tree. She avoided getting killed as often as possible, but did not leave most scuffles without some marks. Her elder brothers still seek to kill her out of loyalty to their father. That sort of gesture was considered pleasing, and Sayumi has often dodging spears and avoiding being eaten. The idea never grew old to her siblings, and it was obvious why she was sent away to be in the care of a stranger.

In an effort to avoid any conflict till she was stronger, he sent her to the Jade Emperor. She tended to his shrine when he was not there, and as payment got to stay in a small room of her own with the protection of Takami. To this day, she is skittish around Takumi and worries often about making him angry. The naturally clumsy child puts a lot of effort into avoiding getting in his way. However, it does not keep her from being curious about him and his zodiac. Each of them are very strange to her, and she is often waiting for opportunities to try and impress them. Sayumi will go to great lengths to impress those whom she admires. Especially, when they appear to be more powerful than herself.

THE RAT User Image

█▓█▓▒▓▒░▒░

xxxxx▶ Name ⇒ Sohma Nao.
xxxxx▶ Nicknames ⇒ None; you can’t exactly ‘shorten’ Nao. A lot of people refer to him as ‘Nao-kun’, or sometimes tease him with ‘Nyan’ because he is the Rat, which in normal society are often prey to cats.
xxxxx▶ Age ⇒ He is eleven years old. Almost a teenager, and in his opinion, that means he’s practically old enough to rule the household.
xxxxx▶ Gender ⇒ One hundred per cent male.

█▓█▓▒▓▒░▒░

☸ Role ⇒
Nao’s demon form is not overly ‘strange’ in comparison to other spirits. It is a large rat, perhaps the size of a normal domesticated cat, with thick black fur and a long hairless tail. Its ears are pointed and scarred. Its snout is thick with an upturned nose and its jaws filled with needle-like teeth that are crooked and point in various directions. It has very small and sharp eyes, which are almost psychotic. Because it is small in comparison to the other Sohma demons it is quite difficult to catch; the Rat is fast on its toes and a wicked trickster, generally intelligent enough to lead any threats into traps, the most dangerous being its master, the God. Its size also makes it useful when it comes to squeezing through small spaces. Natural defences include its claws and teeth, and for soft hands its coarse, wiry coat. However, it lacks any other weapons. It can be easily overwhelmed by larger enemies and lacks any real protection against things like sharp or hard objects. It often relies on its fellow zodiacs to shield it. An interesting feature to the Rat is that it has learned to speak to humans, and if given the chance it will deceive them.

☸ Personality ⇒
Nao’s a charismatic and confident individual who is always willing to put in his two cents, regardless of whether or not people desire to hear his perspective. Not much – not even threats to his bodily health – can deter him, mostly because he is certain that his family would never be so upfront with their frustration. At first he will come off as affable, never going out of his way to avoid conversation, and is generally quite friendly. Despite his age Nao is intelligent. He might not compare to an adult or high school student in the sense of what information he knows, but he’s surprisingly comprehensive when it comes to reading the characters of others, and coming up with ideas to solve problems. In this sense he’d be a good politician, but more so because he knows how to be manipulative. Not many can avoid his ability to bend the wills of others; not without realising exactly what Nao is doing a little bit too late. Because he is so witty, he will quickly grasp the problems or desires of others and use them to his advantage. ‘I can help you,’ he might promise. But don’t trust a word of it. Like the so-called devil, Nao won’t give you anything – and if he does you can guarantee that it’s not going to be nice. Of course, some family members are an exception; he’s protective of the ones he loves. However, he is very biased and judgemental and will decide who he does and does not like within a short period of time. It is difficult to change his opinion as he is stubborn, but evidence will make this process significantly less painful. Emotional issues are much more difficult because the Rat is so conservative and does not like to portray many of his feelings, especially negative ones, although his passionate rage might escape in a few curt comments or even a rebellious gesture. He is insecure with how other people view him and thus keeps his sorrows to himself, receding to a quiet part of the house if he feels he has to cry – or, better yet, just plotting on how he’ll get his revenge, because Nao enjoys his payback. His calculated decisions and deceptive nature make him appear charming, but Nao will go out of his way to find something he can exploit. He’s surprisingly good with extortion. One has to wonder where this child got all of his unique traits and skills from …

☸ History ⇒
Nao was the product of something ‘wrong’. Born to an underage Sohma woman and without any knowledge of who his father was (it was kept a secret from him, a fact that later caused the boy to have nothing but contempt and disgust for his sole parent) his first few years of life were nothing special. His mother developed post-natal depression and neglected her son for the first few months of his life, but Takami had been wise enough to send servants and money after the woman had so stubbornly refused to hand her son over. These people cared for Nao. Eventually his mother recovered after many visits with various psychologists, but their relationship never fully healed. Most might assume that the woman was just so ashamed of the fact that she had not been able to care for her baby efficiently, but Nao – positive little thing, he is – was sure that he was simply hated. After all, it had to be the curse. His only guardian remained distant up until the age of four, at which point the God had had enough. He sent a pair of young men to take Nao away and raise him ‘as a Zodiac should be raised; with love and compassion’.

It would be four years, when Nao became eight, before he realised that his adopted parents were also cursed. Shigeru and Yuuki Sohma had been in the last generation of Zodiacs, or so they liked to call it. This had made them suitable guardians because they could trade useful tips in avoiding women, while not providing the threat of transformation themselves as they were men. Although a bit immature, they were good parents to Nao … perhaps a little bit too good. He was spoiled by the former Pig, Shigeru, with materialistic items; whatever he asked for he received, whether it be fancy food, new toys, or ‘cool’ clothes. Yuuki was less giving than the Pig in terms of physical objects, but was willing to spend the time that Nao needed with a parent. They’d play sports, or talk about girls, and sometimes debate to satisfy the Rat’s passion for an argument. But not all good things can last. That was the uncomfortable lesson that Nao learned at age nine, when Takami arrived to ‘take him home’.

Takami-senpai, as Shigeru called him, was a scary person even in Nao’s eyes. The prospect of leaving with this man terrified and infuriated the Rat. One can only imagine how badly this event went for all four, but of course the God was successful; he always was, wasn’t he? But he didn’t win the boy’s custody without earning a few wounds. “I HATE YOU!” Nao shrieked at him when one of the snow-haired man’s thugs picked him up and started carrying him away. “YOU’RE A MONSTER!” He has never apologised for those words, nor said anything that might nullify them, such as ‘I love you, senpai’. In his eyes, Takami will always be a beast, and this household of demons will never quite be the family he’s desired.

THE CAT

█▓█▓▒▓▒░▒░

xxxxx▶ Name ⇒ Kazuo
xxxxx▶ Nicknames ⇒ N/A
xxxxx▶ Age ⇒ Late Twenties
xxxxx▶ Gender ⇒ Male

█▓█▓▒▓▒░▒░

☸ Role ⇒
The Cat Demon, at first glance, appears to be simply a rather large cat, save for the twin tails. However, this overt lack of physical prowess belies a much more sinister being. Beneath what can only be described as a fluffy exterior, is a demon quite in-tune with his spiritual abilities. His keen sense of sight is not limited to the physical realm. He, like many of his feline brethren, is able to see the Threads of Fate. More disturbing yet, he can interpret and manipulate those strings to his choosing… to an extent. It is this sort of ability that allows him to “see” into the future, grant good fortune, or bring about calamitous events. Not to say he can completely change the course of Fate. Instead, he simply sees into the future (to an extent) and is able to act in such a way that would allow him to alter events to his liking. It is his main means, alongside illusionary spells, of manipulating events in his favor – especially since Kazuo lacks the brute strength of a dragon or tiger. However, given his current status, he isn’t really able to tap into his full potential.

☸ Personality ⇒
Would it truly be that shocking to say that Kazuo acted very cat-like? He simply knows that he is better than everyone else and will not hesitate to make that clear. You could say that is where his sense of independence sprouts from. He loathes placing his trust in others when he could just as easily do it himself. There is nothing he finds more loathsome than to ask for help – in his mind such actions are for the weak and unskilled; hardly suiting someone of his regal position. As one can imagine, he is a handful to deal with (understatement). Due to his sense of superiority, he comes off as insubordinate, aloof and very moody. In other words, he can be quite the douche. However, it is his passion defines Kazuo, even if it is misplaced at times. To those he actually likes, he is protective and caring. However, he does expect the same sort of loyalty that he “grants” from them. Perhaps that was why he felt so betrayed by the Rat…

☸ History ⇒
It was a shame really. He had come to rather like that Jesse fellow. He wasn’t like the other human vessels, constantly trying to get on that man’s good side. Disgusting really, how he could only watch those humans practically beg for attention by their so-called “god.” No. Not Jesse. Oh most certainly the man was a bit foolish, Kazuo would grant that. He had denied the existence of the curse for so long, well after tangible proof had been shoved down his throat. Then again, the Cat supposed he had Jesse’s parents to thank for that. But he had learned. More than he could say for most beings, mortal or not. When the seal had weakened (courtesy of a rather crafty witch) Kazuo had almost felt guilty about allowing himself to seep into Jesse’s consciousness. Nothing too obvious, at first, a small suggestion here, a slight tug on his physical form there. The Cat would have been a fool not to take advantage of the curse’s weakened state.

Though… it had been utterly infuriating once Jesse had realized what was going on and began to fight back. Even more so infuriating, that he had become (and Kazuo almost spat this out with venom) friends with ‘Takami.’ Maybe that was why he had felt so little grief when passing through the portal. As commendable as most of his existence had been, Jesse had worn out his welcome. Empowered by the effects of the portal, the Cat overwhelmed the pitiful being. Consuming the human down to the last heart beat, he took command of the body.

By the time they had passed through the portal, Kazuo had all but destroyed any likeness to Jesse the physical form had. He was rather pleased to say that Takami had a nice little shock with that present. It served him right too – forcing him to stay in the temple. He wasn’t some house cat to be tamed and kept in a little box. Let the other ‘demons’ stay with their beloved ‘god.’ Still… he would tolerate it. For now. Until the right opportunity presented itself. It wasn’t as if he felt any sort of twinge of guilt when he looked upon the others. Most assuredly he felt nothing akin to loneliness. Such things were reserved for those pets.

THE HORSE

█▓█▓▒▓▒░▒░

xxxxx▶ Name ⇒ Sohma Ikuto
xxxxx▶ Nicknames ⇒ Itchan
xxxxx▶ Age ⇒ Twelve
xxxxx▶ Gender ⇒ Male

█▓█▓▒▓▒░▒░

☸ Role ⇒
The Horse transforms into a towering, eight-legged beast twice the size of an average-sized horse. It is golden brown in color, with a mane composed of sharp quills. No one except the God may approach this beast lest they be immediately trampled by its mighty hooves. And even if one suceeded in taming the Horse, it allows only one rider and throws all others off. The Horse is wild, snorting and stomping at anyone who dares to approach it. It is capable of running at great speeds and desires complete freedom, but cannot get it. The Horse was once able to fly, but this is no longer the case and it cannot run as swiftly as it used to. It has great strength and is capable of smashing through brick and concrete, but it's strength has been halved. The eight legs are bound with rings and only one can release them. With the rings on, the Horse is bound to only one owner, the God.

☸ Personality ⇒
Ikuto is almost pathetically clumsy. He's slipped, tripped, and fallen more times than he can count. Against all laws of nature, he'll find something to fall over. He takes all of these unfortunate accidents with a nervous laugh and a quick shrug because he's learned it's just easier to laugh and accept. He's very friendly, but a bit shy at times, especially when he doesn't know what to do and when meeting new people. He wants to observe all proper social conventions, but sometimes has a few slip-ups when he doesn't know just how he should address a person. Many of his opinions make people think he's naive, especially his belief that everybody would get along so much better if they just smiled more. He's extremely goodhearted and, likely due to his upbringing, very eager to please. This behavior makes him quite susceptible to the influence from others and an easy target to be taken advantage of. In addition, Ikuto's a terrible liar, but not because he has some moral stance against lying. He just finds it hard to keep secrets when confronted by others, especially when those others show him their frightening faces.

☸ History ⇒
Junichiro's marriage to Yuzuha was strictly a business-like partnership. He had no say in the matter, which suited him just fine. Growing up, he'd seen a lot of problems surrounding love and marriage and had formulated the opinion that love had no business in marriage. Love caused problems and led to disasters. Yuzuha had similar feelings and the two got along fine. When they met, they both found out that they had similar interests and ideas on several important matters. Even though they claimed love had nothing to do with their compatibility, their families did find that the two had a certain kind of affection towards one another. It was the little things, such as the invasion of personal space to pick off a piece of lint or straighten a lock of hair. Their match was deemed a success, but everyone was quite surprised when a child came along just five months after they were married. This caused a minor scandal, but the scandal surrounding the "premature" birth died down as soon as they discovered he was cursed or, in the eyes of his parents, defective. How could they have a defective son? It just didn't make sense.

The parents approached their son cautiously, as though he were a ticking time bomb. Since he was defective, they thought he could become somehow whole if he outshone everyone else. Nobody would complain about an intelligent child, even a defective one, so Ikuto grew up with his parents hovering over him, urging him to meet their expectations. When he failed to pass the entrance exams for the highly competitive schools his parents had tried to enroll him in, their disappointment was palpable. Still, they kept trying until they found a school that fit their standards and accepted him. From the first day he started school, his time was managed with a rigid schedule. A huge chunk of time was reserved solely for schoolwork. He had to be better than the other children because his parents had been better. And didn't he want to make them proud? Didn't he want them to be happy? His parents weren't unkind. They thought they were acting in Ikuto's best interests, but they didn't understand that Ikuto wasn't exactly like them. Remarks about their son's excellent behavior in class received lukeworm smiles. Only the reports on his stellar grades were cause for celebration. Kindness didn't matter. Excellence did, especially for a defective product.

Even so, at school, Ikuto was very well-liked by his classmates, though that might have been because he was always the first one to volunteer to do all those unpleasant chores and he always lent people his homework to copy. His grades may not have been as perfect as parents desired, but they were good enough for his classmates. One day, his parents announced that Ikuto was to go on a trip. They delivered the news as tonelessly as they always had, so Ikuto thought nothing of it. He just asked where they would all be going, but his parents quickly clarified that only he was going. Ikuto didn't sense anything wrong until those final moments before being pushed into the portal. As much as he'd like to forget it, he simply can't forget how he had rushed to his father in tears and pleaded with both of his parents to convince Takami to let him stay with them. He can't forget how his father pushed him away as though he hadn't seen him and how both of his parents had turned and walked away without once looking back.

█▓█▓▒▓▒░▒░

xxxxx▶ Name ⇒ Sohma Rui
xxxxx▶ Nicknames ⇒ Just Rui
xxxxx▶ Age ⇒ Twenty seven
xxxxx▶ Gender ⇒ Female

█▓█▓▒▓▒░▒░

☸ Role ⇒
The Rooster is a rather unremarkable creature. Its eyes are blue and its feathers are a curious mix of red and pink. It is a bit bigger than the average rooster, but doesn't appear to have any other distinguishing features. It is said that the blood of this creature is used in making wishes come true, especially the more difficult kind that require an extra bit of supernatural help. The Rooster is capable of flying high and towards great distances. It can carry several times its own weight and can be used as a messenger by others. It is also said that the Rooster's life can be exchanged for another's, but this is an uncertain claim since no one has ever attempted to kill the bearer of the Rooster to find out if this is true.

☸ Personality ⇒
Rui comes off as very cold and matter of fact. She has little time to waste and doesn't seem to like spending time lazing around. She has to keep her hands busy at all times and is definitely the sort of person who doesn't suffer fools gladly. It seems as though she doesn't have a sense of humor. Upon hearing a joke, she'll just stare blankly at the speaker for a few seconds, then move on with her tasks. She takes it upon herself to clean until everything shines and when she cooks, the meals are usually extravagant and well-decorated. She does not like to create needless waste and is always looking for things to mend and patch. Finding a way to use leftovers to create a new meal is one of her favorite things to do. She operates with methodical precision, never leaving one speck of dirt or even the slightest hint of disorder behind. Rui is also very thoughtful, but not always in the way people think she is. Yes, she likes having order, but she also likes doing nice things for people as long as they don't know it's her. She has difficulties accepting praise and kindness from others and generally keeps to herself, trying to keep the feelings she can barely control bottled up in her heart.

☸ History ⇒
Rui doesn't really remember her parents. She remembers waiting for them in her grandmother's kitchen with a plate of nasty food in front of her. Grandmother had forbidden her from leaving the kitchen until she had finished eating and Grandmother was never to be disobeyed because she was a very frightening woman. She was swinging her legs back and forth, stubbornly refusing to eat because she knew her parents would take her home and give her something way better to eat as soon as they came back from work. Grandmother hated her. It wasn't some childish delusion because Grandmother had told her so several times before. She was an evil, cursed child who didn't deserve anything good, but Rui never believed her because her parents were always so kind to her and told her that Grandmother was just a sad person who didn't really know how to talk to people. Maybe if Rui was nice, then Grandmother would be nice too.

Perhaps, if her parents had picked her up from Grandmother's house that rainy night, Rui would have grown up to be a very different person. Perhaps she would have been as kind as her parents. But her parents never came home. Grandmother was the one who told her that her parents had been killed in a car accident and immediately repriminded her for crying. That marked the day that Rui started to change. Before, she had been an ordinary, carefree girl. A very noisy and chatty girl with a habit of climbing trees and playing on swings. Slowly, she turned into aa withdrawn and silent little girl who never raised her head for anything. Life with Grandmother was difficult. She never praised her, only pointed out her mistakes and destroyed her efforts, forcing her to start from scratch again. She never said one loving thing to her. Over time, Rui forgot to be kind to Grandmother. Grandmother hated her, so Rui would just hate her right back.

In school, she was an unremarkable student, but excelled in the arts and had quite a talent for sewing and embroidery. Oddly, this pleased Grandmother and made it the one bragging point she had about Rui. She presented her granddaughter to people who were strangers to Rui and doted on her when they were around, but reverted back to her old ways once they were gone. As time went on, Rui grew more and more depressed until it got to the point where she could hardly function. She contemplated a lot during those times, wondering what would be the best way to rid herself of Grandmother. She came up with a series of gruesome ideas, but before any could come to fruition, she learned that she, along with all her other cursed brethern, was to leave this familiar world and cross a portal into another. She accepted her fate with something akin to relief, but when she saw how Grandmother's face fell, it took all her strength to run back to the only family she had left.
