St Alexiel

Divine Berserker

"Lord Rosiel, are you sure you want to do this now? Perhaps it would be best for you to rest a while first? Let Kirie and I arrange the details of your visit, with the officials at the prison?"

It was true, Rosiel did look as though he needed some rest. He seemed very much on edge, at the least; he could do to calm down a little. And while Katan was almost certain Rosiel would not listen to him, he had to try.

Lord Rosiel stared at him for a few moments, his eyes slowly filling with rage, though Katan held his gaze and tried to remain calm.

"Do I look like I need rest, Katan?" Rosiel retorted coldly. Katan averted his eyes, 'well, actually...'

"I don't want to wait to see her, Katan. I have waited longer than your life span to see my sister. I want to see her now."

Katan only stared as Rosiel strolled gracefully, if petulantly, across his office. A pace from the door, he stopped and turned around. Folding his arms across his chest, and looking expectantly at his servant.

'...right.' Katan gritted his teeth and hurried to get the door for his master. He had such a bad feeling about this, but there was no way he could let Lord Rosiel go through this alone.

As Katan opened the door, Rosiel gave him a perfect little smile... Perfect, in form, but a little too sugary, it never reached Rosiel's eyes, and only served to leave Katan empty inside.

Before he answered, Katan looked as if he would regret his words. And Rosiel was pretty sure that by the time he said them, he did.

"Lord Rosiel, are you sure you want to do this now? Perhaps it would be best for you to rest a while first? Let Kirie and I arrange the details of your visit, with the officials at the prison?"

Rosiel wanted to say, "Why the ******** are you asking me such stupid questions?" and he really wondered why. Katan knew that he wasn't allowed to see her. Hadn't Rosiel told him that they were forcibly kept apart? As he thought that, he began to get angry - not at Katan, but at Alexiel... and whatever it was that was so wrong with him that it was making all of this happen. He held his tongue for a short while, waiting for the anger to dissipate, but it did not. He sat up in his chair and instead replied coldly to his son:

"Do I look like I need rest, Katan?"

He heard Katan mumble, "Well, actually..."

Anger seared through him again, and he was annoyed. He gritted his teeth, at the same time wondering sadly what beast inside of him was making him so angry at one that he loved so much. Screaming and shouting wouldn't do anything...

"I don't want to wait to see her, Katan. I have waited longer than your life span to see my sister. I want to see her now."

The tone in which he said it stung even him. There was no repairing the damage, now. Best to just get it over with. He stood from his seat, and was going to say something... but for once, Katan looked slightly angry. Perhaps that was his way of expressing how hurt he was? Rosiel couldn't force Katan to come with him... no more than he could force Kirie.

There was no way he had any right to force any soldier to break the law. And stealing someone away from Mathey was definitely against the law. He walked to the door, and then stopped. Katan hadn't moved. Was he still angry? He didn't want his son to have further reason to think he needed rest and whisk him away to sleep. So, he turned on his heel, and folded his arms across his chest, raising a brow.

It's never failed before.

And it hadn't, then. Katan mumbled something again, and quickly sped to open the door for Rosiel. Keeping in his "******** off, a*****e" show, Rosiel gave Katan one of his famous smiles... sweet and sugary, while his eyes still burned with a cold fire. He was still angry... yes... but it was never at Katan.

When Katan turned his back to step outside, Rosiel's expression changed.

Please,he thought. Please understand this... I'm not mad at you, I love you. I can't tell you, but please understand because... because you may never see me again.

But, of course... he couldn't say it.

She was getting sleepy. Sleepier, possibly, than she'd ever been before in her entire life.

Was this the effects of boredom? ... Well, shoot. In this span of time, she could have been doing so many other things... Like, studying. Or...or...

...zzz. The harder Kirie tried to keep her eyes open, the worse it became; how long'd those two been in there, anyway?! Going over a map, her foot! Hmph! Did they really take her for that much of an idiot?! She'd attempted to listen in to their conversation, and had remained with her ear pressed to the door for a good... five or so minutes, to no avail. Of course, she wasn't bold enough to crack the door open to peer inside... (That'd get her killed, for sure, if Lord Rosiel were in as bad a mood as he'd seemed.)

Their private meeting was stretching onwards into forever. Damn it. So far, the checklist spanned from failed spying, counting the tiles of the hall, pondering hopscotch with the tiles to keep herself busy(which she'd not done, to save some dignity), until now, her legs had grown tired of her leaning against the door, and she'd resigned to sitting against it instead. Slumped over, as she battled the fierce opponent known as 'sleep'.

Oh... how badly she was losing...

At this point, she didn't care about Lady Alexiel, she didn't care about Prime Minister Sevotharte or Lord Metatron, and she certainly didn't care about what Katan and Rosiel were doing behind the door pressed to her back. Yes, that's right; she said it. She. didn't. care. what. those. two. male. angels. were. doing. She could count off all the things they could be doing, but, damnit, damnit, damnit...

Damnit. Her mind was sent a'wanderin' again. Right back into the same clearing as Rosiel and Alexiel. This time, she had no reason to hide the blush; not that she liked the visions or anything. She hated them, with a burning passion more fiery than the sun itself. If any a time she wanted to bleach out her brain, or lose fragments of her memories, this'd be it. Hands-down. Because that was the last thing she'd ever wanted to come across.

In turn, it set an alarm off in her. What if-- ... what if they were doing that? C-could they? Would Lord Rosiel really--

No, no. More importantly, would Katan really--?!

And without realizing it, the senseless thoughts drove her straight back down into Dreamland. That's what those two got for leaving poor Kirie outside so long, and without anything to do.

This time, the peaceful moment was shattered not by her own fighting, but by an outside force. A rather painful one.

The door she'd been camping against was opened, smacking her both awake and into a surprised sprawl forward. She let out a yelp.

"What's your problem--?!" That's when it finally--finally--hit her where she'd been this entire time. She wasn't embarassed, exactly. Moreso... annoyed. Annoyed at her previous neglect by the two exiting, and annoyed by her own boredom that'd cased the playing scene to unfold. She turned to glare up at Katan. "It took you long enough."

Slowly, drowzily, Kirie pulled herself up to her feet again, brushing at first her skirt, then her legs themselves, and too the rest of her uniform. Especially the vest. The vest was horrible with attracting dirt and other unwanted bothers. First one foot was tapped on the marble below, then the second, to regain her bearings and balance, and to wake up each tingling appendage.

Now that that was out of the way, her arms folded across her chest. It was evident that, at the moment, she was not a happy camper.
