This poem was meant for the contest this month, but I was too late. Oh well, hopefully there will be a next time! It's about my last relationship and how the whole thing turned out to be a lie.



I was your doll, your toy, your puppet.
You told me your weaknesses and said you loved me,
Lies that acted as strings to control my heart.

I was your doll, your toy, your trophy.
You didn't see who I was or how I felt,
Only a pretty face to show off to your friends.

You were my dream, my prince, my only.
I gave my heart to a lie,
But I do know this is true:

I'll never belong to ANYONE ever again.
