X-Men Origins: Wolverine

So, has anyone NOT seen this movie yet?
My brother found it on the internet and we watched it. I missed like, the firsty twenty minutes or so, though...

I've seen it. Got any gripes? I do, but I'll let you guys go first. biggrin

I didn't really have a problem with it... but...
At the end, I laughed... hysterically. <<
We're watching him walk off into the sunset and, jokingly, I'm like, "Psh.. I'm waiting for him like... to get shot or something."
Then you see a gun...

I hated Gambit's character.

Despised. Loathed.

Couldn't keep the accent right, didn't even have his eyes right - and if you listen, when he's climbing out of the hole in the wall after Logan, you hear someone go "Taylor!"

That, and they killed all the cool guys. Other than that, I love the movie.

They killed everyone's character.

My gripes:

-Since when are Emma Frost and Silverfox sisters?

-Did anyone else just LOVE the swords coming out of Deadpool's arms that were longer than his arms? Among the other massive character flaws with this one..

Also. I may be wrong, or just kind of grossed out by the thought but seeing as how Gambit was not a young child, and this was set in the 80's ( I believe) that would make him significantly older than Rogue. Kind of gross.

There's many many more. But I don't feel like frustrating myself. At least it was better than X3

How was it better than X3? I hated the whole Jean Gray thing, but I still thought that movie was better.

Alright so maybe it wasn't better... But Uh. Brett Ratner didn't direct Wolverine.
Also, despite what they did with the character, seeing Gambit presented was what won it over for me. Those are really the only reasons I've got.
Don't get me wrong, I think they did horrible, horrible things with all the characters in Wolverine and was very dissapointed.
Another point would be I guess, is that X3, even though it had continuity issues, was very self contained whereas with Wolverine, they went into the past and completely changed things. That's not okay by me.
I'm really torn. From the perspective of a purist, I don't like any of them, really. But from the perspective of someone who has no idea anything about X-men I can see them being entertain in the least.

Hey, hey, that last bit better not have been directed at me. lol I'm a total freak about X-Men. I just can seperate the movies from the original stuff and enjoy it for it's own thing.

And I still don't think it was that bad.

I still hate how they did Gambit. I did think about the age difference he would have with Rogue, but seeing as how they screwed everything else up - *cough*EmmaFrostandSilverfoxbeingsisters*cough* - I didn't even care at that point. Especially since I hated the character at that point anyway.

Which sucked, since I love Gambit to death. gonk
