I really want to start watching more films in French, but i dont like the cutesy movies like Amelie. I like films to have a deeper feeling..Like hte movie "Persepolis"

Also, please tell WHAT kind of movie it is (Horror, romance, action, drama, etc)

My favorite French movies are :

Bienvenue chez les Chtits (Comedy)
Les visiteurs (Comedy)
Wasabi (Comedy, Action)
Le Père Noël est une ordure (Comedy)
Astérix et Obélix Mission Cléopâtre (Comedie)
Cuisine Américaine (Comedy)
Les aristots (Comedy)

I mostly like French comedy.

I watched a really good French movie last week called De l'autre côté du lit, it has Sophie Marceau and Dany Boon (who was in Ch'tis). It's a great comedy.

Les aventure de Rabbi Jacob is a classic. Or any other movie with Louis de Funès. (Les grandes vacances is another favourite of mine)

Le Diner de Cons is another classic, except more recent.


...well that's all I can think of right now, but if you're interested in films that are *in french* and not necessarily from France, there are even more I can think of (me being a native french speaker, but not from France! mrgreen )

I've seen and have plenty of french films... My favorite would have to be
Les Visiteurs (Comedy) *They redid it on english.. but it's not the same*

Apres Vous (Comedy)
He loves me He loves me not (psychological thriller)
