Just putting my two cents in there, but if I were a betting man, I would say that the user above is rebelling against their Christian upbringing. Heck, if parents didn't force children to go to church at Christmas, we probably wouldn't have as many angstheists running around. Of course, there are a few self styled pagan and atheist users who think that by them claiming to be homosexual and non-Christian, it makes it logical for them to use Leviticus and other Old Testament things to try to belittle the Christians. One user that comes to mind that I have had many dealings with over the years is a hypocrite in her hatred of Christianity.
I thought they would have gotten past it by now. Especially since they love to go on about how religion isn't a big deal in Canada and they supposedly don't have that problem.

im getting sick and tired of being given crap by some christians because of my sexual orientation and im sick of people in the glbt community giving me crap because im christian. i dont know why on earth is such a big deal for me to like women and have faith in god at the same time.
I'm sick of it too. You'd think that since the Episcopals, Lutherans, and (I'm starting to hear now) the Presbyterians are accepting gay/lesbian marriage and gay/lesbian clergy, that it would have been settled by now.

There are some of the things I've noticed. Caring about you while having misunderstandings are the big ones especially, if these people are close to you. One side doesn't want to see you "sin" or "go to hell" while the other side might not want to see you "waste your time", "go through hardships", "support a 'hate group', etc. The other one is being unable to reconcile and recognize that there is no conflict and using this alleged conflict to define themselves and defend their bigotry.

how old was the person? that sounds like the kind of response i hear from teenagers trying to sound deep and mysterious.
Somewhere in their late 20s, early 30s.

also hating christianity is the cool thing to do it seems rolleyes
I try to keep apple and oranges in mind. What they are calling Christianity, is not what I practice though what I do is called by the same name. They left Christianity, so they gave up the right to tell me "I'm doin' it wrong". Why should I quit my religion over something that someone else was unable to reconcile? It's hard to do especially when I get into a depressive state, but it's what keeps me sane.

true. im just happy that i have a wonderful family and best friend who really dont care what i believe or who i find pretty

okay since this is for venting...

I highly highly don't like my older brother right now. For the past couple weeks he has asked me to come out and help him on his farm, not a big deal (just a big shot in the gas.) Well, this past week he and three other people was outside in the barn doing work, while I was working. The work they was supposed to do was building stables. What they did was sit out their talking, and his girlfriend was inside talking to her guests...complaining about everything wrong with guys(including me while I am within ear shot of their whole conversation)... leaving the only one doing anything, out of 15 people, me. Now he wants me to come back out to help with the projects they didn't get done.

Her conversation made me rethink, wanting a girlfriend.

I honestly wouldn't take conversations like that to heart. We can take any person and nitpick to find anything wrong with them. Stay true to yourself.

That really sucks that you were the only one doing work. I think you'd be in every right to turn them down about going back out there if you want to that is.

I would like the media and people in general to stop holding to the false actions or false information of those involved in Columbine. One of the things I would like people to stop harping on is that the gun men were rejects who targeted only Christians. They weren't and they didn't. Thank you.

I wasn't there, so I don't know the truth. What I do know is, I only know that two guys entered Columbine and started to shoot. Who the victims were... as far as I care, the victims could have been Broadway Playboy/playgirl bunny wantabies... it is a crime and a cowards tactic to attack unarmed people

My boss now knows that I'm leaving. They are supposed to be getting the schedule together at Ramada sometime tomorrow (should have had it up by Sunday). The kicker. My boss is cutting my hours for next to train someone new. ********. I can't help but think this is out of spite, especially when I told her that I don't know when I'm starting at the new hotel job.

I want to take on the world... but I can't...

I have had a really off day... for the last 2 weeks...

I lost my truck and my computer, just about the time that they could have truly helped my household out financially...

Then, to make matters worse, I got on Facebook today to four of my friends requesting prayer for their family... My friend's stepson was killed in Afghanistan Tuesday, and they just got the news Wednesday... I was kinda in shock, he was supposed to be coming home next week for good... What's worse... the last post he made was Tuesday morning telling his family how excited he was to be coming home this weekend, and that he was thankful for having stayed safe for his tour... He had called his Grandmother Monday, and that is the last person stateside he actually has talked to... My heart hurts so bad right now for that family...

...and the family down the road from us.... Saturday morning, one of the men in their family went behind their house and blew his brains out... We heard the gunshot... we cheered because we thought someone got themselves a deer (it's deer season)... shortly after we heard the sirens, and my brother found out the truth on his radio (he is a first responder)...

Why is this time of year, which is supposed to be the happiest always so depressing?...

Sorry for the delay. I'm so sorry to hear about all the depressing events going on. sad My heart goes out to you.

I don't know why it seems like the holidays are so depressing but I feel ya. Lots of love to you. I hope things get better soon.

Well, I never would have realized that you gave me a late response, I haven't been able to get on this weekend... We have had company all weekend...It is a good distraction...

Still not a perfect weekend though. We had originally planned to be in Ohio for Thanksgiving, but those plans fell through... It was OK though because my brother and sister and their kids would be coming north from Texas for Thanksgiving, so I wasn't going to have to miss them for going to Ohio...

We just got the news last night that no one is going to be able to make it here for Thanksgiving though...

We always have a very full house for Thanksgiving, but now it looks like nothing will be happening. This isn't going to work for me.... Anyone need a place to hang out Thursday? Lots and lots of good food, and good company!

I have a few thoughts on this and being around mental patients lets me listen to what they have to say.

Money. People want to be able to buy family and friends gifts, but because of loss of jobs or loss of hours or the rise in cost of everything, they are not able to buy their friends/family the super delux kissing elmo.

Music. Since some stores start the Xmas music earlier and earlier each year, it just eats at people. Some radio stations have started playing the stuff November 1. Some stores start it in September. This may not seem like a big deal, but add it to the other factors and it can really frustrate people. It could especially frustrate people who do not like Christmas.

Weather. Generally, in a lot of states, the weather is colder and snowy. Cold weather affects mood swings as well as joint/muscular pain.

Decorations. STORES PUTTING OUT XMAS STUFF IN AUGUST. End of that analysis.

People. People, in general, seem to be ruder this time of year. Pushing others out of the way to look at that supposed brand new toy for children that was out for the last six months. Pushing people out of the way for that watch, that no other store on the planet sells. Etc.

People. Shoving the "tis the season to be jolly" down your throat in one breath while in the next telling you to ******** off and get bent because you didn't move out of the way or that you didn't tell them "God Bless" or any number of other responses.

People. Driving like bats out of hell to go shopping or to go to the charity events where they will feel good about themselves.

Lonliness. Some people feel more alone at Christmas than at any other time of the year. maybe their spouse or girlfriend died or left them. Maybe they have no relatives to visit. Maybe they even feel alone at a Christmas party that a friend or family member took them to, even knowing that said person hates this time of year.

There are other reasons, but I think these are the main factors that I have heard. Sadly, with the way the economy has been for the last decade at least, the first item on the list is one of the biggest.

Yeah...

That's a pretty good perspective...

... for some reason, I am noticing it more this year than before though...

I think what else is eating me is that there are so many families that could use the extra cheer, and this year, there isn't allot I can do to help with that...

It would be one thing if I could give a child or a couple children a Christmas present, or a a family a meal, or a roof until they get back on their feet, to at least make part of the year special... but I can't bring family members back from the dead...
