rmcdra Shanna66 im getting sick and tired of being given crap by some christians because of my sexual orientation and im sick of people in the glbt community giving me crap because im christian. i dont know why on earth is such a big deal for me to like women and have faith in god at the same time. I'm sick of it too. You'd think that since the Episcopals, Lutherans, and (I'm starting to hear now) the Presbyterians are accepting gay/lesbian marriage and gay/lesbian clergy, that it would have been settled by now. There are some of the things I've noticed. Caring about you while having misunderstandings are the big ones especially, if these people are close to you. One side doesn't want to see you "sin" or "go to hell" while the other side might not want to see you "waste your time", "go through hardships", "support a 'hate group', etc. The other one is being unable to reconcile and recognize that there is no conflict and using this alleged conflict to define themselves and defend their bigotry. Quote: @rmcdra how old was the person? that sounds like the kind of response i hear from teenagers trying to sound deep and mysterious. Somewhere in their late 20s, early 30s. Quote: also hating christianity is the cool thing to do it seems rolleyes I try to keep apple and oranges in mind. What they are calling Christianity, is not what I practice though what I do is called by the same name. They left Christianity, so they gave up the right to tell me "I'm doin' it wrong". Why should I quit my religion over something that someone else was unable to reconcile? It's hard to do especially when I get into a depressive state, but it's what keeps me sane.
true. im just happy that i have a wonderful family and best friend who really dont care what i believe or who i find pretty

I want to take on the world... but I can't...
I have had a really off day... for the last 2 weeks...
I lost my truck and my computer, just about the time that they could have truly helped my household out financially...
Then, to make matters worse, I got on Facebook today to four of my friends requesting prayer for their family... My friend's stepson was killed in Afghanistan Tuesday, and they just got the news Wednesday... I was kinda in shock, he was supposed to be coming home next week for good... What's worse... the last post he made was Tuesday morning telling his family how excited he was to be coming home this weekend, and that he was thankful for having stayed safe for his tour... He had called his Grandmother Monday, and that is the last person stateside he actually has talked to... My heart hurts so bad right now for that family...
...and the family down the road from us.... Saturday morning, one of the men in their family went behind their house and blew his brains out... We heard the gunshot... we cheered because we thought someone got themselves a deer (it's deer season)... shortly after we heard the sirens, and my brother found out the truth on his radio (he is a first responder)...
Why is this time of year, which is supposed to be the happiest always so depressing?...

rmcdra Sorry for the delay. I'm so sorry to hear about all the depressing events going on. sad My heart goes out to you. I don't know why it seems like the holidays are so depressing but I feel ya. Lots of love to you. I hope things get better soon.
I have a few thoughts on this and being around mental patients lets me listen to what they have to say.
Money. People want to be able to buy family and friends gifts, but because of loss of jobs or loss of hours or the rise in cost of everything, they are not able to buy their friends/family the super delux kissing elmo.
Music. Since some stores start the Xmas music earlier and earlier each year, it just eats at people. Some radio stations have started playing the stuff November 1. Some stores start it in September. This may not seem like a big deal, but add it to the other factors and it can really frustrate people. It could especially frustrate people who do not like Christmas.
Weather. Generally, in a lot of states, the weather is colder and snowy. Cold weather affects mood swings as well as joint/muscular pain.
Decorations. STORES PUTTING OUT XMAS STUFF IN AUGUST. End of that analysis.
People. People, in general, seem to be ruder this time of year. Pushing others out of the way to look at that supposed brand new toy for children that was out for the last six months. Pushing people out of the way for that watch, that no other store on the planet sells. Etc.
People. Shoving the "tis the season to be jolly" down your throat in one breath while in the next telling you to ******** off and get bent because you didn't move out of the way or that you didn't tell them "God Bless" or any number of other responses.
People. Driving like bats out of hell to go shopping or to go to the charity events where they will feel good about themselves.
Lonliness. Some people feel more alone at Christmas than at any other time of the year. maybe their spouse or girlfriend died or left them. Maybe they have no relatives to visit. Maybe they even feel alone at a Christmas party that a friend or family member took them to, even knowing that said person hates this time of year.
There are other reasons, but I think these are the main factors that I have heard. Sadly, with the way the economy has been for the last decade at least, the first item on the list is one of the biggest.
