The Lost City of Atlantis has been shrouded in myths for centuries. Some people doubt that it even exists at all.

However, some travelers have stumbled onto a special spot of the Bermuda Triangle during their trip and have found themselves tossed into a strange, ancient world inhabited by most curious creatures.

Only time will tell if they are fortunate or otherwise.

ReyesTyrannos

Reyes Tyrannos hated walking. Trudging through the woods, dragging his feet, the red-haired tyrannosaur shifter could do nothing but b***h and complain. "The ground was too rough," or "the sun was too bright", or even "the sky was too blue"; those were all things he complained about within a matter of minutes. Finally, he stopped and roared, "Argh! I am staaarving!!!" Several nearby birds took flight, and then silence fell over the forest as prey hid away from the dangerous predator among them. Slumping over, the hungry carnivore continued to trod along, grumbling to himself about how "starving" he was.

Reyes had gone a couple of yards when he suddenly straightened, sniffing the air energetically. He smelled... dinner! And it was upwind of him! Immediately starting to salivate, a grin spread across the red-head's face as he immediately went into "hunt mode". Creeping through the trees, he tread carefully so as not to make a sound, occasionally sniffing the air to make sure the wind didn't suddenly change direction and to check the location of his target.

Inching slowly closer and closer, Reyes stopped behind a tree when he heard soft footsteps getting closer. Licking his lips, the red-haired hunter crouched down and waited for his prey to get closer... and closer... and closer... Finally, a small dinosaur about half his size passed the tree he was hiding behind, and he pounced. "Aha! I caught you!" he crowed triumphantly as his arms wrapped around the small creature, "Now, time for a little snack!"

Suddenly, Reyes' "little snack" transformed in his arms, becoming a slightly bigger young woman who... promptly screamed in his face, causing him to loosen his hold on her in surprise. Wiggling out of his arms, the pale-blue haired girl got to her feet and immediately started to run away. Staring in disbelief for just a few seconds, the tyrannosaur shifter scrambled to his feet and took off after his naked prey, shouting belligerently, "Get back here! I'm starving, you little runt!"

❁ Azniv Lesoth ❁

For the little lesothosarus, the day was fine. Lonely, very lonely without her herd, but otherwise okay. She'd found a few bushes that tasted much better than what she'd been eating the last few days and was happy to spend the rest of the day simply relaxing and grazing. It wasn't as if she had anywhere to go or anyone to answer to, after all. All the little dinosaur shifter did was wander around, sometimes finding company in others for a little while before moving on, but more often than not trying not to feel too lonely. It wasn't the best existence, but it was peaceful, at least. And she didn't have to worry about the attention of most predators, as they seemed to go after herds to pick out the sick or weak. Being alone, she could hide easier.

Azniv liked the warm sun. She didn't mind the rain either, but the sun today was nice and warm on her scales and she could appreciate that. She was completely unaware of the predator in his human form stalking her, simply wandering alongside the riverbed and picking at the bushes she passed. It wasn't out of hunger, more like boredom. Not like there was much for Azniv to do, other than graze and see if she could smell any other herbivores to talk to.

When the hunter suddenly jumped out at her and grabbed her, she froze for a split-second as she got the scene. A tyrannosaur. A big one. A big dinosaur. A big predator. Her mind raced through several options, but being a 'little snack' was definitely not one of them. Figuring she had a better chance in her human form, Azniv shifted and screamed, partly out of fright, partly to try to startle him. When his grip loosened that small bit, she immediately wiggled free. As soon as her feet hit the ground, the young woman was sprinting away, hair that reached past her knees streaming behind her.

"I don't care how hungry you are, I'm not a snack!" she hollered back, not even looking over her shoulder. He couldn't catch her, not in human or dinosaur form, she knew she was too quick. But she had to get far enough away so he lost her scene. Heart racing, Azniv sprinted through the jungle, trying to smell out someone else who could help her. Not that there were a lot of dinosaurs who'd go up against a tyrannosaur, human or dino form. Not looking behind her to see how close or far he was, she kept running, going nowhere in particular.

After a few minutes into the desperate race, she caught the scent of a stegosaurus and could have cried in relief. Now, if only it would help her, she might actually live. Putting on a burst of speed, and screaming just to get its attention, Azniv almost ran right into the shifter, currently in her human form, and skidded around to hide behind her. "Don't let him eat me!" she begged, not even out of breath from the little chase.

PashaStegos

It was a beautiful, peaceful day. Or at least, that was what Pasha Stegos was thinking as she stood watch in her favorite spot overlooking where her herd used had once roamed. Looking out at nothing but empty space from the top of a cliff, she could see the portal to the human world from her vantage point. Letting out a sad sigh, the armored stegosaurus shifter quickly shook herself. "Turn that frown upside down," was what her brother would always say to her just before he would mess up her hair. It had annoyed her when she was younger, but she had gotten used to it and now she missed it. Funny how one doesn't realize what one has until it is gone. Smiling slightly at her memories, she straightened her spine and gazed out across the grasslands below, thinking about all the good times rather than the bad.

Drawn out of her deep thoughts by a scream behind her, Pasha turned around just as a naked, terrified lesothosaurus shifter almost ran into her. Blinking slowly back at the smaller young woman, the larger shifter started to say, "Why are you nak-" "Get over here, little snack! I'm starving, dammit!" Whipping her head back around in the direction that the younger dinosaur had come from, the blonde-haired woman spotted the tyrannosaur shifter rushing towards her, mouth wide open with sharpened teeth gleaming. Reacting on instinct, the armored stegosaurus whirled around, whapping the large predator upside the head with her tail that had sprouted out from behind her in the blink of an eye.

Stumbling back from the blow to the head, Reyes shook his head slightly, complaining loudly, "Owww! That hurt, dammit! What did you do that for?!" Glaring across at the two herbivores, he growled, "Give me my damn snack!" The hungry carnivore lunged once again, causing the armored stegosaurus shifter to hit him again with her tail. "You don't learn well, do you?" she said in a calm voice, "No one is eating anybody here. That is just rude and barbaric."

"Yes! Hit him again! Harder, this time! Show him who's-" When the younger dinosaur shifter's words were suddenly cut off by an alarmed squeak, Pasha whirled back around just in time to see her start to go over the edge of the cliff. Rushing to catch the small woman, the larger woman lost her footing as well, her tail catching the tyrannosaur as well and bringing him with the two herbivores over the cliff. Wrapping her arms around the lesothosaurus to protect her, the large stegosaurid dinosaur braced herself for impact, forming shields out of her arms and legs to protect them from the fall.

Hitting the ground with a loud clatter, the two females were soon after hit with a second one from above as Reyes landed on both of them. After taking a few moments to catch her breath, Pasha pushed the "great predator" off them, leaving him groaning on the ground next to them. Ignoring his moans of "Help!" and "Dying!", the large herbivore turned her attention to the younger woman, asking calmly in concern, "Are you alright?" Blinking her blue-green eyes slowly, she did a visual examination of the small lesothosaurus shifter for any injuries.

❁ Azniv Lesoth ❁

In all fairness, Azniv really hadn't meant to go off the cliff like that. She'd been so relieved the other shifter was apparently going to beat the hell out of the tyrannosaur, something she'd never seen before, that she'd gotten a little hyper. Well, sort of bouncing around excitedly, wishing she could take out the carnivore like that. It just looked like so much fun. The little shifter didn't see that the cliff edge quite so close, or narrow, behind her until her heel went over it.

"Yes! Hit him again! Harder, this time! Show him who's-" An alarmed 'squeak' interrupted her triumphant cheering when she lost her balance and started to go back over the edge. There was a brief moment of relief when the stegosaurus reached out and grabbed her and Azniv wrapped her arms around her torso desperately. It didn't help any when the other woman lost her balance and they went over. Azniv didn't see her wrap her tail around the carnivore, just buried her face against the woman's chest as they fell, waiting to be splattered on the rocks.

The little dinosaur didn't know the powers the armored shifter had and didn't realize they were shielded until they hit the ground hard, but not bone-crushingly painfully. Before she could catch her breath, there was another impact from above and she groaned as the weight of both larger dinosaurs squished her. Gasping for air, she sucked in a breath when the other woman shoved the stupid carnivore off of them and moved to sit next to the smaller woman rather than laying on her. Hearing the question, she nodded, sitting up. Sore, but nothing broken, she realized in relief. "I'm okay, just really sore," she admitted with a grimace, rubbing the back of her head.

Growling when she heard the male continue to b***h and moan, Azniv shakily got to her feet and wobbled for a moment before turning and giving him a solid kick in the ribs. "Oh, shut up, if you hadn't been trying to eat me nothing would have happened!" she snapped, giving him another kick before hopping back behind the stegosaurus. A white dress appeared on her in another second with a small flash, an ability all shifters had to avoid having to carry clothes or tearing them while changing.

Leaning a bit on the other herbivore for a moment as she got her balance back, Azniv took a breath. "I'm okay, thank you," she repeated, a little dazed. Shaking her head, she made a face and pushed her hair out of her electric-blue eyes after another moment, blinking a few times in an attempt to reorient herself. Azniv looked up and swallowed, seeing the height from which they'd fallen from, amazed they were in one piece. Even the stupid carnivore was alive, unfortunately.

ReyesTyrannos

Reyes yelped when the small herbivore started kicking him in the ribs, protesting in between each impact, "Stop, ow, kicking, ow, me!" When she finally did stop kicking him, the large carnivore moaned, "I was staaarving..." Dramatically throwing an arm over his eyes, he made noises as though he were crying. After a few moments, he peeked out from behind his arm to see if it was working before resuming his crocodile tears.

Pasha ignored the drama-king, getting to her own feet and looking around calmly at their surroundings. "It is going to be dark soon," she commented, then sniffed the air, adding, "And I smell rain in the air... A storm is coming, and we should find shelter before it arrives." The large herbivore thought for a few seconds before suggesting, "I know of a cave further along the cliffs that my herd used to use from time to time. It should be dry and have some supplies we can use."

"Who cares if you were starving, pick on someone your own size, you big bully!" Azniv retorted, giving him another kick when he started the crocodile tears for good measure. She sniffed at him, not believing him for one second, before scuttling behind the stegosaurus in case he got up to eat her. "It does smell like rain," she agreed, raising her head slightly to sniff at the air herself. She'd smelled it earlier, and then had gotten a little caught up in the 'who's eating who' game the idiot on the ground decided to play. She didn't have a shelter anyway, traveling so much. The little dinosaur just sort of found things as she went, truth be told.

Azniv brightened up a little at the idea of shelter, rather than sleeping out in the rain again, and not being alone. That was the worst part of it all, at least in her opinion. "I'm Azniv, by the way," she added quietly, looking up at the taller woman with big eyes. "So...I can stay with you? For tonight?" she asked meekly. She didn't see how the other herbivore could possibly mean the carnivore rather than her, but still. She didn't want to assume and then be kicked out.

PashaStegos

Pasha smiled slightly down at the much smaller woman while the carnivore continued to groan on the ground. "I'm Pasha," she said quietly. Reyes, who had given up on his fake crying, raised a hand and started to say, "I'm-" He was cut off when the small herbivore snapped, "Nobody cares!" While the tyrannosaur shifter sulked, the stegosaurus continued as if nothing had happened, saying calmly, "Of course you can stay with me, Azniv." Then, she turned and started to lead the way.

Reyes pushed himself to his elbows, calling out desperately, "Can... Can I stay with you, too?!" He hated the rain, and did not want to be out in it either. Pasha paused slightly, glancing back at the large carnivore. "You can," she said slowly, "Provided you behave yourself and don't try to eat either of us again." She placed a hand on top of Azniv's head, who seemed to be getting irate again at the large carnivore, the female stegosaurus saying calmly, "Calm, Azniv. My herd believes strongly in giving others a second chance." It was one of the many lessons her brother had taught her growing up, and was something she had taken to heart.

Gently patting the smaller herbivore's head, Pasha once again turned and started to lead the way, moving at a calm, sedate pace; the large herbivore never rushed unless absolutely necessary. Reyes scrambled to his feet, stumbling after the two females, calling out, "Wait! Wait for me!" The large carnivore was still slightly dazed from the fall, after all, and couldn't quite walk a straight line.

❁ Azniv Lesoth ❁

Azniv smiled back hopefully up at the other herbivore, beyond pleased when she got a smile back. It had been a long time since another dinosaur had smiled at her like that and it made the little one ecstatic. Of course, the tyrannosaur was another matter altogether - he'd tried to eat her! She didn't care what his name was! "Nobody cares!" she snapped over at him, around the other herbivore, puffing up as best as she could. Azniv had never really gotten the hang of making herself look danger-she could stay with her?

The little dinosaur shifter made a happy noise, ignoring the carnivore almost completely until he actually had the nerve to ask if he could come too. She almost hopped up and down angrily when Pasha said he could, but swallowed down her protests at Pasha's tone. The stegosaurus wouldn't let her get hurt, she'd already shown that. And if she thought the carnivore could be trusted enough to not eat them, then Azniv wouldn't argue. Well, she might grumble a little, but it made her nervous, having him around. He was bigger! But he had shrimpy arms in his dinosaur form, at least.

Padding after the larger herbivore, Azniv was glad she didn't rush around. It was hard enough to keep up with bigger dinosaurs in either form, sprinting after her was just embarrassing after a while. She glanced over her shoulder and snickered as the large male weaved and wobbled his way after them. He looked ridiculous. "So, what's your name then? Or can I call you doofus?" she asked brightly, unable to stop snickering as he almost tripped over his big feet.

"Don't call me doofus!" Reyes growled indignantly as he stumbled after the females, "The name is... Reyes... So don't... forget it." Placing a hand on the cliff to steady himself somewhat, the large carnivore complained, "Make the ground stop moving!"

"You probably have a concussion," Pasha called back calmly, "You'll heal." After all, all shifters possessed fast healing abilities, healing much faster than normal humans did. She sniffed the air, adding, "It isn't that much further to the cave. We are almost there." The large herbivore continued to amble along at a sedate pace, not in a particular rush to reach the cave. The storm was still a ways off, and the sun was still up.

Snickering quite happily at the carnivore's state, the little shifter kept close to the other woman as they walked, moving backwards so she could observe his stumbling and moaning. "I think I like doofus better," she said brightly, unable to get anything but enjoyment out of his suffering for now. He'd tried to eat her, she was up for a little revenge. And with the big herbivore there to beat him up, the normally-shy shifter was feeling a bit more confident. Plus, he couldn't even see straight.

She'd never been in this part of the land and looked around. Normally she avoided the sea, as some of the large carnivores that dwelled in it could come up on land and snatch someone up as small as she was. So she kept Pasha between her and the water, looking at it nervously.

Reyes glared at the small herbivore... or at least tried to, seeing as how he was seeing two of them. Blinking slightly, the tyrannosaur shifter first squinted, then shook his head in an attempt to clear it. "Stop calling me doofus," he finally growled irritably, "Or else I'll make you and your doppelganger into tasty little snacks..."

The large carnivore flinched slightly when Pasha turned around and looked at him silently with a raised eyebrow. "I'm just kidding!" Reyes said with his arms raised, "Just kidding..." The female stegosaurus continued to stare at him for a few more moments, causing the red-haired shifter to sweat slightly, before turning back around and continuing on her way without saying a word.

"You were saying, doofus?" Azniv asked tauntingly, walking backwards so she could stick her tongue out at the large predator. "Shut up, tasty snack..." Reyes growled back under his breath. The three shifters continued on their short journey after that, with the small herbivore continuing to taunt the large carnivore at intervals. Finally, they made it to the cave.

"Here we are," Pasha said calmly as she lead the way into the cave, "Go ahead and make yourselves comfortable. I'll get a fire started." The large herbivore started to rummage around for the necessary items to make a fire while Reyes sprawled down on a mat that was set up on one side of the cave. "Finally!" he exclaimed loudly, "I thought we would never get here!" There was a brief pause before he added in a whine, "I'm still hungry."

❁ Azniv Lesoth ❁

Oh, she was having so much fun! After all, how often did a little dinosaur like her get to make fun of a big carnivore like him and not have to fun for her life? Sticking close to Pasha as the other two followed her down the cliff, the little dinosaur skipped a bit, cheerful despite their predicament. There wasn't really any need for her to be mopey, she figured, since she was safe with Pasha. Life could be a whole lot worse! Like when he was trying to eat her! Skittering into the cave, the little female hopped around and then squeaked when he said he was hungry.

"He's gonna eat me!" she wailed, hiding over where Pasha was to avoid being made into a snack. The larger herbivore straightened and gave him a dirty look, and Azniv hid behind her when he began to flail and protest and generally plead not to get thumped again. Once she was convinced that no one was going to be eating anyone else here, Azniv gave Pasha much-needed space to start the fire and lowered herself down to the ground.

She glanced over at Reyes after a few minutes, looking more curious than anything else. "How can you be hungry? You're a big dinosaur, aren't you able to catch anything to eat?" she asked him. Even in his human form he was large and she couldn't see how he could be whining about being hungry. He didn't have to go hiding and sneaking around in case someone like him showed up for an afternoon snack!
