I don't much like Cloud. The story pretty much drills into you how pathetic he is. He falls for someone that he himself has no knowledge of, and far too quickly I might add. He's a failure of the Sephiroth Clone program due to him being so weak mentally. All of his memories throughout most of the game aren't even his, they're cough cough Zach's cough cough. Over all he's just a cheap imitation with no will of his own...like a living puppet. However, he isn't the character that I absolutely despise, because he at least somewhat overcomes his own foibles. I'm gonna just dive right in and say...Aerith. Worst character ever. There's nothing special about her whatsoever; even though, most of, if not all, of the story revolves around her. Throughout the story she is nothing but a hindrance, victim, and that one character that gets added last second to drive the player into a fury over how obnoxiously clingy and useless she is. Even after her death she still won't allow Cloud to get away from her emotionally, and because of her death, the "main character" Zach...er...Cloud goes into an emo like state, and through his own failings allows Sephiroth to twist his mind and assume control over him to relinquish the BLACK Materia. Shouldn't she have realized that since she's the last of her species and the final hope for the planet, that maybe she shouldn't be running off by herself to continents unexplored? She knew for damn sure that she was being hunted by Sephiroth, the S Class SOLDIER and hero of the Wu Tai war. Also, during the part where she dies take to heart Piccolo's dying words from DBZ Abridged, "Why......didn't you....DOOOOOODDDDGGEE!!!!" Could have also told Cloud that his memories weren't entirely his own, also could have mentioned something about the guy he resembles...say it with me, ZACH! That might have de-wussified him earlier and probably added some more depth to the story and probably stronger character development. So, Aerith, I hate you...from your Excel Saga/Harem Anime ways, to your uselessness in combat and story, to when you decide to leave after getting the BLACK Materia and take all the high level materia socketed into your armor and weapon and never giving any them back, to when you die and are too stupid to remain so. From the bottom of my heart, with love, I hate you.

Jhay-R foxyboy_chan Hm...
I've never really HATED any FF7 character but I really dislike Shelke and Lucrecia.
Lucrecia because of her stupid choices. She caused great grief for Vincent, but I know she loved him anyhow, which is why I don't really HATE her, just dislike her. Because of her he's still alive, y'know?
I don't like Shelke because... She's emo... Er... I just don't really like her. She's just... weird. I dunno. She was in the Tsveits. Er... I just don't really like her, but I still kinda do. Um...
I don't think I've ever really hated any guy character.
I even like Hojo. He's cool. I liked him before he went insane (before he shot Vincent).
Thing about Shelke. Just gotta realize 1 thing, 1 simple thing.... She was raised to be a weapon for 10 years, being denied a childhood and grew up as a tool rather than a human. I mean, with that mentality, it'll take a while before she can become a true human. Because, as Rosso put it, even when they were released, all they had learned since birth was to kill, and that's the only thing they could do.
Sorta like how the slaves of America, even when they were not slaves anymore, they still worked for their past "owners" because that's all they knew how to do.
Just takes a while before she can be normal... And by the end of the game, she became, somewhat normal.... I mean, she became the super sister, you know? The kind of perfect sister that you only see in old TV shows, or Love Hina....
Eh, I dunno....
Exactly haha, after all that I don't think i'd ever be normal again never mind the slight progress she had during the game.
The only characters I "hate" would be hojo simply because of what he did to Vincent, Red 13 and Aeirths family, plus everything he did with the jenova cells... if it wasn't for hojo FF7 wouldn't have even happened so I "love" him for that. I would never want any character out of the game, every one holds a special place in my heart but I hate him for what he does to the characters, the other character I "hate" is Lucrecia simply because she is also responsible for the way the world ended up. If she had walked away, if she had left with Vincent then Sephiroth would never have been born and he would have never went mad. But I love her because of how much she cared for other people, including Vincent and his father, she loved Vincent so much she basically killed her self trying to save him. |
