The Sea and Beach

R'lan smiled softly. His heart overfilled with happiness. She stated it so simply but it eased his mind and heart. "I think you said all I needed to hear with that last sentence."

"So...now what?" Verenna asked cautiously, daring to smile back.  

[Thilwen Nimlondiel]

R'lan contemplated this for a moment. "I'm not entirely sure. You're the first I've liked so much."

Ellorth dipped his nose in the water and sprayed the two of them with water droplets. Now you play!

Verenna dropped below the surface of the water to avoid most of Ellorth's splash. When she can up, she laughed at the bronze. "All right, all right." Mentally 'encouraging' her FL friends to help her, she swiftly lunged toward R'lan, gently splashing water at him.

Good idea! Baneth agreed.

R'lan dove underwater and surfaced behind Verenna, making sure to splash her liberally.

Ellorth continued dipping his nose into the water and splashing playfully, if rather harmlessly.

"Ah!" Verenna spluttered, dropping beneath the water to escape the waves R'lan was making. He'll pay for that, you know, she thought to Baneth, who looked smug.

Oh I know, Mine. It's just fun to watch.

R'lan followed Verenna underwater and grinned playfully at her.

Verenna made the mistake of sticking her tongue out at R'lan while still under water. Closing her eyes and mouth comically, she swam for the surface and made a small show of cleaning off her tongue. "I wouldn't want to drink that water. It's really salty," she said, trying to keep a serious face after her mishap.

R'lan surfaced next to her grinning. "Sorry about that."

"No, no. It's my fault. You were-" She stopped, then re-tried the sentence. "I mean, it was too tempting."

R'lan smiled. "Why don't we get some food. It'll help get rid of the salty taste in your mouth."  

[jc-jade]

"Sounds good to me. We've been swimming for awhile anyway, haven't we?" Verenna began to swim back to shore, Baneth's snout just inches from her hair that was flowing behind her, as the dragon followed closely.

You swim slow, Mine, Baneth teased.

Can it, Baneth, Verenna thought softly, I'm out of practise.

Then you should practise more, came the quick reply. Especially with R'lan.

Just be glad I haven't drowned yet.

R'lan swam over to Ellorth and climbed up onto the bronze dragon's back. Ellorth swam lazily towards the shore, snapping up fish that swam too slow and munching on them.

Follow R'lan's example, Baneth said. Climb on my back and I'll swim to shore for you.

Okay, that'll work, Verenna agreed, doing just that.

R'lan and Ellorth reached the shore and R'lan dismounted. Ellorth shook himself off while R'lan slipped on his shirt and pulled his boots on.
