"Good question," Orrin grinned softly, walking downstairs. "It's always a delight to see you so cheerful."
Marilyn slid another piece forward, blocking off a potential jump. "You're not bad, for a beginner."
Sosol hummed in thought, looking over the intel file that Azana had read through. It looked like a right mess...
Tyler heard a wheeze, glancing to Kiran. He had almost forgotten...but even a small trick like that causing a reaction? He really needed to have a chat with the author. "Sorry," he apologized quickly, removing the materia and pocketing it once mroe. "I might be able to help with that..."
"...not all of it is worth showing," Violet frowned, looking down at her portrait of Honey. "It may be skilled...but it's ugly."

"And I thought I was old-fashioned," she chuckled, jumping the piece he just moved. "Sounds like an interesting job, though...thankfully, I will not meet you at work."
"A bit of that, and a bit of rest. It has been some time since I let the other loose like that. People are a little better about following the Order these days...history makes an excellent teacher." Orrin pecked her head. "Wait...pickles? Should I ask?"
Violet came back down after a few minutes, an armful of four sketchbooks. Two of the covers had identical symbols, while the other two shared another one. "I label them...to remind myself what's inside. Here."
"That would defeat the point, wouldn't it?" Tyler smirked, a familiar glint in his eye. "It emits something known as catapsi...it disrupts magic and psychic wavelengths, effectively giving you a bubble of strict non-metaphysical space. Unfortunately, its bi-directional, so you would be unable to do any sort of magical or psychic work."

Marilyn glanced at him before turning her attention back down to the board. "We call it Grace," she answered, moving a piece.
"A bit of both...they were pleased to see me enforce the Order, but annoyed that I was as lenient as I was. Their scope is too narrow, in my opinion; things turned out exactly as they needed to. Speaking of which..." He dug into his pocket, pulling out an ash-dusted rosary. "Would you like to do the honors of returning this? It looks nice with the hat, but it does not belong among the Lost."
Violet, notably, did not look over Honey's shoulder. The book she held contained images of a demonic nature...glimpses of the horrors that could be found in Kasdeya's cult at its peak. Every scene spoke of pain, despair, and madness, overlayed with the occasional smug satisfaction of the dominatrix demoness herself.
The other ones, she had to design the symbol herself, since she wasn't exactly sure what she had drawn. Those were more meant for Remy's eyes, if there truly was similarities between the works.
"It's alright," Tyler shrugged. "My genius does that sometimes. Let me tell you what...I'll order a spare copy in to try out. If it works, great. If it doesn't, what have we lost?" Honestly, he was eager to see how it would work with Kiran. It didn't run on magic, so the experiment would be relatively harmless, except for the potential allergic reaction to a magical stimulus. That was what the inhaler was for, as a backup plan.
"If you feel the desperate need to pay me for it, you can name the price. It just seems like a good idea for everyone involved."
Azana chuckled. "Is this a research proposal or a sales pitch?" She joked, looking at Tyler. She'd have to have a talk with him at some point...perhaps when they weren't so incredibly busy.
