Aonagi watched as Mina would quickly take her seat beside him. They had been fairly close for a while now, having met during the early days of his time there and latched onto one another fairly quickly. Besides help with his ninjutsu and other things, Mina had always had experience with allowing Nagi to use her to help test his iyrojutsu. His tutors had commended his high marks depsite the boy's lack of control of his chakra for the moment. "Thank you, Nagi. I owe you one. : p " Her answer was written on his paper, the young boy's eyes reading and looking pleased as punch to have company for today. For a moment, Aonagi was worried he would have been left alone.
"We're going over the Maruton jutsu for the test. It's pretty easy, but I can help you if you want!" He wrote in response, opening his scroll to the basic 5 techniques every academy student worth their weight would know. "We can go through them when you're ready."

โHmmm. Oh yeah, these shouldnโt be too hard.โ Mina said casually, as the definition of each technique came to mind. The young girl looked over the notes real quick. Mina wasnโt what she would consider a genius. She missed a lot of lessons cause if her inability to keep track of time, and by doing so she missed out in valuable learning experience from the Senseis. But that didnโt mean she gave up on the lesson; frequently she had stayed behind to study the techniques and concepts on her own. Minas expression shifted to slight nervousness. โIn theory, anyway.โ A large sweat drop formed as she blushed, rubbing the back of her head with her hand. Truth be told, sheโd never actually tried them. Nagi would know this, as he usually scolded her for missing class more than the teachers did. โHeheheโฆBut yeah, those are all just basic Jutsus. Like the Escape Jutsus a wonderful tool in a ninas arsenal, but really helpful to help learn Chakra control.โ Mina paused and grinned at Nagi. โBut you know what would be even cooler to impress the teachers with?โ She asked with excitement dripping from her voice. Without even waiting for a response she upended her bag, dumping out various scrolls of different colors. โLearning THESE jutsus!โ She beamed, holding a light blue scroll that read Raiton.

Ichika looked at the dust rag thoughtfully. Instead of substituting with it, she decided to transform into it. However, her first set of hand seals failed to turn her into it. She frowned, then remembered the brief lesson where transformation was easier if it was closer to your own size. She chose the sensei's chair by the desk instead, transforming into it with relative ease before releasing the jutsu. [ Transformation technique ]
Scrounging through the sensei's desk, Ichika quickly discovered a cloth that he had used to cloak himself in front of the class during a demonstration. She took it into her hands and examined it to determine it was a regular cloth, but big enough to cover a grown man. She held it in front of herself and ran her chakra through the material until it turned invisible in her hands. [ Magic Cloak of Invisibility Technique [ Kakuremino no Jutsu ] | Rank E ]
There was a key to the weapons room on the sensei's desk, something he liked to talk about frequently to excite the students into working hard so they could learn weapons play. It was covered in a omnipresent chakra barrier, onset by a seal. She put her hands around it, covering her hands in chakra as evenly as she could before making contact with the barrier, exuding enough chakra to disperse the barrier around the keys. [ Barrier Shatter Technique [ Kekkai Massatsu no Jutsu ] | Rank X ]
Ichika left the keys on the desk for the time being, preferring to work on her ninjutsu work first. She instead applied chakra to her hands again, placing them over her eyes as she sat down criss-cross, letting the chakra lull her to sleep. She leaned backwards against the wall as sleep overtook her for a few minutes. [ Feigning Sleep Technique [ Tanukineiri no Jutsu ] | Rank E ]
Feeling refreshed and giving in to her desires, she grabbed the sensei's weapon keys and left the room. The room between the door to the weapon's closet and the hall was an entire pool of water to deter academy students. However, she took a deep breath, focused on her feet's placement, and walked at a snail's pace across the pool to get to the closet; while she may have dipped a bit into the water here or there, she managed not to fall in. [ Water walking technique ] [ Mission: Apprentice Thief ]
She claimed a kunai and tucked it into her skirt waist, then grabbed two katana that grabbed her eye. She was going to return to the classroom to practice, but staying in the weapons room closet would be easier than having to make a return trip on the water. She decided to practice with the two swords, holding one horizontally and the other vertically. It was a defensive stance that allowed her to react quickly with ease. [ Primary Stance | Rank E | Stance ]
She then released the stance and crouched slightly. She held each sword at her side, one to the left and one to the right. The swords were diagonal to the ground, ready to defend low or high. This stance made future attacks a simple matter to handle. [ Secondary Stance| Rank E | Stance ]
She found sheaths for them and attached them to her sides. She sheathed each katana. She practiced drawing them and making x-shaped strikes until she could do it somewhat fast for her level of expertise. [ Two Swords Drawing Art: First Blood | Rank X | Simple ] (Stage One Kazekiri - E)

Well, she was certainly raring to go. Mina not only jumped at the chance to get up to date with the class, but also managed to splash down a couple of other scrolls on top of the desk he was sitting at. Nagi looked through them with great interest, willing to teach her the basic Maruton jutsu and help her way through the rest. It seemed like pretty simple stuff anyway. "Great! Let's get to work." He wrote down and would soon lead Mina away from the class while they worked on things to practice jutsu.
"Let's start simple. We'll do the easiest ones first. Just follow me." Aonagi said, stepping forward towards Mina while slowly going over the hand signs that were need for each technique. Since these were E-Rank, they'd be fairly quick and only require one or two, max. He started with the Kai technique, an inner burst of chakra purging his system of any genjutsu effects...which there weren't. The next was Henge, the transformation technique. Nagi formed a single hand seal and would shift into a perfect copy of Mina briefly before recalling the technique. Lastly, Bunshin, every ninja's favorite. With another hand seal and some chakra, Aonagi would create a clone of himself beside him, indistinguishable from the real one. "Now you try!" [ Learned Kai | Rank X :: Henge no Jutsu | Rank E :: Bunshin no Jutsu | Rank E ]
After Mina had gotten all of those down, Aonagi looked pleasantly proud of his classmate. Even if she had a tendency to be tardy to class, she more than made up for it with her spirit. "Now we'll get to the harder stuff." First up, Substitution Technique! For this one, Nagi would make his clone swing at him, to which he reacted in time by focusing on a training dummy nearby and trading places with it before it struck. He came back afterwards and showed Mina the next 2 basic jutsu, which were focusing chakra near the heels of your feet to attack to surfaces normally out of reach. Both techniques had the same effect, just different applications. [ Learned Substitution Technique | Rank E :: Art of Walking on Water | D Rank :: Art of Walking on Walls | D Rank ]

Mina followed her friends outside to practice. Today seemed like a review day anyway, since the sense I didnโt seem to be around for long. Once outside, he started reviewing what all of the basic Jutsus sheโd need to know were. Mina liked when Nagi explained things to her, because she was reading what he had to say. Whenever someone tried to talk to her about this stuff, like in class, things usually went in one ear and out of the other. But she was much mite able to understand things by reading, it helped her focus. โOh yeah! I know those!โ The red head grinned and made a simple seal. With an effort of will, a perfect replica of herself appeared next to her in a cloud of smoke. At almost the exact same time, the same smoke enveloped Mina and, once it expired, revealed that Nagi stood right in her spot! โPretty good right?โ Mina-Nagi and Clone-Mina asked before a puff of smoke reverted the situation to normal.

Mina followed Aonagis footsteps in practicing the Substitution technique, recreating her own clone. The moment that her own clone would swing at her and connect, the girl was replaced by another training dummy! The blow hit the dummy and the clone clutched itโs hand and whimpered before disappearing. โTa-Da!โ Minas voice came from above. There, stood on a tree branch with a beaming grin in her face and holding the sign for victory to Nagi. The only weird thing was she was hanging upside down from the branch, her feet glued to the wood! โI know the basic practice of this and the water walk is to come from Chakra outputs. Like this is a steady output, and water is a constant varying output. Itโs more difficult but easy once you get the hang of it.โ

While Aonagi watched Mina hurry around and go about her business with training, he took the time to practice a few jutsu of his very own. It was some more of the Maruton techniques, which made this entire thing a bit easier in some cases. His fingers practiced expelling a small amount of chakra at the bases, enough so that if bound, they could nudge his body a little more to help free himself. He also would practice throwing a peace of cloth over himself to shield himself from view, expelling chakra to cloak himself in the terrain around him. Aonagi smiled at her progress, giving her a thumbs up while she was hanging in front of the tree. He moved his hands in front of him, practicing to disrupt a barrier or pass through it. The flicker of chakra was faint but still enough to get by some weak barriers that weren't academy level. He practiced a few more times before a horrible thud caught his attention. Nagi swung his head around to see Mina's crumbled mass on the floor. Freaking out, Nagi scrambled over towards the red head and would shake her frantically, a worried look on the boy's face. They appeared few yards in front of the academy on the grassy green front yard. Komoriuta let's go of Mariko's hand and if she was still clinging on, Komo would simply shake it to let her know that she does not want her hand to be held. At all. The massive guardian let out a soft sigh of relief before laying on the sun-soaked grass, he was tired. And he needed a bath. Heck, they all do. After all the mucky yucky stuff and dried blood on them, they all needed baths. Still wearing the black robe, she figured she would wear it longer until she finds her family and change into her normal clothes. A smile was hidden underneath the mask as she was so excited to tell her family what had happened! They would be so proud of her! "Where is the lady? I need to find her now so I can find my family." Then she glanced at the golden guardian, "Nooo, wake up!" She pushed up against his back. She turned and had her back against Tenshi as her foot dug into the ground, but the creature did not budge. Minas limp body rolled lazily as Nagi shook her around. It only happened for a few seconds, however, before a small smile crept on her face. Then what started as a small smile grew and grew into a wide grin. Mina turned to full blown laughter as she sat up. โMan, you should see the look on your face!โ She laughed and wiped a tear from her eye. โI was just pretending, dude. Just another skill the seaweed taught us. And you fell for it; hook, line, and sinker!โ Mina winked and wagged her finger. โYa gotta be careful with that stuff, Aonagi! Aonagi was freaking out right about now. How on earth was he going to explain to the teacher that Mina had knocked herself out on the tree while practicing the wall walking technique?! He floundered around before trying to compose himself in the midst of his fit. The boy's sleeved hands would gently push Mina onto her back while inspecting her unconscious body...before she smiled. She began laughing at his worry, Nagi's heart almost drying up of relief to see that his friend was in good health. The concern was then replaced by anger, as he would take the soft and floompy sleeves of his father's jacket and whap Mina on the head with him. A scowl was painted on his face, pouting while collecting his sketchpad nearby and scribbling out, "Don't scare me like that! >: ( " Their little playtime aside, Nagi would return to his happy self and flip the page, writing down his thoughts on their training so far.
"I think we have everything we need to pass. We can try and see about taking the test now. Or we can train more stuff!~"

Nagiโs sleeves slapped against Mina while she continued to laugh. The slaps tickled as the cloth hit against her. โSorry, sorry!โ She leaned back and playfully swatted at the sleeves in return. The red head, once her friends onslaught stopped, leaned forward and stopped laughing but retained her grin. โI couldnโt help it, it just seemed too easy to pass up!โ Mina examined the concern on her friends face she relaxed a little after a moment of silence. โWelp, thatโs all of them. Now-โ she held up the scroll that said RAITON on it. โWe should learn some of these babies! We can pass, or we can pass with STYLE.โ Mina whipped open the scroll, her tongue sticking out a little as she scrolled down the list with her finger. โLightning Styleโฆ Lightning Clone.โ She peered up at Nagi for a second. โThat one cant be too hard. Right?โ She sounded a little unsure. โIt canโt be to different from what we just didโฆ?โ โAlright!โ Mina hopped to her feet, reading the scroll. โWatch and learn Nagi! This how you impress! The girl put the scroll on the ground and formed the seals, slowly going through each one. As she did and gathered her Chakra, she tried to imagine her energy forming into sparks of electricity. โLightning Style! Lightning Clone Jutsu!โ She yelled. Walking into the academy, it was busier than he expected it to be. He hadn't been there much. In fact, when he joined the village his skills allowed him to pass the Academy level and become a Genin. Not really an accomplishment considering his age. He didn't even know what to do or where to begin. In fact, he has been in this village not for no longer than maybe a month if even that.
Time was weird for him but he considered it wasn't a bad thing at all to be aligned to someplace that actually had non-destructive goals. In fact, the past couple of years really made him self reflect on who he was and who he wanted to be. In the beginning, he felt that he was just someone that needed to fit into a mold. Fit into a cause in which didn't matter what the main outcome would be. Who the main manipulators were and what could happen to him in the end. He wasn't the one driving his own decisions.
First thing that made him think over everything was the discovery of what happened with Kogarashi. What was the end goal of the group he almost joined? The group he was committed to being in but luckily circumstances caused him not be a part of. They committed violence. They caused destruction. Lives were lost due to direct causes of them. He was only young and impressionable then. Luckily he wasn't worth of value or strong enough to be fully indoctrinated. Maybe by the mind but he never did acts.
Who was Using? He was a former person of neutrality. A person who wasn't really a rogue but he didn't have a path. He didn't believe in being in conflicts but the past events made him realize that wasn't possible. The conflict was inevitable. So what was he going to do about it? Would it matter? It had nothing to do with him in the long run besides being a sympathizer. Could he really make people way stronger than him and could kill him to change their ways? He lacked experience and knowledge. He had no leg to stand on.
It could have been any village. He could of join anyone at all. Yet, for some reason, he joined the exact village that ended up having a direct history with the antagonistic people he was once around when he was younger. Age could be used as an excuse but now that he is 19 that excuse can't be something he can use anymore.
Going over everything in his head while searching for scrolls, he came to his conclusion. He came to his goal. He wasn't highly competitive even though he liked bukijutsu and that was something that was a strength. Maybe he could rely on that strength if need be but he could do something better. Once he finished training, he figured he may need to go to the hospital and see what he can do.

After entering the village and being briefly shown around, he had made small mention of wanting to do some research, and to do that he needed scrolls of all kinds, advanced ones and amateur ones and instructional ones, and that was what had led them to the academy. Knowing full well that he was an unusual, not-quite-trusted visitor, he turned toward the woman and asked, "Would you mind showing me the way to what I need?" He knew better than to go off on his own, it was such a haunting mistake that he wouldn't dare tempt again.
Getting to work, he would stay discreet as he had the scrolls he needed to learn what he wanted. He was going to go the research route. Looking at the first scroll, he analyzed the Fox Fire technique and took note of how to release the golf ball-sized flames.

It basically allowed him to throw a rock. Well, more destructively than if he just threw it with his hand. It sounds lame but could be useful. This story takes place before the current events of the story; before Mina was late to class and started to train with Aonagi. Meanwhile, the night before, the young shinobi was also hard at work at the training yard. Mina was panting as sweat dripped from her brow but, as tired as she was, the look of focus in her eyes was unwavering. โThe examโs tomorrowโฆโ she thought, as she slammed her fist against the wooden dummy, one of the ones with the poles sticking from it. โAnd my Taijutsu is far from graduation level. The girl grunted in rhythm of her body parts clacking against the wood. Fist, kick, elbow, palm strike. Each blow sent a painful throb up her limb

Mina finished up her combo with a swift back handed strike against the dummy before crouching down. The girl closed her eyes and focused, trying to put chakra into her feet without wasting it. โTime to kick it up a notch!โ She thought to herself. With only a blur of motion, a cloud of dirt, and a rush of wind the young girl disappeared! With the same blur and rush, Mina reappeared above the dummy!

Minaโs eyes widened as she seemed to hover over the dummy for an instant. โHere it is!โ She yelled out, the act of exclaiming reinvigorating her. The red head sent chakra coursing through her fist, her very will collecting around her limb! She brought her arm back as gravity took hold of her and she came crashing down, slamming her chakra imbued fist right into the wood!โ

Mina crouched down as she landed next to the dummy, her fist all the way up through her shoulder throbbed with intense pain from striking something so hard. But she did her best to fight through it! Her routine was almost done, and THIS time she was gonna nail it! Mina kept her momentum going and jumped forward, only spinning around a short distance away. The girl, with practiced movements, whipped two kunai knives from her holster. While they started on the same trajectory, soon they curved away from each other, coming at the dummy from both sides!

With her other hand, Mina reached into a bag on her hip, two shuriken clinking metallically against each other. By the time her kunai knives hit the dummy with a dull thunk, she had already held the shuriken up and, with a quick flick of her wrist, tossed them straight at the wooden practice partner. The two stars spun through the air, eventually landing near the center of the dummy with two more consecutive dull thunks. Mina grinned: she wasnโt done yet.
Straight Shot-Rank E
Mina finally came to a skidding stop from her jump, her heels digging into the ground. Her knees bent as she mustered up all her strength in her legs to go against the falling momentum. She kicked off, launching herself back at the dummy! It was time for the final blow! As Mina rushed in, she rummaged around another pocket and pulled out another tool; a paper bomb!.. Or at least a piece of paper with figures written on it. Mina was careful to hold the paper the right way, before giving it a good flick. Making the paper fly against the wind with a toss was something Mina had spent weeks practicing, but this time it seemed like she got it. The paper cut through the air before sticking against one of the wooden poles! Mina stopped, her breathing heavy after her last combo. She grinned a big grin as it finally occurred to her that she finished her routine, this time without messing up!

Mina couldnโt help but let out laughter into the silence of the night, jumping around with joy! โI did it, I did it, Iโm gonna pass!โ She cheered as she held up the sign for victory with her fingers. However, a sound caught her attention and she stopped celebrating. Turning around, the hissing sound of burning paper filled her ears as Mina saw that the tag she used wasnโt practice; it was a real bomb! Before she could react, it exploded with enough force to damage the dummy and knock Mina flat on her butt. โIโm going to get it so much trouble for thatโฆโ she groaned, covered in soot, before passing out. By the time she woke up, she would already be running late to class where she would met up with Aonagi to practice their Ninjutsu.

She first practiced her Suiton techniques. These were used by the small pool of water nearby; a koi fish pond simply sitting in the winds. Careful not to disrupt the fish within, Yui would practice manipulating the water into different shapes. Her control thus far wasn't anything beyond impressive.
