She had been calm, collected. For the better part of the new Turn, A'ye would dare say that Oyath had been...good. His illness had certainly mellowed the usually vibrant green in both temper and actions, and while it had taken longer than the pair would like for him to recover, he was certainly on the mend. Their shared days of work and fighting Thread were back how they'd been before, and the Greenrider couldn't help but think everything was...peaceful.

It was around noon, with the sun high in the clear sky, that he felt the beginnings of something in the back of his mind. A faint rumble from his unusually quiet Green, who usually spent her mornings complaining about something or someone, or both at the same time. Her silence had been different, though not unwelcome, but as the sensation slowly started to leak through his mind the reason became more clear. "You can't be serious." His words were half-statement, half-question, but all begging in tone. The Greenrider was far from his weyr (or anywhere he could duck in), and with the thudding urgency that begin to quicken his blood he knew he was unlikely to make it back before it happened. Before Oyath rose to the sky, and called all challengers to her side.

I have been waiting! I will wait no longer! The silent green was silent no more as she spread her wings from her perch, allowing the sun to warm her as she glanced at the skies. Her eyes, normally red as precious gemstones, whirled with an unfamiliar purple as she studied the clouds, studied the space about her. It would happen now, even if she could feel the uncertainty in her bond with A'ye. I will fly!

There was a triumphant bugle as the Green raised herself into the skies, her wing beating powerfully as she launched into the clear blue. Turning back to look down at the Weyr below, tiny dots against a landscape of grey, Oyath let out a message to all who might be listening. Come! The winds are calling, and you will chase!

- ----- the winds are calling ----- -

About Oyath: Aggressive and judgemental, Oyath is not exactly a nice green - though she is hardly cruel or rude. She is just not particular about mincing her words and has more than enough gumption to back up phrases with actions. This, of course, despite being ridiculously tiny. Oyath is built for speed and dexterity, not stamina.

About A'ye: Oyath's rider, a 28-Turn old who was born and raised in High Reaches. Friendly and patient, but sadly browbeaten by the unspoken "color rules" that seem to occasionally float through the Weyr. A'ye is slightly on the shorter side of average, and is incredibly handsome. No really, he is.

....?!

!!!

Bayeth had been very happily snoring away on his weyrledge, soaking up the midday sun, when Oyath's call went out, and he startled awake with a honk. The yellow in his eyes soon gave way to purple, however, and he threw his head back to bay his enthusiasm before throwing himself off his ledge to follow, broad wings catching the air and sweeping him up after the beautiful green. He'd never been any good at poetry or charm, and knew better than to try - not that he could have even if he'd intended to, as he was only half-awake as yet. For now, he only trumpeted her name, though with it he sent waves of adoration. Oyath!

Lilah's only impression of Bayeth's response to a Rising green was wordless, but she immediately knew it for what it was and groaned, dropping her head into the crook of the arm she had propped on the dining table. Was this- Seriously? At lunchtime? She groaned again and shoved away the plate of food she'd barely had a chance to touch and definitely didn't want anymore. Great. Just. Great. Sharding greens and their sharding Flights, and her sharding blue who nine times out of ten couldn't be bothered but of course chose this as the one time out of ten. Whatever happened, her lunch was ruined for sure, and she was faced with the long trek up to her weyr.

...which she would probably not make, since she was not one to make a run for it (maybe a jog for maybe part of the way). Well, joy. Whatever. That was fine. Really too bad about lunch, though.

Spinning quickly above the water, wingtips tracing patterns with each spin before the ropy blue arched his back and took a deep beat of his wings, Itharath could hear Moak's laughter in peals as her stomach dropped and her spirit soared with him. The pair were fast, it came to them naturally but they didn't have to wonder from exactly where. Even inside the egg the world had moved far too slow for him and her burning urge to follow each tide, learn each current across the coast and through strings of islands that lead them on adventures.

With a jubilant shout Moak sent him an image of a mountain peak, one she had fortunately seen over the turns and turns rather than sketched and with a pop and a brief span of cold they exploded above the mountain peak and were smacked in the faces with a loud trumpet. Pulling up from his attempt to shoot out over the peak towards the river that he could see so far below, Itharath tilted his head and gave a bellow towards the green he saw rising through the sky like an arrow. Laughter filled him just as it had his rider only moments before and he folded his wings to dive down, barreling towards the ground like a dragon that appeared cracked out of it's mind. Trust came off of his rider in waves, her eyes narrowed to see their path as the blue pulled up and landed almost daintily on the ground not far from where the dragon had taken off, grass rippling below his feet from the impact of the wind.

Stay here for a moment, I'd like to see what this green has to offer by way of a chase. Itharath looked back at his rider with bright green eyes as she dismounted and was rewarded with a hand that ran from his nose to his headknobs.

"Go see if you're fast enough." Moak challenged him, her raspy voice holding mirth for his reaction and she stepped back a pace or so as he bunched up and shot from the ground once more, tearing through the sky like the speed addicted creature that he was. He'd meet her challenge, both his rider and the green's.

It had been quite some time since he'd chased after all!

Well now... Wasn't this interesting. The large bronze dragon craned his neck from where he had been happily sunning himself upon the heights, to see what Oyath might do. The lovely green was a beauty to behold -- fierce, strong, and wild. He stared at her, considering what he might, or might not do. On the one hand, Kindeth did rather enjoy a good flight...On the other hand, he had never actually successfully caught one of the ladies of the Weyr.
Either he was too slow, too dumb, or too innocent. While Kindeth didn't really believe any of that, he had picked up thoughts from others, or at least heard insecurities as he watched the world. He knew he wasn't the most clever of bronzes, but his rider always told him he had a good heart, and was nothing but a sweetheart. Surely, that was worth something, wasn't it? And didn't his rider always say to never give up? That practice made perfect? Though he had not yet perfected his form of charm, Kindeth knew that he wanted someone to love....

But who?

Would it be Oyath? The green was more fierce than any dragon he'd ever chased before, but maybe she was squishy underneath all that fierceness. And besides, if he did catch her, would not that make his rider happy? Whether his rider wanted to admit to it or not, Kindeth knew a thing or two.

So it was, his red eyes turned a deep purple, and with a roar of challenge. He did not let himself fall though; instead, he stood on the ledge, wings spread, waiting for the moment. He was big, very big, and heavy for a bronze. He would not fare well hovering -- no, instead, he needed as much speed and power as he could get. A leap from the heights would let him push off, and get a faster start...

At least, he hoped.

I WILL chase! He confirmed, both to himself, his rider, and Oyath.

- - - -

S'del, for his part, dropped his spoon as soon as he felt the change in Kindeth. Was this really happening? Who was--- wait a minute. Though it was unspoken, through the powerful link of his dragon, he quickly came to understand which green was rising, and who exactly Kindeth had decided to chase.

He couldn't... He wouldn't! On the one hand, the bronze rider suddenly felt an eager thrill course through him. Of all the riders in the Weyr to have his bronze chasing, this one was one of the most important flights he could think of! On the other hand, if he lost, if A'ye went with another....

It wouldn't matter. They were just friends... weren't they? Yes! And that was okay! That was absolutely fine. There was nothing wrong with just being friends, nothing wrong with any of that. And yet, another part of S'del knew the truth. An unspoken interest, shoved to the wayside.

"Kindeth...." He groaned, pushing aside his plate to try to focus. Did he find A'ye? Did he leave the man alone? No. No, no matter what happened, he at least wanted to try to find him, to at least be there. Yes. He would chase.... like rider, like dragon, come what may.

The words thrummed through as the large bronze shook his body free from the cliff, the call had gone out and for once he had moved instead of keeping his statue like perch. For three turns he had ignored most of the other flights keeping to himself on the ledges either too lazy to bother or just respecting his rider’s wishes on the whole “lets just avoid it all together”. HIs eyes shifting to purple as he heard another nearby bronze give a challenging roar, Rynsaith knew he didn’t stand a chance considering his own motivations was more to threaten his own rider into action then catch a green.

”No you are not, you are not going to join any flights.” The rider gave a refusing growl as he dropped the crate short of where it was supposed to be. The healer gave a rather disapproving look as Sa’do turned on his heel abruptly and left without saying another word to them. It didn’t matter what he said though, he could feel it, the bronze had been relestless the last few days, more so than usual and this was the escape he had been waiting for. Oyath… he felt like it was a name he should know or at least had heard from somewhere.

It was obvious the bronze was amused before reaffirming his plan earning another groan from his rider.

I am joining this chase, either way!

The green was...pleased, to say the least, at the group that had gathered to chase the wind. It wasn't entirely unlike her to relish the company, as there were moments where the Green valued being, well, appreciated, and so her eyes rolled a deeper purple as she called back to those who'd join. If you think you must have me, you can try! I will not hold back! There was no malice in her tone, no warning or arrogance.

The blues and bronzes were welcome to face her, to chase her and claim her as their own. It had been far too long, she'd denied this want with A'ye's general wishes and the more giving aspects of her personality. But enough was too much. She would no longer be denied, not now. Not again.

The feelings of lust that radiated from her only grew strong as she launched herself high into the sky, her body a small green dot against the blue and blinding light of the sun. She was smart to fly into it, or at least let it cover her and cast her shadow down on the Weyr and down on her potential mates. Let them see her, let them chase her!

+ +

A'ye, for his part, was not doing as well as his dragon. The feelings she held were just as strong in the Greenrider, though it was unlikely he'd get the same relief by running or flying. He just needed to get away and back to his weyr before he caused problems. Part of him regretted not grabbing a sandwich before he went on the move, but he knew he had food back at home. Would he even make it there? The people around him either drew closer as his dragon bugled overhead in her joy, or they scattered and gave him a kindness to allow his own personal flight away from the crowds.

He didn't know all the dragons that had followed, just perhaps the two bronzes. Or at least he hoped he knew the bronzes and therefore their riders. The blues remained somewhat of a mystery, though there were far more welcome in a corner of his mind.

Please, Oyath. He whispered as he rounded another corner. Please, pick blue.

A trumpet of joy and elation escaped from Itharath as he shot into the air, his wings pumping against the wind to gain speed and gain height. It was fun, it was so much fun, fly little green so that he could chase her higher and higher. But not that high! Nearly blowing past her in his excitement as his eyes swirled slowly from the shining blue of happiness to purple, the blue dragon twisted his body into a spiral and ducked to fly under her, his wings tucked close to his body so that they wouldn't foul her movements. Instead of slowing himself down he sped up even a bit more and became a sort of satelite for her flight, dancing around her in a dizzying spiral of acrobatics and laughing joy.

You chose quite the day to fly up here, great thermals and amazingly clear skies, Itharath offered her, It's an honor to chase after a green with such taste.

He pulled up a bit for her and cast one shining and fully purple eye upon her, quite pleased that she was so fast herself, it would have been so boring if she was as slow as some of the males that were coming up behind him. While he wanted to catch her and there was certainly enough lust threading it's way into him that he had every desire to, the ropy blue so wanted to have fun with her, a fun flight that involved joy and a kind of swift dancing and speed. He had been a part of some very dark ones before, where males had lashed out at one another and females had scarred their pursuers, but Itharath did not want that at all. His entire life was built around fun and going past what his limits were.

~~~~
Far on the ground below his rider was watching a short man make his way through all the people that were looking skyward at the dragons and though her heart was up there with her wonderful blue, she couldn't help but tilt her head. So that had to be the rider for the green, maybe he was making his way towards his own weyr or looking for a partner? Moak couldn't blame him if he had a lover, she'd want to find her lover if she was in a similar situation. But she wasn't, the dark woman had never known a real lover, though she'd been used as one in the past, and she could only just understand the desire thanks to common sense.
Flight lust being what it was she needed a cold drink to fight this off but she followed after the shorter man for a few paces to make certain that he got wherever it was that he was going and no one took advantage of his situation. She'd punch the lights out of any that tried, for there had been some she'd witnessed in the past who thought that green riders with rising greens belonged to whomever grabbed them first. Moak's fists would prove them wrong, especially around this stifling Weyr of all Weyrs to be at. The woman didn't want to frighten him though, so she didn't follow far enough to be perceived as a threat and pulled up after a bit, hoping he was headed somewhere fun.
"I need some fun! And a drink!" Moak decided, fists on her hips and a laugh coming from her as the lust her dragon felt twisted through her.
Well, that . . .hadn't gone to plan.
The dragon had decided a flying leap would help him out, but instead of leaping, he kind of tumbled off the ledge. He fell down more than he did out, which meant he didn't get as much lift or speed as he liked. Flapping his wings, the large bronze dragon gave another challenging bugle, but he was rather... far. Hmm. Well. Slow and steady won the race, didn't it? Or at least, he was pretty sure someone, somewhere, said such a thing. Just because Oyath was far ahead now didn't mean he couldn't catch up.
S'del, for his part, finally caught sight of the dark-haired rider. Though Kindeth's flight lust was clawing at the edge of his mind, he was trying hard to keep his feelings under control. He could just take a headache. He could fight Kindeth's desire, turn around, and stomp back to his weyr. He could close himself away, and pretend not to think about where A'ye wound up, or who he might take a tumble with....
"A'ye!" he called out, likely in response to Kindeth's roar. Part of him wanted to reach out for Oyath...but it wasn't Oyath. It was A'ye. And though his feet were well on the ground, another part of him was already high above the Weyr with Kindeth.... in some of his finest, slowest flying, ever seen.
Speed and Dexterity = 9
There was no doubt in Rynsaith’s mind that he wouldn’t be able to keep up with the two blues who darted into the sky, the only real advantage he had was that he was a little quicker than the other bronze who had joined. It didn’t matter though the only reason the bronze had joined in was to enjoy himself and to finally give into some desire of lusting after another dragon instead of just remaining a bystander. Besides if he was patient enough they would move closer, there was no reason burning all of his energy at the get go, sometimes lasting longer was paid out in the end.
Sa’do moved through the throng of people, half his focus was on the lust Rynsaith poured out the higher he grew towards the sky while the other half did everything it could to keep it self grounded to getting back to his room. It was agony, he had spent a good deal of time at the weyr ignoring it and now it was dragging him under suffocating him. As long as he didn’t run into a particular candidate he would be ok, he could make it back to his room, maybe grab a drink or two to suppress it enough to pass out and just deal with the dreams.
I will not hold back, I promise! You deserve everything that I have! he pledged, meaning the oath from the bottom of his hearts and baying his excitement as he strove after her. He was not so nimble as Itharath, and he doubted that in the end such a lowly specimen as himself would be her choice, but she would have his full attention and devotion in the meantime.
Lilah felt her dragon's emotions surge through her as he flew and she...moved along at a fairly good pace, for her. She needed to find Oyath's- There! Maybe? It was a fuzzy sort of recognition, a maybe-probably, as they were not by any means well-acquainted and she was already well along to addled, but with or without familiarity, he had that look about him. That Flight look. There was also someone following behind him, so. Signs pointed to him being the one.
Ugh. Two of the dragons were chatterboxes, nasty little things that spouted off words Oyath wasn't caring to listen to. Flights were about lust not talking and if they'd really wanted to impress her they'd have let their flying do all the work. The blue who had zoomed around like it was nothing did hold some of her interests, and she could feel a bit of A'ye's prayers for blue among the pulses of desire she had, the green wasn't satisfied. They would need to be taught a lesson, all of them, if they thought words were enough and she'd choose based on a few flashy techniques. You're all fools.
A sudden shriek had the green stop her flight forward, only only to stop and let herself spin violently downward. She rolled herself as she went, creating a green spiral that seemed intent on drilling into the ground below. It was not a move she could handle very long or very well, but it would serve to unsettle some of those who felt they had a handle on what she was doing. No, Oyath would not be taken so easily!
Just before she looked as though she might hit she turned properly, her wings splaying and thrusting her back up.
+ +
One his end of things, A'ye was thankful to be gaining some distance from the crowds. The flightlust was starting to get stronger, and he could feel his mind slipping into being unable to differentiate between being himself and being Oyath. He could feel the sun on his flesh, taste the high winds in his mouth as he spread his wings and -
He needed to keep control, he needed to stay moving until he found a place that may or may not have a door he could hide behind. A'ye needed to remain himself until then, when he could handle these urges and what not, and he focused on just moving forward.
Then he heard his name, and the greenrider turned on his heels at the sound of that voice. Blue eyes quickly scanned the crowds to see where he was, to see where he was. Oyath may not have been picky, but if it was him, if he was calling - !
" - S'del!" The call from his mouth sounded so weird, as though the voice was no longer his own.
So she was fun but not the least bit nice it seemed, that didn't mean that he couldn't still enjoy himself. Itharath twisted his body and twirled a bit around her, floating under her as she was flying a bit slower than he was and he used his wings to give her a buffet at least a bit further upward. He hoped, he really wanted it to help her a bit to speed her up.
Her reaction was to turn and drop like a stone though and it took every ounce of sense in his delicate wedged head not to drop down after her. He knew that she would rise once more after all, it was far too soon for her to drop like that and not rise back up through the air. So rather than follow her down Itharath spun in looping circles and did actually lose a little bit of air in the process but managed to stay up remotely where he was until she rose through the sky again. Laughter pulled from him, joyful almost giggling laughter, and the ropy blue twisted back to dance around her once more in delight. She was a good flier to have risen back up so quickly after diving like that and he was excited to see what else she had in her.
~~~~

A warm smile spread over Moak's face as she watched the green rider find another, it had to be one of the other dragon's riders that were chasing the green so far above given both of their expressions. It made her happy, made her a little lonely too, but for the most part happy. Putting her hand over her eyes she looked up to the pinpoints of dragons and was able to at least locate where her goofball was dancing around like a ruddy fool. Not interested in telling him to calm down as it was nice to see him act so foolish every once in a while, especially near a Weyr. the woman scratched at her sides and groaned for the lust in her. It would be rude to just grab someone and plant a kiss on them but she was thinking about it and shard it all but she couldn't bring herself to in a place she didn't know.

A drink sounded a bit better at least. Had she said that before? Everything was getting glowy and fuzzy.

He...he was a fool? He doubted the others were, the other blue was very fast and handsome, and the bronzes were, well, bronzes, but he was nothing special. Just a pudgy, unremarkable little blue, and he was a fool for thinking for even a moment that such a beautiful green might choose him, that he would even be welcome amongst her suitors. He wasn't good enough to be here, his mere presence a blemish on an experience that should be perfect for her.

Bayeth creeled sadly, and without another word, peeled away from the chase to drift back to his ledge with heavy hearts.

Below, His turned away from the human equivalent of the chase, although the only heaviness in her own heart came straight from her dragon. She would have been glad enough for the reprieve, if it hadn't meant spending the rest of her afternoon consoling the devastated blue.

The bronze dragon continued to fly, trying to keep his eyes on Oyath. He still felt very far behind, but had his eye on the prize. He was big and slow and Oyath fierce and fast, but he knew not to give up. A chase was a chase....

Still, the blue did notice when Beyath left. Tired so soon? Part of Kindeth felt he might be better calling out after the blue. Beyath! Surely a blue as fast and quick and handsome as you has more to give. I think Oyath is flying the other way, though that is an awful unique path to take! He tried to encourage the other, but too soon, his gaze went back to the green.

Where would she go next?? Who else was after her? She was his real focus, anyway. And a small, competitive flame within the young bronze did flare . . . one less dragon was less competitor.

S'del, for his part, was actually glad to see those blue eyes turn on him. He could feel Kindeth's surprise, before the bronze turned back to the green. To A'ye. To Oyath. Part of his claws twitched, ready to catch the dragon....except that was no dragon, he was a man, and S'del was.... Well. "Hey...." His own voice sounded a bit rough with lust. "Maybe I... Shouldn't have stopped you?" He stated, fighting the dragonlust with common sense. No. He was still on the ground, in the Bowl, not in the air. Not fueled by his dragon's need. Maybe A'ye had wished to keep going, maybe A'ye had somewhere else to be.

Meepfur
I know he left but...Kindeth is encouraging him anyway.
