Between two of the continents of the world, a frigid and cold mass of land existed. Uninhabitable for humans in the depths of the land, it initially had been used as an island for outposts for ships to land temporarily during the early ages of the land. It wasn't until nearly fifty years prior that the island was given the title of a region and cities and towns began to develop in the harsh environments that existed on the land. Though the environment was initially too harsh for people to survive, Pokemon quickly found ways to populate and flourish. With the boom of leagues spreading across the world at an alarming rate, the island mass of "Citra" had developed its own league in the past ten years. With its eleventh league cup on its way, only the bravest of fools would dare travel across this land that has earned the title of a "Frozen death trap".

However, the regions’ natural dangers are not the only ones that exist. A dark wind blowing across the lands, a new threat has begun to rise from the shadows to unleash a new kind of terror across the region of Citra. Appearing only recently, the Gale Troupe's intentions are not currently known, but many of them appear to be skilled thieves under the guise of mere circus performers. However, the crimes that are being committed by them are starting to grow more and more frequent...

                                              Prof. Annabelle Maple
Head Prof. of the Citra Laboratory

In a dark and empty room, a light began to shine from above. Raining down upon a lone ginger woman, it was fairly obvious that she was somewhat sleep deprived from the bags under her eyes and the glazed look within them. Smiling at all that was before her, it was painfully obvious that she was a bit nervous. "G-Greetings everyone! It's a pleasure to have you here today! Welcome to the world of Pokemon!" She declared happily, fumbling over her words a bit as she stood there. Extending her hand forward, she awaited some kind of response, before continuing. "My name is Annabelle Maple, but many of people call me the Pokemon Professor...well, not that many. Professor Maple is more common, but I digress," She began to trail off, her eyes slowly looking towards her left as she tried to avoid whatever thought was racing through her mind.

Becoming alert rather quickly, she jumped up and remembered what she was doing. "This world of ours is inhabited by the most amazing of creatures called Pokemon," She said as she pulled a single sphere out from her lab coat. Divided horizontally by a black line, the upper half of the ball was red while the lower half was white. Her finger tapping the button that was in the center of the sphere, it erupted instantly. Emerging from the ball as strange being of energy, an odd looking creature that resembled a snow covered tree came from the ball and began to wave at whoever the Professor was talking to. "These astounding creatures come in all shapes and sizes and can be found, just about anywhere. Humans and Pokemon have lived side by side for as long as history can keep track of. Some merely play together, some work together and some even battle together! Myself? Well, I try my best to discover new things about our Pokemon comrades!" She went on to say, clearly getting more and more excited the further she went into it.

Calming down a bit, she found herself laughing a little before reaching behind her head and scratching it a bit. Letting out a groan, the Pokemon she brought out shook his head for a bit, then shrugged. "Anyway...Are you a boy or a girl?" She asked, leaning over a bit. Nodding at the answer, she smiled. "Well, it should've been obvious, shouldn't it?" She told herself as she folded her arms and looked away, smiling a bit nervously as she tried to hide her embarrassment. Looking back over, she shook it off and sighed. "So, what's your name again? I don't think you told me," She said as she looked back over at them for a bit. As she heard something, she stepped back and covered her mouth. "That's...definitely an interesting name," She said, clearly trying to hold back a small amount of laughter for some odd reason.

Turning her head away for a bit, she let out a small chuckle. Slowly turning back to look over at whomever it was she was speaking to, she let out a soft sigh. "Well, this is where we must part for now. From here on out, you shall be starting your very own adventure within our wondrous world. During your journey, you will meet hundreds upon thousands upon millions and maybe even trillions of different people and Pokemon who are all so drastically different. I honestly hope you have a grand time on your journey and find what it is you feel like you're suppose to do...A-Anyway! Have a great time adventuring in the world of Pokemon!" She went on to ramble, clearly feel a bit uncomfortable at the thought of someone having no real goals, before perking herself back up. Waving them off, the light slowly began to become even brighter until a loud sound rang out...

                                              Prof. Annabelle Maple
Head Prof. of the Citra Laboratory

At the top of the stone stairway that went up the tallest hill in Tosach Town's somewhat bumpy terrain, rested a two story building. Larger than most of the homes that resides in the town, the stone and log structure was far more than just someone's house. With a windmill beside it generating almost all of its power, this was the lab of the current Professor of the Citra region, Annabelle Maple. Sitting in her study with phone in hand, she smiled as her call ended. Setting the wireless home phone back on its charger, she slowly turned in the wheeled chair. Spinning in it for a brief moment, she seemed rather tired as her droopy looking eyes scanned over the somewhat dark room. "The arrangements have been prepared," She said out loud as her Snover walked into the room.

Approaching her, the frost tree Pokemon began to tug at her coat sleeve. Forcing her up, she looked down at her Pokemon as she seemed to be in a bit of a rush. "Something wrong?" She asked, before looking to see what time it was. Her tired eyes expanding, they looked somewhat blood shot as she quickly began to rush outside of her study. Looking around the lab to see no one had arrived yet, she began to try and make the mass of scattered papers and books all across the lab look at least the tiniest bit tidy. Putting on a handmade apron for herself, her Snover began to get to work on cleaning up the lab at a far more efficient rate than her trainer ever could do. Looking back at her now and then, the Snover let out a soft sigh, pushing out cold air as she did so.

By the time the new trainers were expected to, the lab was made to look somewhat presentable. Though it wasn't high tech and fancy, it carried a far more welcoming and home-like feel to it. With what looked to be a living room with a few couches up in the front, the walls were lined with bookshelves that contained many books that had been written by the previous Professor about Citra's wildlife and how the Pokemon of the region were adapted to the climate of Citra and other rousing facts and topics about the region. In the same room, a stairway leading up to the Professor's room and study were visible. However, these two rooms were obviously labeled, as to not confuse wandering trainers. Beyond the living room like entrance, there was a hallway that led to the restroom, the kitchen, the room the Professor stored Pokeballs in and the most important of all the rooms.

Standing in the room that the previous Professor used to give away Pokemon, Professor Maple looked at stand that had five Pokeballs on it. In these balls were the Pokemon she prepared to be given out as starting Pokemon today; Chespin, Cyndaquil, and Piplup. All three of these were Pokemon that were found within Citra. Not very common, but easy to raise, they made for perfect Pokemon for younger trainers to raise as their first or at the very least one of their firsts. In addition to the Pokemon for the "Golden Trio", she had obtained an Elekid, Magby, and Smoochum as back-ups, in case other rookie trainers showed up. All of these Pokemon were not caught in the wild though. Obtained through breeders, these Pokemon were far more domesticated than the ones available in the wild, ensuring they were ideal for raising.

Along with these six Pokemon, she had prepared multiple Pokedex. Based heavily on a rather trendy device that was all the rage with people, she had installed a camera into them. Making it so the trainers could take pictures of Pokemon they ran into within the region, the Pokedex would immediately share and upload pictures of whatever Pokemon they had seen so she could add it to the record for the yearly report of what Pokemon were found within the wilderness of the region. This easily was one of her best ideas for her research. Smiling at the multiple Pokedex, she quickly taped a serial number onto the back of each one. "Red, Blue, Yellow, Purple, Pink, Green, White and Black. Seems easy to remember if they are color coded, right?" She asked her Snover, who was still cleaning at this point. Receiving a small glare from her own partner, the Snover returned to trying to tidy up

A small smile crossing the Professor's lips, she was extremely excited for this event. It was the first time she would get to send rookie trainers out into the world and she could only begin to imagine what kind of adventures they'd get to have out in the world and what they'd get to see and do. It was worrisome given the nature of their region, but she knew that things would be alright in the end...probably.

Sound completely blocked out, there was a very strange sight to the residents of Tosach Town. As if blissfully unaware of everything around them, a young boy sat on the stairwell that led up to the Professor's lab. His ears covered by a pair of old headphones, a chord trailed down to his waist only to connect to a very old cassette player. Over his eyes, were a pair of equally worn out goggles. His eyes invisible under the lenses, from the view of passing strangers he must have seemed to have zoned out.

In truth, the boy was holding back a lot of frustration and sadness. With almost no one around, he couldn't possibly try to get directions to where he needed to actually be. It wasn't like he tried upon his initial arrive. Like an idiot, he cheerfully cried out that he was oh so excited to be in Utorein, the native region of his mother. Only seconds later did someone bother telling him he had arrived in Citra, just as the boat he came in on left. In a child-like fit, he took off running and found himself hiding away from his own rage towards the issue. "D'mmid," Was all that escaped his lips as the song of choice drowned out everything around him.

After a few minutes, his traveling companion had finally caught up with him. Trotting up to him, was a very pissed off looking Aron. This Aron in particular, was a natural grade A jerk. Glaring at the boy, the Aron called out to him. Unable to hear him, the boy just stared down at the Pokemon that was suppose to be his partner. Not even calling out to him a second time, the Aron lunged forward. Nearly striking the boy, he was quick to dodge the Pokemon. "Wazzai suppos'ta do? Leddit'n 'ut?" He asked as he stood up, almost starting to yell at the Pokemon. His mouth a gap for a moment, something resembling fangs was present in the boy's mouth. To any on looker, the wild-looking child must've been getting a bit weirder.

Clearly calming down a bit, the Aron fell flat on the stone road leading up to the stairs. Joining him, the youngster plopped down in front of him. The music still blaring from his headphones, he let out a sigh and hung his head low. Finally giving in, he could feel tears starting to form under his eyes. Unaware of what that day was or the significance it held to the inhabitants to the region and those purposely visiting it, he had chosen quite the spot to start crying at. Biting the inside of his lip, he forced himself to remain quiet as he hugged his knees closer to himself. He could feel it deep down in his core, that this day was going to only get worse.

LOCATION : Tosach Town, Laboratory
COMPANY : No-one
OoC : almost first

A vibrant morning was all Preston Hunter had expected from his day to meet the head labrat of the Citra region, and fortunately it hadn't disappointed. He had just arrived not a week prior and found temporary lodgings in the town called Tosach. It was a smaller town, but had everything to hold a supply even a large family. A boy and his Tyrogue wouldn't be particularly bored.

That said it wasn't boredom that gripped Preston so much as nerves. Even for a young man knowing what he had come here for, he hadn't given his official training career much serious thought. His middle school years would've seen him bragging to his friends about the nerds who go to the Lab for their Pokemon. Real trainers went out and got their own. Fortunately this attitude didn't extend personally to the rest of his family very much, but he could remember calling them and their friends as 'labrats'. It would have been a joke in his circle. Years and nautical miles away, he now found himself taking the road early in the morning to the lab like an older atheist going to church. He had no ill will towards the place itself or the people involved in keeping it going, and he wasn't nearly as ignorant about labs in general as some would've thought.

His only discomfort was one that he could only describe to his Pokemon as-

"What the hell am I doing, man?" The platinum blonde boy looked up at the two story building from a few dozen yards down the road, nervously ruffling the back of his hair.
"Ro' rogue, Ty-rogue!" the little Pokemon to his right answered, kicking a pebble aside.
"I mean, what do I say? It's not like I need more Pokemon!" the young Pokemon only rolled his eyes. His trainer was getting cold feet in a place that was entirely new and it wasn't about to spill over on his watch. Scrap leapt up and gave his trainer a literal and figurative kick in the pants before dashing away to hide in the bushes.

Preston glanced back at where Scrap used to be before grimacing and continuing up to the front door. There he couldn't help but see another boy with his Pokemon on the ground outside. Scrap had caught up at this point and both he and Preston shared a look. They thought they were the weird ones for showing up early, only to find out otherwise. Preston and his Tyrogue sauntered up, thrown off somewhat to see the other kid crying. The sentiment was obviously shared by his Pokemon that Preston now saw to be an Aron. Scrap noticed too and remained unsure how to approach another young but reportedly aggressive species. Preston nodded to keep his distance for the moment but continued up to the lab doors. Scrap dashed off and hid in the bushes while Preston entered inside. Admiring the simplistic architecture, and as Scrap kept an eye on the depressed Aron and anyone else arriving at the lab, Preston headed in and called out.

"...h-hello! Professor??"

Gray Lamoreaux
Fifteen year old from Forrimere Town

User ImageHaving never noticed just how far her home region of Lyseillie was from the region of Citra, Gray could only heave out a sigh of relief as she stepped down onto dry land. The boat ride over had been a long one, and it didn't help that a majority of her party had grown restless and wanted to explore the ship and the other inhabitants on it. Luckily enough, she was able to get them all rounded back up and in the safety of their pokeballs.

Well, except for Alpha who happily trotted beside her with his tongue lolling out the side of his mouth. With his tail high and waving excitedly, the Lycanroc seemed the most excited to adventure this new place. "Where should we go first?" The girl thought out loud, shuffling off to the side so that she wasn't standing in the way of the other people getting off of the boat. Reaching up to tap her chin with her finger, Gray wondered if they should just stop at the Pokemon Laboratory first. Check in with the Pokemon Professor, pick up a Pokedex and some pokeballs and be on their way.

But, she was very much jet-lagged from the trip, and some caffeine in her system sounded good right about now. Surely, she could find somewhere in this town to grab something warm to drink and then she could get her bearings on what to do next.

As she moved her attention to her companion to inform the Lycanroc on where they were going next, she found the spot that Alpha had been occupying to be empty. Eyes blinking in confusion, her gaze slowly lifted, enough to catch the sight of her Pokemon placing more distance between them as he already made the decision to go explore Tosach Town. "Alpha! Wait!" Quickly taking chase after her Pokemon, the fifteen year old tried to watch where she was going while also keeping track of the Lycanroc.

From the various stalls passed, the girl was beginning to question if the town was celebrating something. Whatever it was though, she would have to find out after she made sure that her Lycanroc didn't get himself into trouble. With how much of a glutton he was for food, she was surprised to see that he hadn't once stopped at any stall in an attempt to charm his way into getting some free snacks to chow down on. As troubling as that would be, it would at least give the teen some time to catch up.

It seemed that finally, Alpha had decided to stop long enough to allow his trainer to catch up. Coming to stop at the bottom of the stairs leading up to a much larger building then the rest, Gray watched as her Pokemon charged over to tackle what appeared to be the form of another person. Now, her Pokemon's intentions were clearly that out of being overly friendly, which has gotten him into much trouble before. This, was no different.

Tongue lapping at the boy's face, the Lycanroc gave little grunts and growls of happiness as he showed his way of greeting the stranger. Worn out from running after her easily excitable pup, Gray stumbled over so that she could pull the creature off of his unsuspecting target. "Alpha, this is not how we say hello to new people." She scolded, receiving only the flickering of his ears. Able to get Alpha off, she sighed as she finally lowered herself down onto her knees to slump against her Pokemon. "Sorry." Apologizing to the child that had been tackled, the girl could only hope they were alright.

Where: Tosach Town | With: Alpha ⇀ Stranger | Thoughts: Alpha will be the death of me.. Hopefully we didn't scare this kid.

                                              Prof. Annabelle Maple
Head Prof. of the Citra Laboratory

Lost in her own little world for a bit as she took in her own excitement and tried to not stress herself out, the Professor remained oblivious that someone had come in. Hearing the call for the Professor, her Snover was actually the first to react. Dropping everything she was doing, the Pokemon was quick to trot out of the study and into the living room that acted as a rather welcoming entrance for visitors. Tossing the frilly pink apron and broom she was using to the floor, she took a peek out into the room before going in to greet their guest.

The living room of the home that doubled as a lab was quite expansive. With a lit fireplace and a cornucopia of books lining the bookshelves that took up almost all of the space on the walls, it looked like some old man's study more than anything. That wasn't far from the truth, given the previous Professor who used to reside here was an older gentleman who took pride in his extensive library. She didn't really have the heart to get rid of anything, nor did she want to at the time.

Stepping out from the hallway, the Snover examined the young man who had arrived rather recently. He looked to be a bit older than the expected trainers to be, but that wasn't of any concern to the Pokemon. Instead, she was more interested in what he was here for. Moving in closer to him, the tree-like Pokemon didn't take long for her to grab onto the young man's arm and try to pull him along. Of course, try was something of an understatement. It was very evident that she was indeed a member of the monster egg group with that strength of hers.

Pulling the man along, the Snover let out a small call as she brought him into the room the Professor was. Sitting down, the woman was sorting through something rather quickly when they arrived. Glancing back at the sound of her partner, she was quick to stand up in surprise at the realization they were not alone. "O-Oh! I wasn't expecting anyone here yet with all the festivities going on in town," She admitted as she looked them over. The young man didn't look like he was a kid, so then what was he here for?

After a bit, a connection was made. She didn't want to just ask it, in case it was embarrassing, but she figured it'd be easier to get him to say something. "Is there something I can help you with?" She asked, giving a bit of an awkward smile to him. Maybe he was just someone coming to check out the lab though. If that was the case, she wanted to try and get him out as soon as possible, given kids could show up at any time to receive their starters.

Remaining seated as an older fellow passed him, Ryouta had begun to tune everything out. His eyes watery as tears flowed under the lenses of his goggles, he kept his eyes down. He didn't want this guy stopping and saying anything to him right then. He could feel that this guy would rather just avoid him entirely, just like a lot of other people would. It was commonplace, so it didn't really bother him much anymore. It was also the furthest thing in his mind.

Trying to loosely figure out a plan to get back on track, he shut his eyes. Sniveling, he could only come up with one plan. He needed to find a bigger port town, then try to find someone who was going in that direction anyway and hitch a ride. He didn't have a lot of money on him so buying a ticket there was almost impossible unless he was about to get more somehow. Unaware of what was approaching, he let out a small sigh finally.

Before he could do anything about it, a small grunt came out of him as he felt something big ram into him. Finding himself staring at a foreign canine-like Pokemon, it had him pinned down slightly and had begun to lick his face again and again. A faint smile cracking along his face, he reached up and planted his palm on the back of their head. Scratching them behind the ear, he let out a small yet almost monotone laugh. "Wur'djya c'me frum?" He asked, his accent making him difficult to understand.

Not long into the encounter, a girl that was likely the Pokemon's trainer had begun to pull the big pup off of him. As she scolded the Pokemon, he didn't take long to start trying to wipe the slobber off of his face and onto the sleeve of his shirt. Unable to hear her apologize, he stared at the heterochromatic girl. His free hand moving down to his waist, he turned the volume down on the music player and looked at her for a bit. Trying to figure out what she said, his expression was a blank slate. He had no idea what she was trying to tell him previously.

Taking her features in for a bit, it didn't take very long for something weird to come out. "Yer 'll sortza blak'n'hite," He said, taking immediate notice of the plate of her clothing choices. He really didn't mean anything by it, but if she was able to understand what he said, it might have seemed more than off. Sadly, that was how he really was.

LOCATION : Tosach Town, Laboratory
COMPANY : a Snowver and the Professor
OoC : oh boy

Preston closed the door behind him not a moment before the commotion outside, so he hadn't paid it much mind. Especially when he heard a thick slapping sound coming from around the corner. Like something was coming to greet him. The sound itself was a bit unexpected and raised his hackles slightly, but set him at ease when he finally saw the source. Preston chuckled to himself and knelt down to greet the Pokemon back.

"Hey there, champ. You helpin' out today?" The Snover, which he had only known about from hearing his brother talk about them. He was a fan of Ice types, that kid. Preston wasn't the biggest fan but never held much of a grudge against them either.

The Snover gave Preston since over and chattered briefly before reaching up to take his hand, which Preston took to be polite.

"Oh're we going for a w-OAH!" Preston was very nearly pulled all the way over, tripping over himself to keep up with the diminutive Pokemon as it nonchalantly led him down the halls to the Professor's office. He almost fell down as he was finally able to catch himself and his breath. The Snover chirped to let the red haired lady know it had found something, and Preston could only fumble to right himself as she stood up from her seat.

"No, I- That's alright! I was just going to say, your kid as quite an arm on him. Should have him pitching Little League." He chuckled slightly at his joke before the Snover bristled and chirped up at him, slightly offended. Preston caught on quickly and flushed slightly in return. "Forgive me, her."

Finally he looked back at the Professor. "Yea, um... you're probably wondering why someone old enough to be interning for you would be here at this hour.

Here's the thing: my whole family is really into two things, training Pokemon and going to school. My brother pretty much ditched everything, grabbed his cash, and fled during the night while I was out. I don't blame him; he wanted to see everything there ever was, with Pokemon at his side and unlock the keys of friendship, et cetera, et cetera..."

A cocky sort of confidence was slowly starting to build in the young man, even without his Tyrogue, who at this point was spying on the Lycanroc outside from the snow-covered brush outside.

"Me, on the other hand, I guess I never really got that, you know? Never knew those feels, if you know what I mean. I don't know what I imagined, but maybe thought being the black sheep would've been more. More what, I don't know. Just... more. I just wanted to do something different, but at the same time it kinda felt like all I knew."

Preston looked back and slowly realized he may have been oversharing. With a nervous chuckle, he continued, "...so, I ditched everything, grabbed some cash and fled during the night. I don't know what possessed me, but I figured maybe I should just go, it might even be good for me. I thought the Lab would be the logical place to go if you're new to the region, so here I am. My name is Preston, btdubbs. Preston Hunter, and if I'm going to do some soul searching, I wanted to ask politely for a Pokemon. Might just do me some good."

He did his best to not the confidence give way to his ego, and shrank back. The one time he wished Scrap was nearby and of course he wasn't. He wasn't entirely lying the entire time, but he tried to at least sell it to her at the end. Worst she could do was say no.

Ari Taniuchi Pokemon Trainer from Nacrene City
                                    • Making sure her hair was safely tucked under her hat and that Newt was securely draped over her shoulders, the young red headed child stepped out of the Pokemon Center and into the streets of Tosach. Having arrived a day early then planned, Ari and her Snivy had only had enough time to grab something quick to eat before crashing hard in one of the Centers rooms for visitors. Now that they were well rested, they could finally get to start their journey through the region of Citra. Starting with the town of Tosach.

Reaching up to wrap her fingers around the straps to her backpack, her blue eyes peered around her surroundings, finally taking in the scenery. It was much different from het own hometown, but then, she never expected them to truly look the same. She recalled the information given to her by the Center's nurse, told that the town was in celebration of the beginning adventure for new trainers. She could easily tell now, stalls lining the roads and an overflow of people.

Quickly stepping back as two kids around her age ran past her, the girl tried to hide the obvious fact that she did not like this. Crowds weren't much her thing, and her mood was already beginning to worsen with the amount of men around. Releasing one of the straps to her bag, the thirteen year old pinched the bridge of her nose. Two voices were ringing out in her head, the familiar voices of her mother and grandfather. 'Make friends, enjoy yourself Ari.' 'Look at all the Pokemon around you. Isn't this delightful?'

'This is a nightmare...' Were her thoughts on this, as she moved along the wall of the Center. Keeping careful track of what was going on around her, young Ari tried to find some space, wanting to be far away from the crowd of people.

Easily able to tell the discomfort of his Trainer by the stiffness of her shoulders and her attempt to keep as close to the Pokemon Center wall as she could, Newt tried as best he could to give comfort to the child. Nuzzling his small face into the crook of her neck, the Pokemon could only hope his efforts would help relax her just a little. And it was helping, but Ari just wanted to find herself away.

As nice as it would have been to take part in the festivities, she just wasn't one for the flock of attention it got from the dozens of people. Able to find herself a space between two buildings that was unoccupied, Ari ducked into there and put as much distance she could between herself and the other people. "Let's just find the Lab, and go." Speaking softly to her companion, the girl moved into the opposite direction of the festival and towards what she hoped was the right direction that would lead her to Professor Maple's Pokemon Lab.

                                              Prof. Annabelle Maple
Head Prof. of the Citra Laboratory

As the young man started to compliment her Snover, the Professor wanted to chuckle at how annoyed the Pokemon was at her gender being misidentified. It was a lot more obvious to someone who actually knew the physical difference between the Pokemon's sexes, but this boy clearly didn't know better. However, his knowledge about the species was likely limited, if what he was saying was true.

The story he was telling her felt almost unnecessary. Having trouble keeping up with how he was explaining what his brother had done, just to repeat the same actions that he took, the boy seemed more confused than she was somehow. Rubbing her temples as she tried to process everything, the younger Professor let out something of a sigh. "So...You came here to find yourself?" She asked, trying to confirm what he had said.

It wasn't that unbelievable. A lot of people at younger ages ended up doing this exact same thing. They'd set out on an adventure for however long and try to figure themselves out along the way. Many chose to be Pokemon Trainers in the process, so getting a starter was in the norm. He stated that he wanted a Pokemon, but she knew there were going to be some kids on their way here to receive their starter Pokemon. Was it even fair of her to let this guy go ahead and choose a Pokemon from the six she had prepared before any of the kids showed up?

As an idea came to mind, she started to smile. "I don't see an issue with letting you get a Pokemon, but if you're going to do so, you might want to check things out around the town first. I'm still in the process of getting things ready for the kids that'll be coming here in a little while," She told him with a half smile. It was true that she was still getting everything together, but she'd have rather had a few of them show up at a time. Letting this one get first dibs before everyone else felt a bit off to her. "I should have everything ready in about an hour, if you can wait," She told him, glancing off towards her Snover, who had resumed cleaning the lab.

Gray Lamoreaux
Fifteen year old from Forrimere Town

User ImageRemaining slumped against the large form of her Pokemon, Gray waited paitently for whatever the boy might have to say. Hopefully, he was like most kids, and would just shrug off the excitement of her Lycanroc. Though, there were always the few that ran off to cry to their parents and she had to listen to an adult scold her about how 'ruthless' and 'ill-behaved' her Alpha was. All of it not true, but they wouldn't take her words over their crying child.

Lifting her face from her pup's fur, her eyebrow slowly raised as the kid finally spoke. Though.. Were those even words that had come from him? Her face showed an obvious look of confusion as she tried to decipher what it was that he had just said to her. Was this the accent in this town? Oh dear Arceus, what was she going to do if everyone in this region had such a thick accent like his.

Closing her eyes, Gray took in a deep breath. It.. Sounded like he had said something regarding the colors black and white. Was he talking about her hair? Reaching up, her fingers combed through the long strands. Was the color strange? "Um.. Pardon?" Questioning him, she could only hope that he would clarify what it was he was talking about.

Where: Tosach Town | With: A boy and Alpha | Thoughts: Please.. Tell me everyone doesn't talk like this.

Blissfully unaware of the confusion from his words, the boy's eyes traveled all over the older girl from under the tinted lenses of his goggles. His azure eyes barely visible, the only indication he was examining her was the up to down movements of his head. He didn't really mean anything by it all, but he had never seen a person dressed like her. It was absolutely foreign to him and was somewhat intriguing. Her clothes alone seemed rather warm compared to what most normally wore back home, but why was it all so down the middle?

Hearing her speak out in confusion, he looked at her face. Did she want him to repeat himself? He didn't see why he needed to, he said everything as clear as day. No matter, if he had to, he would. "Yer gear'z'll dun da middul 'n diff'rnt kulas. S'm wiff yer hyre," He explained, sitting sitting down on the stairway. He didn't really see or understand why she was having such difficulty following what he was saying. Everyone back home understiid him.

Watching the scene unfold, the boy's Aron glared at the two. Looking at them both in disgust, the iron armor Pokemon let out a loud grunt before turning his attention up the stairway. Hopping up each step, he let out a small huff of air as he progressed up the path. Noticing at his partner was leaving, the boy glanced up at the Pokemon. Quite the impatient one, but the boy couldn't figure out where he was going. Neither of them knew where they were, so what was he even going to do after getting to the top?

As the brisk wintery wind blew through the town of Tosach and the townsfolk went about their daily business, a young boy gave a sniff as he tightened the last screw on the housing of a windmill's engine. He went inside the shop powered by the structure and flipped a breaker behind the counter, and the power gets restored. After a heartfelt thanks from the shop's owner, he respectfully nodded, accepted the negotiated pay, and embarked back out into the streets.

He turned up his collar as a playful Mawile chirped up at him. "I don't know, Jaws," he muttered in a raspy reply, turning up his collar, "I didn't need to be home 'til later, so let's look around. We don't usually have a reason to come to Tosach, after all." He paused at a street corner, overhearing conversation of someone called the Pokémon Professor, and how aspiring Pokémon trainers were invited to get started on their journey. He scoffed at first. What a silly idea. As he continued to walk though, he looked at his partner, remembering how she had rescued him in a mine not so long ago. He paused, and then contemplatively went back to ask the strangers about this event. "You have a Pokémon and don't know about this?? Go check out the Pokémon Lab - it's that two-story place at the edge of town!"
                                  -

After about 15 minutes of searching (and asking around), the pair arrived in front of the Lab. A curious and interested warble emenated from the Mawile, and Arys gave a small shrug. "Guess this is it? Let's take a look." The two started towards, giving a passing eyebrow at the two characters at the bottom - another fellow with an impressive brogue and a girl with an interesting get-up. The pair decided to wait by the bottom of the stairs leading up to the Lab, a ways away from the other two. Noticing their appearance, Arysclook down at his own dirtied work uniform. He decided to take a minute to remove his gloves (putting them in his pocket), brush off his clothes, and grab a handful of snow of the railing to rinse off his hands. This turned out to be a mistake immediately. "Jee-ah-ooh!" he exclaimed , shaking it off and rubbing his hands together. He looked at his Mawile, who was giving him an unimpressed look. " Shuttup."

"Fair enough. Thank you again."

Preston then kept his mouth shut as he quickly bowed a thank you before high-tailing it out of the Professor's office and out of the Lab.

If there was a cartoon version of him somewhere, it probably would have been crying of embarrassment, even though in the real world outside his head he seemed perfectly fine. He ran the Professor's recommendation through his head resulting in a bit of stress being relieved, and then replaced with the concern of a ruined first impression. If there was one drawback of coming from a family of labrats, he had the tendency to overthink and hyperfocus on mistakes. It naturally ran in the family.

He was able to catch his breath as he opened the front door. She did say come back in an hour, so he Preston shrugged and headed out to see a few other people en route down the street. He first noted the black and white girl with the Lycanroc and the Aron still there.

Scrap had successfully avoided the Lycanroc and dashed out of a similar bush from the opposite side of the road to catch up with his Trainer. Preston knelt down to acknowledge his partner.

"Crashed and burned, bud," he sighed. The Tyrogue was less than impressed and complained again. Preston only shrugged again.
"On the bright side, we can come back later, so we'll go get something to eat and circle back around. We'll get our stuff together and head out by lunch, how's that sound?' He did his best to sound optimistic and Scrap heard heard an honest attempt to organize, so it sighed and itself to his trainer's side. At least they didn't really have to be anywhere

The sun had risen a bit more and the morning was still young, and Preston considered the day open. He jogged down the stairs and, flashing the Lycanroc girl a smile and hoping he avoided the attention of said Rock type, headed down the road back towards town.
