Rules::
1)This is a LITERATE RP. I mean, I'm not to strict, but, I frown upon one-liners. Put some effort and thought into what you're writing, people!!
2)This is basically set after the seventh book. I mean, nothing important will really be incorperated, so if you haven't read the book yet, don't worry. This just means, Harry and the gang are no longer there, Voldemort is no longer at large, and people are still recovering from the war. Build a story around that.
3)Obviously, since you can't use Harry or anybody, you must create an original character. Please put some thought into this! I will be putting my suggested outline below.
4)Everything is welcome!! Yaoi, yuri, you can stir up trouble, just as long as you're not actually bashing anything, I'm okay. You can kinda flame if it's your character, and you're not actually being obnoxious and offending anyone.
5)Follow the TOS, as well as the guild rules.

The feast, as always was humongus. Four tables aligned in rows, just like all of the first years had heard that they would be, all of the hungry students chatting about their summers, and then falling silent as the group of first years walked in, soaked and shivering from the rain pounding outside. Atop of the stage was a battered old hat that looked like it had been around for hundreds of years-as it probably had been...The infamous sorting hat. From a rip in it's mouth, it began it's tune.

"Oh, you may not think I'm pretty,
But don't judge me on what you see,
I'll eat myself if you can find
A smarter hat than me.
You can keep your bowlers black,
Your top hats sleek and tall,
For I'm Hogwarts Sorting Hat
And I can cap them all.

Kara Bobington sat amongst the shivering first years, her heart thundering in her chest as she listened to the hats song...
'You might belong in Gryffindor,
Where dwell the brave at heart,
Their daring, nerve, and chivalry
Set Gryffindors apart;'
She recited these lines from the song in her mind, as she grew even more nervous. Her father was a Gryffindor, he was an amazing Gryffindor, but she was nothing like him. What if she didn't live up to his expectations?

Watching as the professor called out all of the names that began with an "A", she awaited her turn, which didn't take long. Her lat name was right at the top, after all. When she was called, she swallowed her nervousness and walked up.

In a moment of fleeting fear, she thought that it wasn't going to speak, and then...

"Hmm...You have indeed been through a great deal, growing from a young
girl to a fighter in mere years. You are truely a brave soul, it can only be: GRYFFINDOR!!!" The last word was shouted so loudly and suddenly that it caused her to jump fifty feet into the air, but, at the same time, she flushed with a happiness and pride, as she strode over to the cheering table summoning her.

Addison sat happily at the Hufflepuff table as she watched the sorting. Since it was the first day back at Hogwarts, she had done her hair differently. Over the holidays she had hung out with her friends back in Australia and they taught her how to style her hair in the latest fashion, which she was so proud of. Her hair was the colour of chocolate, but had striking colours filtered through it. It sat neatly on her head, slightly spiked up in some places and held back with pins in others.

The small group of both girls and boys that were seated near her were chatting softly about what they thought of the first years. Good and bad comments could be heard from them, but Addison tried her best to ignore them. Her best friend James sat next to her, a wild smile spread across his face as he watched the sorting. Nudging Addison softly in the arm he pointed to a young boy who was standing shyly at the back of the group as he waited for his name to be called. "Aww what a cutie," Addison said softly as she watched him for a moment then turned to James.
