I also make them for people on gaia if they want them.

The aren't from a culture. I don't know why they are called Dollz probably because they didn't have anything else to called them.

They are called "dolls" or "dollz" or "pixel dolls" (the varients go on) because the original idea is that you are provided a base which you clothe and decorate. Very much in the same way one mught use a paper-doll or a china figure and so-on, the artist chooses the clothing and styles that the doll displays.
(Some people, though, create their dolls entirely from scratch. This is to say, they creat their own bases and use them. This is the gray area of dolling and pixeling, because a doll usually has a complete base, whereas a pixel-artist may not complete the figure if clothing will be covering it.)
I hope I have this all right. Do tell me if it is otherwise.

I would be more impressed if you actually made those dolls yourself, instead of using a generator, as the watermark implies.

Quite, except that the clothing and such is drawn in by the artist and creator.

Teh Boxman, it is uncommon for the artist to make their own bases, though possible...

I'm sorry, i'm a member of thedollpalace so i have the watermark automatically put on. Is that a problem??

Yes, of course. Just not made by her, I suppose.
Male - If you scroll down in the left pane, you'll see "males" as well as couples which, not surprisingly, also has men.
Creepy - This is based largely on opinion. There are plenty of "gothic" style dollz out there, but you may not find them eerie or otherwise.
I found this site while searching and I think it's worth a mention...
