Body: I really hate how people consider people in the band geeks!!!! Being in marching band is harder than anyone would imagine......we aren't just walking around the field playing an instrument! We practice for hours in 90+ degree heat,practice our music until our lips are numb,and march SO MUCH that it isn't even funny! PEOPLE IN THE BAND ARE ATHLETES.........it requires endurance....lots of it.You gotta be dedicated to deal with practicing like crazy, standing in the sun FOREVER, and getting yelled at by your band director. Oh and dont forget about the rain!!! When we go to a competition it isn't just so we can go out on the field, play some songs, get off the field and watch the other bands! We go to competitions to beat the crap outta other bands. THATS WHY WE PRACTICE SO MUCH!!!!!! We work just as hard as the football team and cheerleaders. So next time you go to a football game, instead of just getting up at halftime to get something from the concession stand, stay and watch the bands. And clap. And cheer. Think of everything we do to make the show perfect.
