Is it just me, or does the released info on the new stages in Brawl sound really ridiculously awesome??
Most of them seem to be centered around stages of metamorphosis, for example the Bridge of Eldin exploding then being repaired, and the Castle Under Siege collapsing and dumping the fighters into its interior.
And the Wario Ware stage? Genius. Pure genius.
So basically, I like the new ideas for stages a lot. I'm sure there are lots of other gamers that will think that the changing scenery will take away from the fighting experience. Well, this is the place to talk about it!
What do you guys think? Love it or hate it? Any particular stage where you can see yourself holding many, many matches?

I do and I don't.
For me; it's a matter of what stages I'll be playing on for tournament play; What stages will be banned? What will be counter-picked? What can be counter-picked? What's neutral? What's default random?
This is what keeps me up at night.

As long as I have a decent area to fight on for more than a minute at a time, I'm happy. This is the reason why I hated Big Blue, Poke-Floats, and the Ice Climbers stage. You're too busy running around, trying to keep from falling out of the level, to worry about fighting your opponents. Sure, every now and then you can chip in a little damage, but overall the fight is boring. This is the main reason why I'm not so sure about the Warioware stage... It remains to be seen what kind of fighting atmosphere it creates.

I think Sakurai looks to be trying to get both sides of the smash world happy. For every Neutral Stage he shows, he then goes and shows a stage completely off the wall.

I love taking noobs there, and mindgaming the eff out of them (drop to the road, jump back up right away, but on the opposite side of the stage). Poke Floats I didn't like, then I did, and now I don't. X_X I can see the bridge (Eldin) getting banned quickly. What's to stop a fox from spamming the laser on one side, while his opponent is stuck on the other side, with no projectiles or reflector (unless they powershield), waiting for the bridge to come back. It's almost the same reason why Hyrule Temple was banned from tourney play; Fox would camp, and sit there and snipe his opponents with blaster fire. Hyrule got banned real early in the meta game. I can see Eldin Bridge getting banned too. I do see Pokemon Stadium staying as a neutral.

Oh Yeah, The bridge will be banned. In addition to what BlackTiger said, you must also remember that King Bulblin and Lord Bullbo will show and throw bombs on occasion.
Warioware will be banned too. The minigames will be too hectic for tourney fights. Still seems hella fun to play casually though.
I wouldn't call Pkmn Stadium Neutral just yet. The wind transformation could wreak some gameplans and we have yet to see the electric transformation. It could have a glaring issue.

I forgot about that. My predictions for Neutrals right now are: Battlefield (turned on for Random) Delfino Plaza (at least allowed in tourney play) Yoshi's Island (Seems like it's size is between Yoshi Story melee and 64) Pokemon stadium. Lylat seems like another venom. I predict banned.

Yoshi's Island will all depend on if the support ghost gives an unfair advantage. Lylat looks like it has lazer fire, If people can get hit by it, It will probably get banned. Also Smashville looks to be 100% Neutral but I don't wanna jump the gun.

I'm honestly not into changing environments. I like the biggest or most open ones there are, including Pokemon Staduim. I hate having to do anything but fight my opponent.

I play casually, so I guess I have a totally different perspective on the game than all you guys do.
I play games for their fun factor. The metamorphosis stages definitely meet that requirement of fun.
Er, at least, they sure look like they will.

I like to play all the stages casually too, but when playing 1 on 1 at pro level some characters can gain a huge edge in some stages (I'm looking at you, Fox)

Hmm...well, I think some of the stages are freakin' awesome!! But they each have their own little things that drive some players crazy. Personally, I LOVE moving/transforming stages. It just adds a whole new concept to the game and makes it more fun to play! mrgreen
