Story: In a small town, children have discovered a secret box that allows them to change their appearance into anything they want (age, race, height, weight, hair color, etc.). The problem is, the more they use it, the more problems it causes for them (changing age, for example, would cause everyone to freak out and even somebody to try to study the sudden change). The other problem is that the more they use the box, the more that they WANT to use it and can't stop from using it. The story centers on a group of kids who discover the box and it's secrets and form a soceity that is only for those who have used it to change themselves.

Name: (dusting0) David Wolfe
Age: (to start) 8. (after changes) 14-19 (depending on use, he constantly changes it).
Appearance: He is (at first) 4'2" tall and 85 pounds. He has short brown hair that is naturally highlighted and pale blue eyes. He is usually seen with a white tee-shirt and a light blue denim jacket as well as either khaki cargos or dark blue jeans and white tennis shoes. He also wears glasses, making him more distinguished/sophisticated, but others just find him nerdy (at least, his peers do).
Bio: David is always being picked on and always imagining that things could be better if he were "older" and "smarter" than the others. He also wishes a lot, but they never come true. He already is smarter than most people his age, but he wants to be older too. His parents are almost never around, leaving him plenty of time to wander the town and its nearby forest.

David was on his way home from school. He trudged sadly through the side streets, arriving quickly onto the quiet neighborhood that was his house's street. He went on past his house today, deciding to spend some time at the creek. His mom and dad weren't home now anyways, so why go to an empty house?

He dropped his bag by the side of the river and just at on the edge of it, crying. Why did they tease him so much about him being so smart and so... boring? He wasn't boring, was he? He stared at himself in the creek as another tear fell down his face.

Angelle's day was quite boring for once in her life. Her mother and her werent arguing that day, school wasnt stressfull, her friends were all away for the weekend and there was nothing left to do. She had finished all her homework in study hall, cleaned the house after school like her mother had asked and was now walking down the road thinking to herself.
'What else is there to do? No friends around, no cleaning to do, no swimming pool, nothing.' Angelle continued walking, heading towards the park. When Angelle arrived at the park she noticed there was no one there at all.
'Where is everyone on a nice day like this? Kids these days always want to stay inside and play video games. Might as well go to the creek and swim if no ones around.' Angelle started pealing off clothes, heading the back way to the creek. First her shirt, then her shoes and socks, and finally her pants. She threw them on a rock which was close by and climbed into the cold water. Not noticing there was a person down a little further from where she was she swam upstream on her back, wearing only her bra and panties.

David looked bluntly at the water, still thinking to himself: Am I boring and too smart?

He sighed and began to gather his things when suddenly, he slipped and fell down in the mud, completing his "worst day of his life" as he got mud on his new jeans. He began to cry, wanting so badly for today not to end this way, for him to do it all again.

He mumbled to himself, "If I were older, things wouldn't happen to me like this." He began to get up and walk away, bag in his muddy hand, when he saw a shiny object buried in the now-revealed Earth. He inspected it, finding that it was a shiny black box. He began to inspect it, wondering curiously what it was, his eight year-old mind wondering what the box was.

Angelle hearing the loud fall, jumped quickly and ran to her clothes, now knowing someone was around. She turned to face the stranger as she put her clothes on and then ran to see if the kid was ok.
"Are you ok little one?" Angelle looked directly into the childs eyes, seeing tears dripping from his eyes. She took his glasses and wiped his tears away and then noticed he was holding something. "What is that in your hand?" Angelle looked at the shiny black box in his hands.

David tried to snatch back his glasses, but he was too short to reach her hands. Had she come to make the day worse? Was she going to push him down and take this really neat looking box from him? Upset that the answers were all "Yes," he began to try to make her give his glasses back.

"Give em back! Give em back!" he screamed, the box somehow (unnoticably) sticking to his hand even as he let go of it with both hands. "Give it back you big, mean, stupid girl!" He, of course, had no idea that she intended no harm.

Angelle wanted to kill him, but he looked like he was 5 and she knew she would not only hurt him bad, but she would be in lots of trouble. So she handed the kids glasses back, took the box from his hands and held it up high so he couldnt get it. What ever this box was, it was hers now. She started to run with the box and headed home.

David screamed loudly as she stole that box from him. She ran after him with all his might, trying desperately to catch her, but eventually stopping and crying in the middle of the street. Great, now he had no cool box and his clothes were muddy AND he had to go back for his backpack. Why did today have to be so bad for him?

Angelle didnt stop running until she was back at her house. She was never mean to anyone and she couldnt believe what a bi**h she had been to that poor child. When Angelle saw the box up close she knew right away she had to have the box. Once at her house Angelle sat on her porch and looked at the box. "Hm," Angelle said to herself "It doesnt open, its really heavy as if something is inside it..." Looking at the box still she couldnt help but think 'Maybe I shouldnt have taken it from the kid, he might have been able to figure it out.' With that Angelle ran as fast as she could back to the creek where the box had been found, hoping the youngin was still there.

David cried in the street for a long time and then, just as the older girl was coming up to him (apparantly, to torture him more) he ran inside his house and ran up to his room, crying even more. If he wasn't "smart" to the kids, he was definitely a bit of a cry-baby still.

Angelle watched as the boy ran into his house. 'Why is he acting like this?' She wondered to herself. She knocked on the door, listened for footsteps and heard nothing. She turned the door handle and opened the door slowly, and stepped into the house. Angelle didnt notice how nice the house was or even how clean it was, all she cared about was finding that boy; she frantically searched the downstairs looking for the boy and didnt find him so she headed towards the stairs. Racing up the stairs she called out "Little one, where are you, I need your help with this box," hoping for an answer.

David sat in his room on his bed, crying still and wishing that she would just go away. Stupidly, though, he screamed at her, "GO AWAY YOU BULLY!" He had tried to remain hidden from her, but now he'd given himself away. He really wanted to have his box back, but he lied, "I don't even want that box!" Why was he so shy, why couldn't he stand up to her?

Simple... he was not old enough to be able to protect himself.
PostPosted: Fri Sep 14, 2007 6:34 pm
Angelle heard the boy scream although she didnt hear exactly what he had said so she followed the voice she heard. When she reached the door she thought she heard the voice coming from she knocked lightly and then opened the door to see the little boy crying on his bed. Angelle walked to the bed and sat down on the edge. "Wow, your bed is amazingly soft." Angelle said trying to be nice. "I..uh...brought the box back to you... couldnt figure out what it did or how to open it, figured you might know." Angelle looked at her feet feeling really bad about being so mean before and hoped the little boy would stop crying and forgive her.

David snatched the box back from her and began to examine it, almost forgetting she was even in the same room with him. He studied the oddly smooth sides, the entire cube was obsidian black with nothing sharper than the ninety degree points for edges and there were no indentions or buttons or switches or anything. Just six smooth sides on the black cube. He finally got aggravated and just simply tossed it to the ground.

"I don't know what the heck it is..." he said, more to himself than to her. "Maybe if I was older, I would be able to understand it better."

Neither person in the room could've ever been able to tell, but the box activated upon the wish. It shined more than it normally did and the wish would soon be granted.
