Personality: Matima is a quiet adult. As a puppy he was friendly and naive, ready to trust in an instant. But he overheard his mother's grim past, and her description of her lost pups - one of which looked uncannily like him. Since then, Mati has been determined to protect his mother and siblings from tragedy such as Miremba has already suffered.
Recently Matima has begun to develop seer abilities, and often appears ragged and exhausted from lack of sleep. Dreams of battles, death, and hyenas bother him constantly, interrupting his rest. Currently the dog is traveling with Gzifa and has been reunited with his brother, Khima. Overall, Matima is a loving, caring wild dog. Personality: Carefree, loving, and slightly foolish, Kiju is concerned with nothing more than his family. Personality: Tara was born into a litter of six female cubs, something her mother never saw happening. Her mother desired a son, and Tara became the object of that desire. Her mother was constantly trying to mold her to her own ideals. Tara was an unhappy cub, pressured to continue trying to be something she could never be. She tried her best to maintain a cheerful facade, if only for her mother. The stress of watching over all of her five siblings was wearing and left little time for her own childhood play. Tara became an adult far before her time. The return of her mother's brother, Banji, set spark to dry tinder and Tara ran away from home and the perceived injustices of her family.
Now Tara roams the no-man's-land between the pridelands and the Kusini Mwezi. She first came there with a male lion named Runai. Rune was the first lion she met outside of her home, and in fact one of the first non-family lions she's met in her life. From the first he treated her poorly, and Tara has since then come to believe that most lions are like this. She's grown bitter and caustic, often pushing others away without realizing what she's doing. Afraid that others only seek her out to use her, Tara is wary of making new friendships and letting others close to her. Upon discovering that her sister desired her death, Tara became determined to find Ohahira and settle their differences. Anger fueled her search, justified or not. However, her life with Rune (and her plans) were cut short when they ran into trouble, and the experiences since that time have made the female think deeply about the decisions she's made in life so far.
Recently Tara has returned to the outskirts of the Unity Walker pridelands, fulfilling a promise with a childhood friend. Being the only lion (outside her family) she's met who has been kind to her, she's almost giddy about the meeting. She's nervous that she'll find Juu to be the same kind of lion as Rune, but at the same time she hopes so much that he's different.
** Tara, now known as Isha, met with Juu (now Roho) and discovered that not everyone is as jaded by the world as she is. Their old friendship was rekindled and Tara, having no where else to go, returned to the swamps with Juu. There Tara was re-named Isha, meaning 'complete' and Juu announced the discovery of his own new name. Isha is slowly settling into her new home, and hoping that it will be her home for the rest of her life. A life she dreams she'll be able to spend happily with Roho.

Personality: Siri is bold, knows what she wants, and certainly isn't afriad to ask for it. Or just get it herself. She's strong without meaning to be, and can be pushy when she's excited. She is also blunt and honest. Siri doesn't play around with words, despite what her name might imply. As she's grown older, though, she learned a bit of diplomacy and tact - often forgotten when she gets too excited.
Siri has made several friends, including Ruffian, Daemon, Shin, and Camulos. Experience has taught her to be wary of water, though she has recently learned how to swim. She loves to explore, and has natural leadership qualities. She also has quite an imagination, and despite her age still occasionally plays pretend games with other cubs. Siri loves children, and someday dreams of having a large family of her own.
This dream has recently come true - Siri and Cam have their own small family - Rue - a tiny, lively silver cub, So - a beautiful combination of both parents, Obi - a reminder that no matter what the past held the future is always there, and Taja - a sweet, unassuming mix of her two parents. Personality: Raji is a bright young pup, but she's also extremely opinionated and at times, narrowminded. Not in the meaning that she discriminates against others; rather, she just sees the world in black and white. This is most likely due to her young age - time and experience will add shades of grey to the mix.
The pup loves all of her family but isn't especially attatched to anyone, including her parents. With fourteen brothers and sisters, it can be difficult to get attention! Despite her understanding of right and wrong, Raji is prone to getting into trouble in an effort to gain her parent's attention.

Personality: Kienge is rather conceited and often self-centered. His father maintains that females are the strong point of the firekin, and so his original disdain for girls is fading fast. When he's in the company of other Firekin (especially those who have earned his respect) he's polite, friendly, and talkative. He adores his father, though he's begining to realize that the relationship is a bit one-sided. Somewhat starved for affection, the male will buddy up to almost any firekin who offers him friendship.
The side he shows to slaves couldn't be more different. Towards both his personal slave Tanana and his father's own slaves, he acts cold, callous and indifferent towards their suffering. Unafraid to punish or search for faults, he's known as a harsh, even cruel, master. Those who are assigned to him are best served by following his orders to the letter.
Currently Kienge seems to constantly be on the edge of a violent rage. His anger is directed no at those around him (and not even at the slaves who still serve the traditionalists) but rather at those who have betrayed him and the pride. Though his enemy could be considered to be Mahakali, his hate is directed more at the ones who started the revolution, and at the old king for being too weak to hold the pride together.
Though he may not be too aware of it, his turmoil is in part grief from the splitting of his family and the loss of childhood friends. A brother and mother on one side, and a father on the other... only Kienge's fierce loyalty to the traditionalist beliefs keeps him from begging his family to heal their schism. Over time, they'll likely become another target of his hate.

Personality: Kivuli is sweet, even-tempered, and absolutely ADORES his older brother Shin. He loves to get dirty (much to the dismay of his parents) and spends many afternoons plowing through muck on the edge of the waterhole. He also has come to the conclusion (thanks to Shin) that girls are synonymous with gross. He torments his sisters when he can by teasing them with bugs, mud, and anything he thinks they won't like.

Personality: Around her masters Addae is fearful, timid, and completely obediant. As her sister Tanana has often told her, it's better to be obedient and humiliated than beaten. She rarely speaks in front of her "betters", unless directly asked a question. Despite the knowledge of her rank, the cub takes some pride in her work and strives to do her best. This makes her a good slave, and perhaps someday will earn trust from her masters that can be used against them.
Around her siblings, Addae completely changes. She becomes cheerful, determined, and clings to Tanana's preachings of a better world (though she doesn't really believe that they'll ever reach them). To her, Tanana's dreams are nothing more than fairy tales, though she'd never tell her siblings her true feelings. She tries to be strong for her sisters and brother and worries about Tanana especially, due to the punishments she takes on herself. Had Addae grown up in a free family, she would undoubtably be considered girly. She loves flowers and has a distinct dislike for being dirty, although her position as slave gives her little choice in the matter.
The rebellion has left her torn away from her small family, and she's rather adrift and alone in a sea of confusion. All these lions who were once masters are now... equals? Despite the reassurance that she's no longer a slave, Addae cannot adjust to the new circumstances. She's constantly searching for some small task to do, some small tool to fix or den to clean. Currently she's apprenticed to her previous master's mate, Kaanga, as a storyteller.

Personality: Bem is kindhearted and, like his name implies, peaceful - he'd avoid confrontation at all cost, although he can occasionally be enticed to play-fight with his siblings. Bem was also somewhat large for a cub and has grown into an even larger lion. He is VERY conscious of this, making certain he doesn't hurt anyone. Despite his care, he is constantly tripping and stumbling his way through life.

Siyara is the definition of a nature girl. She's not afraid of getting dirty, especially if it means she'll get to learn the answer to her latest question. Siyara is also a very independent young lioness - she knows what she wants and isn't concerned by the prospect of fetching it by herself. She may seem a bit aloof - constantly hanging around with insects and other creatures rather than her family. It isn't dislike that drives her away from her family, though - rather, its an unceasing need to know everything about the natural world around her.
The departure of her mother will carve a hole in her heart. Instead of turning to her friends to fill it, however, Siyara will instead retreat into her own world of exploration and imagination. It takes a lot of effort to break her out, and she can more easily be reached by those who choose to join her games rather than destroy them.
Currently Siyara is on her name pilgrimage away from the Swamplands. Though she misses her siblings, she knows she'll see them soon (after all, they DID plan things out!) and the broad new world around her is fascinating!
