November contest- of have been decided- see those posts

OK, here's the deal. I would normally choose a Thanksgiving Theme for November, but since we have members of the guild from around the globe, that isn't exactly fair to everyone. And we want it to be fair to everyone!!!

So, with that in mind, I want suggestions from everyone for a theme. We have about 3 weeks to decide on a theme that everyone is comfortable with and then I will post it here to start November 1st. It will run till the end of the month. Prize- will probably be a donation letter, unless you would prefer gold!

So- think and post here- what do you want the contest to be?

It could be like a Fall/Autumn theme [kinda like Augustish, but different? sweatdrop ]

I don't know, I would normally associate November with THanksgiving... instead of an American Thanksgiving, we could have an around the globe thanksgiving, except just celebrate them all at the same time? If that made sense? ><

I think we should have a Fireworks night theme.

Uhh ... I would guess it's not well known outside of the UK but here goes.

On November the fifth, Guy Fawkes tried to blow up parliament here in the UK.

I'm sure you can find more on line, because whilst I know about it, I don't remember years very well.

Another good idea that we celebrate in Mexico and in some Latin American countries is Day of the Dead. We celebrate that on November 2nd to be exact. On this day we remember all those in our families that have died and in certain places festivities go on! They also make this really special bread called "Dead Bread" which has the form of bones on it! blaugh

ok.. so we have Thanksgiving, Day of the Dead & Guy Fawkes Day---- any more ideas? I think we can incorporate a couple of these into November- I just have to get the prizes for them and that would be ok, too....

How about a Winter Festival celebrating all of the good things about winter?

(For someone from the UK like me ... this merely means it gets a bit wetter and colder! blaugh )

With a winter themed dress up contest and such like?

ok.. two contests in November- one starts November 1 and ends 15th

That one will be a picture/and or writing contest:
For the non-US citizens, we create: a Day of the Dead & Guy Fawkes Day

I want entries symbolizing what this day means to you. Pictures can come off the internet or be made up, if you don't want to give a picture, then write a short- no more than 100 words about what this day means to you!


Contest 2 starts November 16 and ends November 30
This is the US Thanksgiving contest- again pictures (preferred) and/or writing

Prize PER CONTEST- 5k for best of each, 2k for 2nd place- in case of tie- the prize money will be split between contestants- no tie breakers

ALL CREW MEMBERS WILL VOTE ON EACH CONTEST!!!
