NanaoThrowsPetals I am not good at explaining, but I love semicolons. They're sort of like dividers in your sentence, but you have to have complete phrases which are related on each side. Example: Correct: Jim has my lunchbox; I have his. Incorrect: Jim has my lunchbox; I like peas. Incorrect: Jim has my lunchbox; because he didn't look carefully. Someone correct me if this isn't right.
I believe you are correct. Yes, both sides must be complete sentences, and they must pertain to each other, as in example one that you gave.
What I forget is if the sentence that starts after the semi-colon is capitalized or not. Does anyone know?
