Waking up, the male stretched and noticed that he was alone this morning. Ah, Sevati must have gone off to get some breakfast. This would be the perfect time for Ravi to go searching. He wanted to get her something special from the ocean as he remember seeing a bunch of pretty shells a while back. One of those would make the perfect gift for her. He got up and shook himself as he padded off in the direction of the shore to go seashell hunting. He had to find the perfect one for her.

Funnily enough, just a bit further down the beach, someone else was searching for shells. Although Neoni'liga already had a shell necklace that she treasured, she had continued to collect shells all her life to make jewellery for others. She reserved her most favourite shells for herself though, in the hopes of one day having a son or daughter of her own to share them with.
Carefully, she waded into the ocean, giggling every so often when a wave caught her off guard. It was harder to spot shells in the sea than it was on the beach, but it was the biggest and best ones that rarely washed up, so she would have to work for them. "Aha!" She grinned triumphantly as she spotted a large shell, much like the one that was the centre-piece of her own necklace. Smiling, she scooped it up and awkwardly made her way back to shore using only three paws. Because she was so busy with what she was doing, she failed to notice the approaching male.

As the male had headed towards the spot where he knew many seashells were, Ravi was in for a surprise. Not too far off, in the place he was heading to, was a brightly colored female. He took her in, noticing the seashell necklace on her figure. He silently wondered if she had made that herself and if so, perhaps he should ask her for her help in making a bracelet for Sevati.
He didn't want to startle the female since she seemed to be highly focused. As he came closer to the shore and where she was, he greeted her, "Hello! Looking for seashells as well?" At least he could have some company to spend the time with, and perhaps make some more friends.

Neoni'liga's ears perked as they registered a greeting, causing her to raise her head and quickly look around. When her crimson eyes finally fell on the red and green male, she cheerfully waved the paw in which she was clutching her latest find. "I just found a really good one!" Saying that, she made it the rest of the way to shore and flopped rather heavily into a lying down position
She was eager to examine the shell in her paw, despite the fact that she now had company. Not wanting to seem ignorant though, she motioned for the male to come over. It was then that she realised that not only was she soaking wet, she had plopped herself straight on to the sandy beach, so now half of her body was covered in wet sand. "Oops." She murmered to herself, hoping that the male wouldn't find her too silly to look at. Grinning sheepishly, she waited for him to join her. "I just love collecting shells, so I can get a bit over-excited sometimes."

At the wave, Ravi returned it with a smile to the female as he made his way over to her. He saw her wet and covered with sand, reminded him of the other day that Sevati and him played in the water. His gold eyes peered at the shell, seeing that she had found a good shell. Ah, well then he could definitely find a good shell for Sevi. He grinned, "It's quite alright, it's good to have a passion for something since it makes us who we are. But you definitely did find a great shell!" He introduced himself, "I'm Ravi, it's nice to meet you!"

"Hehe, thanks!" Neoni'liga chimed as she set the shell down so that she could carefully clean the sand from it. As the water lapped up towards where she was lay, she cupped the shell in her paws and allowed the sea to clean it. It turned out to be a very pretty salmon pink one. "This one's going in my own personal collection!" She beamed, before giving Ravi her full attention.
"My name is Neoni'liga. Pleased to meet you Ravi!" As she looked over the red and green male, she smiled widely. "Oooh, I love your mane colour! It's like a really dark shade of aquamarine. The sea can turn that colour sometimes you know!"

With a smile, Ravi watched Neoni as she cleaned the shell. As the sand was washed away, he saw the color it was turning out to be. It was a pink color, almost the shade of Neoni but paler. At her compliment, he gave her a lopsided smile. "Thanks....I've never had anyone compliment my mane before. I've never really thought about my mane color until you've mentioned it...I guess it would definitely match the sea." He chuckled softly, "You'd match the shells with your bright colors."
He was curious, "Do you have a large personal collection?" His gaze shifted back towards the shoreline where the ocean came in, "Are there more shells left? I was actually hoping to find one."

(( gonk Again, sorry for the wait. ))
For such a large and strong-looking lion, Ravi seemed very friendly. Neoni'liga took to him straight away, although, that was the case with pretty much everyone she met. "You should be proud of it!" When the compliment was returned, she giggled gleefully. "Thanks! My mother is really brightly-coloured, so I was lucky to get all her nifty colours. My siblings are all mostly brown." Saying that, she couldn't help but look proud, as she had always loved the fact that she stood out among her siblings.
At the shell question, Neoni'liga nodded with enthusiasm. "I've been collecting shells ever since I was a cub, so my collection is pretty big now." Saying that, she motioned a little further down the beach towards where the cave dens were. "I keep them buried near my den. Would you like to see them?" She laughed at the idea of her hoarding all the shells on the beach. "There's plenty of lovely shells still to be found. I only keep the best ones I find for myself!"

((It's alright Masa! *snugs* <3))
He couldn't help but chuckle at Neoni's remark. It was always nice to stand out, especially when you were proud of it. He's never really taken much time to really reflect on his colors because of where he was from. His gold eyes looked at Neoni before he nodded his head, "Oh very much!" If she had all the pretty shells that she liked, perhaps there would be one that he would find that he'd like. Afterall, he was out here searching for a shell. "I wouldn't expect anything less than keeping the best for yourself!" He chuckled, "I was actually going to go and look for shells myself. I wanted to find a nice one for my mate. So I guess I'll get some ideas of which shells are nice by looking at your collection!" He had such little experience with the ocean, he's never been around such a huge body of water before.

"Great!" Saying that, Neoni'liga motioned for the male to join her at her side as she lead the way towards her secret shell stash. Not wanting to damage the shell in her paw, she hopped along using only three legs, keeping the paw with her shell in it raised. She looked rather funny doing it, but she didn't mind.
When Ravi revealed that he was wanting a shell for his mate, she looked delighted. "That's so sweet! I wish I had a mate that wanted to find me presents." She said with a laugh, although she had never really thought about finding a mate before now.

As she motioned him to follow, Ravi did just that. He watched her curiously, wondering if she wanted any help but didn't know if asking her would offend. Seeing that she wasn't having too much trouble, he smiled softly. At her words, he couldn't help her blush. He was still new to this mate thing in the first place, it was just a change to call Sevati his mate. He chuckled at her words with a slight tease, "Don't worry! I'm sure you're brightly colored pelt will have no problems drawing the males to you!"
As he walked next to her, his golden eyes looked out at the ocean. Watching the waves roll in and out, "It's only recently that we became mates actually. But she's been slightly down so I was hoping that bringing her a present would cheer her up," He paused brieftly, "She loves the water very much."

Neoni'liga beamed at the male's comments, although she couldn't help but laugh at the idea of males being drawn to her by her bright colours. "I guess if it works for birds, it can work for me!" She replied, still laughing.
At the mention of his mate, Neoni'liga couldn't help but let out a romantic sigh. "Awww, it's so nice that you want to cheer her up. I'm sure she'll be thrilled to bits with whatever you bring her!" Saying that, she lifted her head slightly as she spotted the dens not too far away. "Almost there!"

A soft chuckle escaped from the male as Ravi listened to Neoni. It was definitely contagious afterall. His golden eyes looked at the brightly colored female before him as he nodded, "Oh yes!" To her comment about the colors. It was nice to stand out, and it was also nice to blend in. It just all depended on the individual.
As she had told him that they were close, he felt elated at the news. "I hope so. It'll be nice to have a piece of the ocean with you all the time," He paused before continuing, "Alright."

When they finally reached the den that Neoni'liga had once shared with the rest of her family, she trotted over to a palm tree that grew just to the left of the entrance. Once she was stood underneath it, she flopped down and placed her newly-found shell to one side, so that she could start digging. Carefully, she moved larged piles of sand to the sides with both paws, and eventually she found her buried treasure.
Grinning, she moved aside so that Ravi could see. In the shallow hold there lay a huge assortment of shells in all shapes, sizes and colours. "Like I said earlier, I only keep the best ones for myself." She said proudly, before nudging Ravi with her paw. "I'll let you have one if you like." She smiled. "But you'll have to find the rest by yourself, or it wouldn't be as special!"

The male had followed after Neoni before Ravi spotted her den. He was a bit hesitant about being so close to another's den, it was hard to get rid of those memories back when he was living in the desert. He just had to remind himself that that Neoni wasn't a firekin, but a regular lion just like himself.
He was curious, as he watched her quietly. Ah, so she buried all her shells. That's smart, so others don't come and steal them. When she moved aside, he walked over towards her before peering down at her collection. It held so many shells, of all sorts of colors! With a nod, "Oh yes, they're all so very lovely!" His eyes settled on a sort of pale peachy shell. He picked that one up and looked to Neoni, "I think I like this one though, and I'd definitely like to thank you for the shell." He smiled, "But of course! I can't take anymore credit for finding shells if I don't look for myself now!"
