Adamu was a grown male now with a soft mane and strong build. He beamed when he walked now, he felt powerful and full of pride. His paws softly pushed against the earth as he stopped and smirked at his son Teko.
“My my, look what I found!”
He laughed and rolled onto his side, batting at his son’s side playfully.
“What are you doing here all alone, where is your mother or brothers?”

Teko was broken from his reverie as his father rolled into view, his own little form toppling over. His tail curled upwards, head tilting, a grin splaying on his young face as he hopped up and half-squealed, half-groaned, "Papa!" He shuffled around his father's large feet, pawing at his mane and snuggling into it.
"I was just watching the clouds," the cub said, looking back up pointedly to the fluffy wisps floating amiably in the sky. "I think mum might be by the water? She goes there a lot... Izulu might be exploring, but I'm not sure where they are." He frowned momentarily, eyes squinting thoughtfully. "Mum told me looking at the clouds was fun, so I thought I'd give it a try. What're you doing?"

As his son spoke Adamu smiled deeply and purred. He was so happy with his sons, they were all so smart and perfect in his eyes. He settled himself beside Teko and spoke out.
“Mmm, your mother can be strange but she is right, the clouds are fun to watch.”
He knew it would take time for him and his mate to get use to the… cub thing- but they would manage, he was of higher class now and the king made him feel so important, Adamu wouldn’t do him wrong and he wouldn’t do his family wrong.
“Teko, would you like me to show you my secret place? My mother once took me when I was small- and now it’s my place, the place I go to when I want to get away or relax.”
He wanted to show his sons, he wanted them to feel what he felt when he was a cub with his mother.

"Yeah, but momma watches them for so long!" Teko exclaimed, shaking his head with a tiny laugh. He looked left and right in a sly sort of way, and then leaned closer to his father, whispering, "I even think she falls asleep sometimes." After he said so, he burst out into a fit of giggles, rolling backward, all of his paws in the air.
He so loved to be with his parents, so loved to just loll around and play. Even though they weren't perfect, and sometimes forgot they even had cubs, he wouldn't ever trade them for anything. He just hoped he could somehow show them how much he appreciated their efforts. He knew that he would have to wait until he was older and bigger, like Adamu, to prove himself, though he never really gave growing up a thought - he didn't want to think about it.
The grown-ups... they seemed so strange, alien, yet familiar. He wondered if Ari and Izulu thought the same.
At the sound of his name, he looked up, hopping onto his feet. "Secret place? Woah, where's it at?" The young cub's heart felt like it was going as fast as a cheetah - he had heard that they were fast - and his blue eyes widened in excitement and wonder. "When can we go? I wanna go now." He whined, looking up at his father and pawing at the air. "I bet it's really cool!"
