My cell phone rang again today.
After a ~1 min pause I got a hello and after she spouted out 10 seconds of what she was saying I interrupted with an, "uh um..." and to my surprise it actually interrupted her! I figured her to be a bot, anyways I told her to not call and she replied with can I speak to Peter ---- who is my father who reactivated my phone no later than a week and a half ago but this is my phone. She went on to say that she is from Western Union calling on the behalf of T-mobile, the service company the ******** jobs that sold my number to them and possibly a whole other list of c**k gobblers. So then I...

I pounded my fist on the wall and said, "just don't call!" in a pretty harsh sounding voice.
She said I'm not sure why but, "but we--" then I hung up.

Can telemarketers do that after you say not to call? Just ask for the name on the account and go on?

His name is on the account but it is my phone, my number.

PS
I know about the do not call list, but I don't remember the number, my mother knows though.

PPS
mind you I've had two telemarketers call my phone the week of that it was re-activated.

Be an example to your men,
in your duty and in private life. Never spare yourself,
and let the troops see that you don't in your endurance
of fatigue and privation.

Look up a list of "ways to have fun with telemarketers" on the internet. This should hopefully make things a little bit better.
EDIT: I got you a link http://www.keepersoflists.org/index.php?lid=624

Always be tactful and well-mannered and teach your
subordinates to do the same. Avoid excessive
sharpness or harshness of voice, which usually
indicates the man who has shortcomings of his own to hide.

Try to sell them a Ron Popeil item. I've always wanted to do that, but I haven't had an English-speaking telemarketer call me for years.

Now could I get in trouble if I played sound bites of Stewie Griffin? Especially the part where he says, "as First Lady of the American stage Hellen Hayes once said... "I'm going to kill you""?

I don't know, but do you think it's worth the risk?

Keep it clean and just try to have fun wasting their time. I wouldn't use the Stewie quote, threats never turn out well.
The no-call list doesn't do much, but it'll stop a few. You should be able to find the number somewhere on you phone and enter it online.

If you waste as much of their time as possible, you can get them fired for not meeting quotas wink

In seriousness the do not call list doesn't work worth s**t. My sister put our number on the do not call list, but still we get at least a dozen calls a day full of various bot recordings. If it does work then it just stops the live callers.

If the number shows up when they call you should search it into Google and maybe find out what company it is. Then pretend to be from the company they're calling from. Might be a fun way to mess with them.

I kind of wish telemarketers called me so I could screw around with them.

I've done this once or twice. I kept getting calls from the same number one day that was just crackling and beeps. Googled the number, and discovered it was a manufacturing company I'd called a month or two previous. I called the number back, turned out the guy was pocket-dialing me. Then there was the other time where this same number called me all the time, but NEVER when I was actually available to answer. Googled the number, and it was a collections company. Took me weeks to figure out why they were calling me. Then, come the end of the month and time to pay my credit card bill, I discovered I'd canceled the transfer mid-transaction the previous month, and the bill hadn't been paid. I rage'd over that for a week.
