Okay, you're brushing your hair after a shower, or falling asleep, and suddenly poetry hits you. For me, it's either about the present, or the future, but it always relates to deep feelings. Do you sit down and think, "I want to write a poem today. Let's list some rhyming words and kick off from there" or does it just sorta hit you like a rock in the windshield?
(I know, I haven't been making sense at all today.)
Here'se a poem I wrote a few weeks ago, doesn't rhyme, but has to do with the future (for me and my boyfriend)
Wrote this one falling asleep. Looks quite messy on the piece of paper; I didn't have a light.

Twelve Seasons have finally passed
It is you I am to see at last
I'm driving down the road
and curse at the address in my hand
'Maybe I'll just turn here'...
And then I wonder.
Just how much have we changed?
Does your voice sound the same?
Could you please tell me your name?
For I forgot it.
It's been too long.
I walk up the front steps
quietly humming a song
Then, an elderly woman answers the door?
"Is he here?"
"No, child, he is long gone."
