The day was bright and sunny, the perfect day for Sevati to go and wander along the beach. Her lime green eyes glanced back to make sure that her mate was still with her. Mate. It felt weird saying that now, since she had always considered him her companion in the first place. She couldn't help but smile at Ravi, "Come on, Slow Poke!" She teased him playfully. It had been a couple of days since she last saw Siyasura and she was hoping to run into her silver friend.
"We should see if Siya's around." She thought outloud. The teal and crimson male couldn't help but catch that look in Sevi's eyes. Oh no, Ravi knew that she was going to be up to something today. He stuck his tongue out playfully at her as he walked alongside her, "I can't help it if I want to take in the scenery!" A soft purr escaped as he felt his toes touch the edge of the incoming wave. It was nice and cool to the touch. His gold eyes scanned the area as her heard her words. He had heard all about Siyasura the other day, her and Sevi definitely hit it off from what he could tell. But, he still wanted to meet the rest of the members of the pride here.

Tamba had felt a lot less stressed since the instatement of a new guard for the pride. And as far as he could tell, Kota was enthusiastic and enjoying his job. It left time for Tamba to assess his pride's situation. They were growing well. Nkechi and Manoari's litter were quite lovely, despite getting lost amongst the sand dunes now and then. Perhaps a nanny would be in order? And then there was his very ethereal daughter Miani. Hrrmm...so much for him to think about. It was during one of these long thinks that he happened across the red and white pair.
They were walking along the beach, and no matter how many times Tamba met new lions, it always made him smile.
He approached them and scrambled atop one of the large boulders that dotted the coast.
"Greetings."

With a soft giggle, Sevati's lime green eyes spotted a figure not too far off. She flicked her tail against Ravi as she made her way towards the other male. As she looked him over and heard his greetings, she couldn't help but notice a slight similarity between his colors and Siya. Maybe this was her father, the lion she's been looking for! With a bright smile, she greeted him, "Hi! Are you Siya's father, by any chance?"
Walking alongside his mate, Ravi also noticed the male but he didn't catch the significance of who this was like Sevi did. But nevertheless, he greeted the other with a small smile, "Hello." It was perfect timing, they could meet someone new in the pride now that they were going out more to meet others.

"My, you're quite quick off the mark. Not afraid that I could be an intruder?" he teased, his demeanour not suiting of an unwelcome guest. He was far too friendly and approachable.
Tamba kept his manners despite his playful attitude and he bowed politely to both Sevati and Ravi. He couldn't help noticing Ravi's pelt colour and felt somehow that his pride was an attraction for those most infamous of fur coloured lions. He assumed Ravi was like Khepri and Akamu, a Firekin who had left their lands in search of inner peace. All he could think was that the waters must cool their sun-burned fur.
"I'm Tambuzi, the king of these lands."

At Tamba's words, Sevati couldn't help but giggle softly. She shook her head, "Of course not! If you were an intruder, why would you greet us first? I would think that you'd want to blend in and not be noticed if you were an intruder." As the king bowed to them, she returned the gesture. So, this was Siya's father afterall! Just who she was looking for.
She glanced at her mate before she turned her gaze back towards Tamba, "I'm Sevati, daughter to Akamu whom I'm sure you spoke to many moons ago. I've been hoping to run into you sometime. I wanted to talk with you about staying here in the pride along with Ravi."
Ravi let Sevati do the playful banter with the king before he bowed his head in return. It would only seem appropriate to do such an action, especially to an important lion and the one who ran the pride in which he wanted to live in.
After Sevi spoke, he introduced himself as well. "I'm Ravi and it's a pleasure to meet you," He paused to collect his thoughts. "We both wanted to speak with you about some things." He felt very uneasy about being in a place without the consent of the leader. He knew what it was like to be unwelcomed and unwanted, especially where he had grown up. Being born a slave made it hard for him to be comfortable anywhere without permission.

"Ah yes, never thought of that. Its not often you meet an inturder with manners," he chuckled.
He accepted their greetings and then turned a shade more serious at Sevati's request. He had indeed met their father a while ago, but could only recall one cub being with him.
"Hrrm well, I like lions who can prove themselves useful. Pridal life is so fragile, especially in one so small and new. What can you do?"

At Tamba's words, Sevati knew that the request was simple. She definitely wanted to help out and be useful to the pride, but how could she do that? Thinking for a moment, she glanced at the water before smiling. She had gotten an idea now, it didn't take her too long to realize something that she loved. Cubs! She was always so playful and liked to have fun, so perhaps she could watch any cubs for the pride? "I had assumed so, it wouldn't be right to come here and not do nothing in return," She paused before asking, "Does this pride have any cubs yet? I do like cubs and perhaps I could watch them from time to time if any parents need to go out? It could give me the much needed practice for when I have cubs of my own someday." She laughed softly at her last words, she did want to start a family sometime afterall. Her older sister already had cubs that have grown.
Ears flicked while Ravi stood there in thought. He didn't know what he could do to help contribute to the pride. He could hunt fairly well. With his size, he could also be a guard or some figure that looked out for the wellfare of the pride. He wasn't too sure, but when he listened to his mate, he couldn't help but see her happy face. She was a cub at heart, always wanting to have a good time. Once she had finished, he turned his golden eyes to Tamba to reply, "I've always wanted a home, a place to call my own. I can hunt fairly well, and I could probably be a good look-out due to my size," He paused before continuing, "I will do my best doing whatever I can for the pride."

Tamba ruminated over their suggestions for a short while, silent in thought but flicking his tail about. He had only been thinking of these very things a short while ago. But he couldn;t just let them join willy nilly. He had no assurances they'd even stay here, or follow the prides beliefs.
"Hrrm...we are in need of a babysitter, but its more than just a 'now and then' kind of job. Of course, when there are fewer cubs, there'll be less work for you. But you've got to be dedicated. Cubs are the most precious thing to this pride," he said gravely.
It didn't matter that his own cubs were self-sufficient now, everyone's cubs mattered to him. He inclined his head to Ravi.
"I've just instated a new guard, you'd be welcome company for him. I'd suggest you go meet with him first, get to know him. It would make things all the better if you do stay here," he said just as seriously. "His name is Nahoda'kota, you'll find him in the jungle dens."
"I'd like to see you both have a go at your potential jobs."

Of course it made sense to Sevati, what the king was saying. If she were in his place, she'd be wary of everyone just coming and asking to join. Well, she'd just have to prove herself that she was capable of the job. With a smile, "Cubs are. They have so much potential." She couldn't help to but feel the king's seriousness. It was a little startling, and made her feel slightly crestfallen. She just hoped now that she could prove herself to him. Because she loved it here. She's been living around here for such a long time after her father dropped her off that she'd be lost if she went elsewhere.
With a nod, Ravi took Tamba's words to heart. But, at the king's suggestion, he couldn't help but smile. "Oh yes, I know who Nahoda'kota is. We met him not too long ago near the shore. We spent some time together, had a small lunch and talked." He flicked his tail slightly before making a mental note to go out and see Kota again. If he was to help watch the pride, he had to make sure that he was good friends with Kota. Afterall, he'd have an important job to uphold. "I will go seek him out again and learn as much as I can." He spoke determined to prove himself.

"I believe Kota is expecting, so you might have some work sooner than you thought Sevati. Go see him and his mate and see if your services might be required. If not, seek out Nkechi or Manoari, they have an energetic litter, should keep you busy," he chuckled heartily.
"Ah! Excellent. Kota is...quite the character. Once you get past his accent," he smiled and laughed awkwardly.
It was always an embarrassing failing on Tamba's part that he couldn't understand Kota all of the time, but he wasn't perfect. Even his daughter Tamu had had trouble. Like father, like daughter, eh?
He stretched momentarily.
"So, you've met my Siya?"

At the news, Sevati couldn't help but be surprised! She had known that Kota had a mate, but wasn't aware that they were expecting. Ah! Perhaps things could turn to look in her favor afterall. "Thanks for the tidbit! I'll have to go see Kota and his mate after the cubs are born to see if they could use any assistance."
Though, at his question, she couldn't help but smile brightly, "Oh yes! I had met Siya not too long ago and we've been having a blast together. We've played in the waves and everything."
Ears pricked forward slightly as Ravi listened to the king. Expecting a family, he'd definitely have to congradulate Kota when he went to go and see the male. Though, at Tamba's words he couldn't but help to agree. "I'd have to agree! His accent definitely makes him one that I can't forget. It takes a little getting past before you can make out what he is saying." The black male's accent was something that had taken him by surprise because he's never met a lion like him before.

"Yes. Siya is very...special...," he paused for a moment. It was a relief to see his daughter developing now. "She's quite the free spirit, its hard to pin her down."
Tamba had been worried that Siya might not have grown properly, that she might have settled into the same way of life as his own brother. So reliant on their long-suffering mother. Had he known that Tipwa had also gone through a stage of mental growth to be almost a self-reliant adult now, he wouldn't have worried.
"Hehehe, yes. But he means well. I wonder if any of his cubs will talk he does. I've no idea how his mate speaks," he chuckled as he turned to Ravi.

Ears perked forward as Sevati listened to Tamba talk about his daughter. Sure, Siya was a bit on the cubbish side, but that didn't make her like the lioness any less. They had a blast and Siya was her friend. She smiled brightly to the king, "She has a wonderful personality and it shouldn't be too long before I see her again. She wanted to play some more, which I could only happily oblige to." It was then that she noticed how late it was getting. She looked to the king, "It's been such a pleasure finally meet you, Tamba and I would like to thank you for your time! I should hope that when we meet up again, that we can both prove to be useful to you and your pride." She nodded.
That was something to wonder about. Ravi could help but grin at the thought, "I guess we'll just have to wait and see then." With a glance to his mate, he smiled warmly at her before he turned his attention back to the king. "I'd like to thank you as well, it has definitely been a pleasure." He would have to go and seek out Kota now to learn as much as he could. With one last look to the king, he then turned to head off with Sevi to find a small dinner.

"And a pleasure meeting you both," he nodded politely at them, and as they strode off into the lands, he chose to stay a while longer on his little rocky perch, given the new things to mull over.
There was a strong breeze, and he wasn't sure why, but he just felt like change was on the wind. He looked over his shoulder at his lands, the source of the breeze, and wondered How long will we go on for?
