Gaudi awoke early that morning, and he snuck away from where his family was sleeping. To his knowledge, everyone was still resting, so he was silent as he crept away. Once he was able to see a clear view of the sky, he frowned at it's cloudy contrast to the land. The days had been very overcast lately, and Gaudi wondered when the sun would appear again.
His daily routine had been quiet, and the cub was thankful for this. He noticed many of the other cubs running around and playing all the time, but Gaudi preferred to remain solitary. For some reason, he felt no connection to some of the other cubs in the land, and that made him both lonely and bitter. He knew he always had his family next to him, but he hated being a bother..
With a light yawn, the cub then tumbled forward while scratching at the musky ground. Today looked as if it was going to be bland as every other day, and the cub was grunting and such.

Kenya was a light sleeper. The soft spoken cub slept close to his mother, his night mares waking him up during the night. His ears perked as he heard his brothers paws softly hit the ground. Kenya's plum colored eyes blinked as a silent yawn escaped his lips.
The white cub stood up and walked out of the den, following behind his brother. "Gaudi.." He said softly as he sat down and rubbed his eyes with his paws, "What are you doing up so early?" He blinked away the sleep from his eyes.

Gaudi was startled to hear his brother's voice, since his mind was clustered with usual thoughts. His attention shifted quickly, and he turned to his brother with bright and shocked eyes. "Oh um, good morning Kenya". Ah, the response was somewhat natural...
Well this was surprising. Gaudi would have to work on his creeping and moving skills, since it appeared that he woke his brother up. "I couldn't sleep... You should go back to sleep you know, I apologize for waking you." He looked as his brother with sympathetic eyes, wondering if Kenya was now mad at him. "Was I really that loud?" Now he was beginning to feel at his imperfection.

"Good morning." He smiled softly. He liked sleep, but only when he was having good dreams. Kenya blinked at his brother with a quizzical look. "I was having a bad dream." He said softly. He had trouble getting back to sleep after something like that.
Kenya laughed a little, "You were okay," he mentioned when his brother asked about his noise, "nobody moved when you left. I was half awake anyway." He smiled as his tail swayed slightly.

Gaudi let out a sigh of relief, since his brother's situation was not completely his fault. But something else was now in his mind, and he looked at his brother carefully before speaking out again. "Bad dream? What about?" He usually wasn't concerned about the well being of others, but when it came to his family, he was always interested.
"I haven't had a dream in a very long time, so I am interested to hear why your mind was plaguing you so badly." Bad dream.. did Gaudi ever have one of those? Not that he could recall.. "Does that mean you will have a good dream tonight? I think that would be fair.." Gaudi grinned for a moment, since he was feeling some humor in the situation.

Kenya averted his brother's looks. "I..I don't wanna talk about it." He stuttered. He knew he needed to talk to someone, but he was afraid that his brother wouldn't be his friend any more if he told him.
He sighed he had to get it off of his chest some time. "Everyone left me here to go to the Pridelands." His ears falling back against his head. His world revolved around his family. He couldn't imagine what would happen if they did leave.

Gaudi let himself sit comfortably on the ground, and his eyes flickered as he listened to his brother speak. Leave him? That was surprising... and pretty scary when he thought about it. "You can be open with me, I am always here to listen." Gaudi much rather enjoyed listening then talking himself, since he never had that much to say.
"Well I don't think THAT would ever happen," he then said, in an honest voice. "Was there anything else scary in your dream?" For some reason, it wasn't phasing Gaudi as much as it was bothering his brother, and he wondered what could trigger these kinds of thoughts. "We are all here now, so why would we leave?".

His plum colored eyes looked back to his brother, a smile acme on his maw as he heard his brothers reassuring words. He was right, they were together, and there was nothing that could break them apart.
"Hey Gaudi," He walked up to his brother and rubbed his head against his brothers in a hug, "Thanks." He felt comfortable around his brother.
"How come your up? Couldn't sleep either?" He asked as he sat down across from his brother, his tail wagging lightly.

Gaudi was surprised at his brother's affection, though he was happy that he felt better in the end. With a smile, he snugged his brother back, before listening intently on his next question.
"I usually wake up early." he then answered, while staring up into the sky. "I don't enjoy sleeping that much, I feel like I am wasting time for some reason. My body likes to get up, and get moving, so I usually just listen." With a sigh, he rolled his eyes back downward before glancing kindly at his brother. "I really don't know how everyone can sleep so much, I find it utterly boring."
Gaudi was sort of strange like that, but the cub never thought about it that way.

Kenya smiled. "I love sleep." he said as he bounded around his brother. "Except when I have nightmares." He stopped bounding, but quickly smiled again. "It lets me feel rested, and ready for the next day." Kenya smiled and looked back to their den, "Especially when I get to sleep next to mother."

Gaudi drifted his eyes back to where everyone was sleeping, and grunted slightly. "Mother must be tired, she usually wakes up early enough." Gaudi had woken up before, and his mother would find him shortly after. It was nice, since she was usually around to keep him company while everyone else snoozed. But this morning, he was lucky to have his brother around instead!
"Well, I suppose we should go do something.." he then said, while bringing his eyes back to his brother. "I still suck at hunting, so I don't know if I can get us any food. Is there anything else you need? I can at least try." Gaudi felt sort of sorry for his brother and his nightmare, and he decided he wanted to help him if he could in any way. It was best to get someone's mind off the subject.

Kenya looked from his brother back to the den, "Yeah, I'm normally trying to get up now." his ears twitched lightly. "I get cold when mother leaves."
The white cub's plum colored eyes looked back to his brother, "We could try to catch some lizards or snakes." He said at the thought of hunting. He needed to learn how, and getting a head start would be perfect. Besides, it was rare for him to do something with Gaudi alone. "Then we can bring them back to mother and show her how well we can hunt!" He wagged his tail in excitement.

"I suppose we could do that." said Gaudi, and he had a rational look of agreement on his face. "Let's just head south like we normally do, and hopefully it is early enough to find lizards squirming around. The sun is just rising, so they may be unsuspecting of us." The thought was a smart one, and he was glad his brother decided to share it with him. He knew that his mother would definitely be proud.
The brown cub, without waiting, strode into a fast pace job, and assumed his brother was following him. Gaudi was usually very quiet in his words, and his actions tended to speak louder most of the time.

Kenya quickly broke into a run to follow his brother. He had to trot to keep up with his brothers fast pace. "I hope we can get something big for mom." He said with a smile as the sun came through the trees and dotted his fur. He had to admit he loved being with his siblings. And mornings like these were the best.

He felt comforted in knowing that his brother was now right behind him, and he moved his eyes back and forth with a frustration, since the land seemed quiet and dull. "If only we had some luck on our side." he then said, while rolling his eyes slowly. Gaudi wasn't really sure what that term even meant, but he overhead his parents talking about it as if it where very helpful. "I guess we can just keep moving, though maybe silently. If we are being loud, the snakes and lizards will all run away."
