Lime green eyes gazed forward at the ocean, the waves rolling in and out along the shore in which she was walking on. Sevati couldn't help but smile at it's beauty, surely nothing could match the ocean's beauty! Her tail flicked lightly as she was just wandering slightly. It had been a couple of days or so since she had first met the king and she was a bit dishearten when he didn't accept Ravi and her. But no matter, she would just have to make sure that the next time they ran into the king, he'd be pleased with their progress!

The king had told her that they were in need of a cubsitter, and that if she could prove herself for the position, then it would be her's. He had also told her about the couples who had cubs in the pride. She just hoped that they wouldn't think her weird by coming by and asking to watch any of their cubs as a test run. Well, she'd first go to the lions she knew and that was Kota and his mate.

Perhaps luckily enough, Sevati was about to meet one of said cubs. Out on the sand playing at some imaginary game the little black, red and white cub build up a little heap of sand before pouncing at it 'ferociously' splattering the sand back in to the beach from whence it came.

He lifted his dark head as someone approached and he gave a grin. "Ahoy thar wench! ye be a trespassin on me beach! tha's be a reasonin' enuf fer walkin tha plank arg!" The little golden eyed cub grinned, his voice low and cute but filled with a twang that no doubt would be his accent forever more.

At the voice, Sevati stopped where she was and gazed at the cub not too far away from where she was. Oh, she could definitely tell by the accent just who's cub this was afterall! Her lime green eyes watched him curiously before she saw that he was playing in the sand. A smile crept on her face as she realized this. Well then, she could take this time to see what he's up to and perhaps play with him.

She walked a couple more feet towards the cub and then stopped. Going along with the cub, she pretended to have a shocked look on her face. "Is it now? And who's beach should I be trespassing on? I did not see a name anywhere."

The cub looked up at the big female curiously. Even for a very young cub he was large, no wonder really his parents were both on the huge side of things. Still he was young and easily baffled. The words he spoke, simply phrases he had learned from his father while playing 'Pirates' with him. He frowned a little clearly trying to once again regain the situation at hand.

"Lassy me dad be a sayin this be our bit 'o' beach, mine an' mams an' my bruvah's an noones can be a comin' close less 'e ses so cause my dad 'e guards ova ev'ry one, 'e does, tha's wha' 'e be a doin'." he gave an affirmative nod after this little ramble, watching the pale lioness with an eye to making her walk the plank for strolling up the beach and in to 'his' battle zone.

"Don' ye be a knowin' ye be in shark n'festered waters? If ye walks tha plank ye'll be eated. Tha's wha dad sez!"

With a flick of her tail, Sevati tilted her head slightly as she listened to what the little cub was saying. With a playful grin, "Ah, so your Dad says." Her lime green eyes twinkled brightly as she sat down in the sand, looking at the little cub. He was certainly taking after his father in size. She knew that Kota was big, if not a tad bigger than Ravi, but his mate she has yet to meet.

"I have met your dad not too long before you where born," She pawed at the sand softly, letting it slide through her paws, "My name's Sevati. My mate is learning to be a guard, to be just as good as your dad!"

The little cub looked blindly at the pale lioness. "Ow da you know my dad? I know 'e aint ard ta miss, but I aint never seen ye afore lassy." He gave a little grumble, as if to say that he knew everything about his father and what he did. Of course this was just an illusion, 'Kota spoke much of pirates and his job in the 'crows nest' but little of the folks he met. Except for the king of course, he was the ultimate exception. His father spoke highly of Tamba.

"Sevuratee." he sttempted his golden eyes looking very thoughtful. "I dun fink 'e coul' be better an my dad, e's tha bestest biggerest guard in tha worl' thas wha' me mam ses!" He stuck his chest out then his chin jutting out proudly.

((I was told to post. 83; *Shrug*))

"An yo' woul' be righ'."

The deep voice came from the other side of a series of large dunes placed nearby on the beach. The grass that cropped up from the tops of the dunes were the reason why the female on the other side had remained unseen.

She'd heard Sevati approach and had nearly stood when she'd first heard her voice call out, however it appeared that the white female knew of her mate and therefore couldn't have been all that bad. Even if she were bad, the odds of her being able to stand up against the full grown ex-firekin were very slim.

Slowly so as not to startle either of them any longer, Khepri rose to her white paws and glanced at Sevati through tarnished golden eyes. There was no maliciousness in her gaze or body language, simply wariness for how close the other was to one of her sons.

"S'a pleasha to meet yo' Sevati." Khepri said, bowing her large red head calmly to the other lioness. "Wha' brings yo' so far ou'side th' pride?"

((Oh yes! We wanted to add in Kherpi in the rp. <3))

Another voice spoke as Sevati turned around in surprise to see the red lioness make her way over. Being part firekin herself, it was easy for her to see the tell-tell signs of the firekin. Lime green eyes glanced at the cub and then back to the female as she finally understood that this was the mother and Kota's mate. She dipped her head slightly in respect to the red lioness. "It's a pleasure to finally meet you. Kota had spoken dearly about you when we had first met many moons ago."

As she was sitting down in the sand, she curled her tail around her body. With a small smile, "I had spoken to the king about making my stay here within the pride with my mate, but before he could accept us he gave us each a task in which we needed to preform. He told me that the pride was in need of a cubsitter and while right now I my job might not be too busy at the moment with the size of the pride but that in the future I would definitely have my paws full. He had also mentioned that Kota was expecting cubs, so he told me where I could find Kota and that I should go and talk with him," She paused before continuing, "I hadn't expected to run into one of his sons nor his mate. I am very happy to have met you, though! But since you seem to have found me, that definitely makes this a whole lot easier. I had wanted to talk to Kota about the matter, to see what I could do." She just hope she wouldn't offend them any by coming over here with her request, but with the king's request, she wanted to prove herself.

"I didn't know if Kota's cubs were born yet, but I had wanted to ask and see if I could help out in any way. As the king told me, my job would be to help assist the mothers in any way I could, that it was not to take their job away from caring for their cubs but rather, to help keep an extra set of eyes on the cubs." She paused before letting out a soft, nervous laugh, she was a bit nervous about all of this, but Kota was a friend and she would love to get to know his family better.

Vuai looked between his mother and the new pale female sitting in the sand, his butt placed on the pale moving surface. he looked sort of comical his back paws off the ground slightly so he acctually sat on his bottom.

"I aint a cubby arg! I dun need ta be sitted on!" This of course was the only phrase he knew or understood. "She'd be a squishin' me yar!"

The larger female narrowed her eyes a little. It hadn't been long since she'd given birth to both of her sons, the idea of another female needing to watch them scathed her a bit. Of course the idea wasn't really a bad one, but the fact that she'd only had them recently was the idea that made her hemm and haww for a moment on the concept of it.

"Well... i's a pleas'a ta mee' yo'... bu' yo're sadly mistaken. Kota's a memba of the pride, bu' Ah'm no' a memba." Khepri said slowly, watching the white female suuddenly because it seemed that there was something about her. Something overwhelmingly familiar, but the female had the thick fur of a Mistweaver, so she wasn't sure where it came from. Maybe she'd met her when she'd passed through the mistweaver lands?

Why would a female want to watch the cubs of another that wasn't part of her pride? That was what caught her at a hole. Was it because the king wanted Kota's prodgeny to be safe so that the future large cubs that would most likely end up being guardians wouldn't die?

"Why would yo' wan' ta come all th' way ou' 'ere anyway? This is a distance from the pride isn'' it?" Khepri wanted to know before her eyes swept over to Vuai with a smile, "Ya do so need ta be sitted upon. If ya weren' ya'd be runnin wild on yer mum."

The white lioness surely wasn't expecting such an answer from the red lioness. Sevati didn't think twice about questioning what the king had told her. But this lioness tilted her head in surprise. "Oh?" She was trying to think of what to do next. This definitely put her at a loss then. If she was not apart of the pride, then how could she prove that she's useful to the pride.

But with a friendly smile, "That is quite a dilmena then. I'm surprised that the king then thinks of you and your cubs as members if you are not of the pride itself. It is nice to live a little distance from all the main activity, especially with little cubs," Ears perked forward, "Do you plan on staying here then or moving on once your cubs are able to travel? Well, regardless, I would love it if we could be friends! I don't know too many others here and it'd be nice to see a friendly face." Lime green eyes travelled to Vuai as she watched the mother-son exchange. Hopefully someday, she'd have a litter to play with.

Vuai pouted and looked up at his very large mother. "Nu uh! I dun need ta be sitted on!" With that said he stood up and slid down the sand away from the two lionesses his eyes shimmering playfully. "Ye will be havin' ta catch me firs!" He pulled a tongue and giggled racing off with his little red tufted tail in the air.

((Sorry. *Sheepish laugh*))

It took a while to come, but finally a gentle smile spread over Khepri's white muzzle and she inclined her head to the other. Not many would offer out friendship to one of her color and stature when they themselves were slightly smaller and a much more agreeable color to the eye. After years of being discriminated against for her bloody color Khepri found it nice to speak to one who didn't think that way.

"My mate always wanted ta be near th' ocean." Khepri explained, "Ah got no plans on movin' 'specially no' now tha' Ah foun' 'im again. Yo' can come ovah as much as yo' wan'."

Her smile was kinder suddenly and she reached down to lick Vuai's ears with her rough tongue. He was only licked once before he ran off with his tail in the air like a little deer.

"Ah've nevah really 'ad a frien' ou'side o' 'Kota. If yo' can deal with me bein' a little shakey at it... Ah'd willin'ly be yo're frien'."

Her dark tail swished over the sand beneath her and she chuckled, a deep rumbling that ran through her chest.

The white lioness's smile grew at Khepri's words. They made Sevati's day, that was for sure. Her ears pricked forward eagerly as she replied, "I'm glad to hear that. I shall hope to see more of you and your family more often then!" It definitely warmed her to hear that Khepri wanted to be her friend, which is what she's always wanted was to have plenty of friends. With a nod, she was the last lioness to shrug off a friend because of something or another. She had been through plenty of rough times in her cubhood in her old pride.

"I am not one to judge another, especially what I went through when I was a cub. So you have nothing to worry about, Khepri!" She gave the lioness a smile before she looked up at the sky, noting the sun had moved positions and it was probably time she headed back to her mate. As she stood up, she dipped her head slightly to the lioness, "It was a pleasure meeting both of you, but I think I should head back before my mate wonders where I have gone off to. You're more than welcome to visit my den that I share with my mate, he'd be happy to meet others as well." She bade them a farewell before turning to head back.
