Not yet...

Not yet. Noooot quite yet.

It was a mental mantra, repeated over and over in the lioness' mind as she crouched lower into the ground, allowing the dried grass to conceal her form. The rocks to her sides were doing a good job at keeping her hidden too, really; there was no way the buck would know what hit him if she kept low and waited. Not yet... she thought to herself, green eyes narrowing, ears flopping back, claws sheathing and unsheathing from the sheer tension of the moment.

Tsi'hilu was used to hunting; in fact, she was quite certain it was the one activity she excelled at. However, never once would she be able to rid the adrenaline rush that hit her time and time again right before the given moment. As she tensed and sprung out of her hiding place, the petite Elawadiyi huntress spread her arms and opened her maw into a roar, aiming for the buck's neck.

Lately, Ushaufu had found himself forced out further and further away from his home due to his... seemingly never ending quest for food. Tell truth, he had little doubt the herds would return to the Mistweaver territory, however, till that day were to come, he didn't want to take any chances. The further away he hunted, the better. It paid to have wings in such a situation, needless to say; they permitted him to travel long distances rather swiftly. Not only that, but his bulk allowed him to carry large pieces of meat to and fro.

The way he swooped from the sky and down onto prey beast was less than expected by most, and also made it easier for him to surprise them; everything added up, and for that the god was rather thankful. It wouldn't be forever, he had to remind himself as he peered down upon the landscape below as he flew, soon enough.... soon enough, his home would return back to normal and they'd be able to hunt like that pride had once done long ago, no doubt.

For now though, this lifestyle wasn't too bad. He could cope, and so could Kizuka. With that last thought, the god opened his maw into a snarl and swooped down, claws extended, aiming for a random buck he'd spotted. However, rather than hitting the prey beast itself, he found himself tackling some sort of... well, unexpected white ball of fur. She'd come out of nowhere, aiming for the same buck, and they'd both somehow managed to collide, one against the other as the startled buck raised it's head, stared and then swiftly ran off, never waiting to see what happened next.

Both lions, mortal and God, rolled on the ground till a rock stopped their clumsy, awkward movement. Hissing, Ushaufu reached for his head, "Ow... God DAMNIT!"

She never made it to the buck's back however. Something large and extremely heavy to boot, hit Tsi'hilu right smack on her backside before she was ever able to reach her target; the force of the impact and gravity itself sent both her and her attacker to the ground, rolling in a mass of green white and red and black that soon enough found a stop against the smooth surface of a random rock.

The... thing, whatever it was that had 'attacked' her, groaned, and the smaller female echoed the sentiment before she hissed and pulled away. Granted she was naive, and granted she was usualy extremely calm and sweet-hearted, however, no female that valued herself (no feline for that matter) would have allowed such a situation to happen without feeling at least mildly offended. And thus, offended she felt; offering another hiss, both from slightly annoyance and huge awkwardness, she extracted herself from the mass of green ath sorrounded her. It was amusing to note how... he'd twisted himself somehow during the fall so that he'd somewhat shielded her fall; she wasn't entirely sure if this had been done on purpose or not. Regardless, she frowned at him as soon as she turned her head.

The frown didn't last long however; he features melted into confusion rather swiftly as she took in his figure. The first thing that came to mind was the word BIG. The second thought was WINGS followed rather swiftly by WHAT THE HELL? Vocabulary curtesy of Wally herself.

It hurt. In fact, it'd hurt like a bloody b***h, he decided as he groaned again, a hissing breath passing through gritted teeth as he felt the smaller frame extract herself from the tangle of body, wings and limbs they'd created upon their fall. He was, however, thankful for his fast reflexes; it'd allowed him to twist his body during the fall just fast enough to grab the smaller frame and keep it from harm's end. Granted, it'd meant he'd smashed himself against a rock, but Ushaufu knew he could take it; he'd heal soon enough. Sooner than a mortal at any rate, which was good enough for him.

Lifting his head, he met the girl's green gaze, wide, full of curiosity and confusion rather than fear, and for a long moment, he just stared at her, "Malika?" another pause went by, during which the male pulled himself to his feet, frowing somewhat. No, that wasn't Malika... those tattos... the curves of her frame. No, this create held a clear resemblence to his shildhood friend, but it wasn't her. Another hiss escaped his maw as he pulled himself to his feet, only to realise that s**t his wings were still visible.

A wince followed by a grimace before he focused his gaze on her, "Never seen a God, have you, girl?"

God? Who was a God? Was he a God?

Tsi'hilu blinked slowly, once, twice, shaking her head for effect, then blinking again, almost as if hoping the movement would clear her vision; make what she was seeking... make more sense than it did. The first word that passed through the thing's maw made her tilt her head, "No," she answered simply, her brow furrowing. There hadn't been a real need for her to answer however; she'd seen the way the recognition that had flashed through his eyes suddenly had melted away, "Tsi'hilu Waya," she said, her brows still knitted together, "And you may be....?" she asked mildly.

God didn't make much sense.

There was nothing he could do to keep himself from squirming; he was used to holding the upperhand of any and all situations, and for some odd reason he suddenly felt bare, nakked in front of her. Something about her petite frame made him want to tell her the truth, or was it the sheer blunt honesty in her eyes? Regardless of what it was, the male frowned, "Ushaufu," he grunted mildly, his own eyes narrowing as he lifted his head, "Deception himself - What's such a small.... thing doing out on her lonesome anyhow? You remind me of someone. Two someones," that small cub he'd saved long agoe too... she held a resemblance.

Oh the irony of the situation; if only he'd known the small Ela was in fact, mated to the step father of that same little cub he'd chansed, long, long ago.

"Well," the small female frowned, still looking him up and down, her eyes straying every so often towards his wings; how could he fly with those.... bones sticking out in odd angles and places? They looked useless, and yet she was sure he'd dropped right out of the sky and tackled her to the ground. She was SURE of it, "I was hunting, till you tackled me down," it wasn't an acusation, but rather, a fact. She couldn't help it; ever since young, Tsi'hilu had found herself to be extremely blunt towards other. She'd never tiptoed around fact, and beating around a bush was simply imposible for her.

Idly, she figured it had to do with the slight problems she'd had as a cub. No one's fault, really, it was just the way she was, "I usualy hunt with my mate, but he's tired today; probably from last night. I don't blame him," she left the idea hanging in the air, and offered no more. Amusing how she could say such a thing with a naive... blank expression on her face.

He stared at her.

For the longest of moments, the great God of Deception was merely able to stare owlishly at her, his maw hanging open. The implications of what she'd just said so bluntly were huge, and mirrowed thoughts he kept to himself about his mate. What was it with this girl? Coughing lightly into a fisted paw, Ushaufu fished his mind out of whatever proverbial gutter it'd dived into, whom said she even meant the words that way anyhow? He was male however, can could not help the thoughts that invaded him. It was only natural after all; boys will be boys. No matter if they were immortal or not. He still had a working mind, a beating heart and a-

Nevermind. Mind out of the gutter. Now.

Coughing again, he turned his gaze back on her smaller frame, "Yes well, I apologise. I never saw you; just had my mind on the hunting. Need to take it off for my own," this said, he lifted his paw and groomed himself; it was an activity he'd taken a liking to, no doubt rubbed off from his mate whom would groom him in turn. It was oddly comforting.

"Gods have mates?" it was asked so innocently and so softly there couldn't have been an ounce of malice in her heart. In fact, the mere words proved the way her mind worked, and the slight tilt of her head only seemed to emphasise the innocence about her. Her people had always believed in the Spirits and Gods, however... she'd never thought them to be quite as literal as this; it was a shocking discovery to say the least!

Amusing to note was the fact she was actualy handling said discvery rather well; focussing childish curiosity on said fact rather than feeling sacred. He was large, and rather much resembled a monster, however, she did not feel scared. In her mind, if he was Deception, perhaps his looks were meant to decieve and not show the true nature of his heart. It made an odd sort of sense in her mind. After all, had he not twisted to shield her fall? Actions spoke out louder than words, "I know no Malika by the way... sorry."

A huff was uttered at her question, brow furrowing; well of course Gods had mates! Why did everyone question and wonder about that one? Not a day went by where others didn't give Kizuka and him an odd glance or two. Those that knew about his nature and those that didn't; granted, his form DID in fact look slightly out of place when... well, placed along Kizuka's. Even with Inmortalitly placed aside they looked out of place. Her mild Mistweaver form against his looming... strange one.

Still, that didn't mean he couldn't take her up as a mate, as he'd proved to the damned world, "Of course Gods can take mates, didn't you? Everyone has that right, just like you have the right to believe, and make mistakes," this said, he shook himself off, standing on all four; the meeting had been awkward and tell truth, he still didn't feel like he was on top of the whole situation and thus wanted out as soon as posible. He spread his wings then, looking over his shoulder at her, "I know; she just looks like you. Made the wrong connection. She wouldn't be in the land anyhow... last I saw her, she was lost."

She watched as the large creature spread his wings, the strange sound the bones made seemingly signaling they would never in hell be able to lift his frame from the floor. She'd be proved wrong soon enough, she knew that much. She was certain of it, in fact, "Ah," was her simple answer to his explanation; both of his explanations, really. Nodding her head, the Elawadiyi watched as he got eady to leave; but still could not help herself from adding, "You don't seem lost," it was odd and she had no idea where it'd come from, but she offered him a smile, "Not any more."
PostPosted: Wed Dec 19, 2007 1:46 am

"No," he answered her as he beat his wings a few times, lifting his frame off the floor, his gaze fixed on her, "Not anymore," even as he lifted himself a few meters into the air, he stared at her, the hints of smirk curving his maw, making his eyes dance with mirth, "Neither do you," for some reason it seemed like the thing to say at that precised moment, and with those last few words, he plunged into the sky, vanishing from view.

He needed to find food still after all; his mate was waiting. She needed food, and he would be damned if he didn't provide the best of it. He'd keep to hunting a bit nearer to the Mistweavers from now on though, and he'd bloody well make sure he wouldn't tackle another girl too. That had been awkward.

A smile appeared on her own maw as he spoke, "No," she echoed his own words, her head tilting up to follow him as he lifted his frame off the ground and up into the air, "Not anymore," she agreed, allowing herself to sit down. Tsi'hilu followed his form till it vanished through the clouds, dissapearing, almost as if it'd never been there to begin with, and though others might've questioned the veracity of the situation... shrugging it off perhaps as a daydream, the small Elawadiyi knew it to have been true.

She had the mild ache in her body as proof, not to mention the small scratches of the tumble and rolling on the ground. This in mind, she lifted herself up from the ground elegantly, like only a feline would have, and marched off in an oposite direction; it'd proved to be a rather interesting day to say the least, and she still needed to hunt. Her instincts demanded it.
