Crazy factoid: Mataka was gifted to me in the very first SoA thread by Dustfeather, or Mila Farrell, she was the first ever wild dog.<3
Mataka: She lived with her two brothers, but was abandoned by a maddened father one day. Her two brothers have never been heard of again. She fell in love with a male wild dog called Dhati and started a pack and raised a family with him, but the loyalty and positions within the pack were questioned, and the pack itself fell apart. She has 6 children.
However, despite everything, she has turned out quite confident. This wild dog has always been a bit of a social butterfly. She can't stand still for too long and is incredibly playful. She has a large family and loves them dearly, although she's more like one of the children herself. Forever an optimist, she tries her best to see the good in everything. She has been roaming the roguelands, mateless and with only one of her children (M'tanizi), and although she;d like a little something more in life, she's quite happy with where she's been and where she is now. |

Cert needs updating!
Maawio: Maawio was born into the Pridelands to an aristocratic mother called Wingu, who set high hopes for her daughter, an only child, she was constantly nervous and stuttering and overall, scared of her mother. In a bid to flee and gain freedom in a terribly out of character move, she left the Pridelands with a Rogue called Amari. She then felt the tug of guilt and returned back home to the Pridelands, just after the plague. Guilty, she greived over her mother for awhile, before meeting again with Amari. The two steadily fell in love, and despite a few hiccups in their relationship, lived happily together. Maawio gave birth to their son, and then to four sons and one daughter. She has recently been mistaken for dead, when she went hunting for her eldest son and did not return for awhile. Amari, her mate, has left the Pridelands.
She has always been anxious, and though she may have gained confidence and lost her stutter thanks to Amari, she still worries too much. A kind and sweet lioness, she is not able to lie, nor would she want to. She loves those who are close to her, and his very family orientated. Sensitive, she tends to become upset easily and is prone to attacks of anxiety, though they happen rarely. Maawio is most often calm and gentle. Amaris flirtacious nature hurt her when she was young, but it has also strengthened her, she trusts him greatly, and would trust her family with her life. She does not hunt too much, and used to practice alot as a youth, to take her mind off her mothes expectations, and therefore is quite good at hunting, though she sometimes feels bad and worries for killing, she just thinks to the fact that she has to hunt, and the Prideland "Circle of life", as she is a Pridelander through and through.

CERT NEEDS UPDATING.
Mahiri: Mahiri was raised just with his mother, but left at a young age for safety. The pair travelled together for awhile, until he lost his mother one day, being intelligent as a cub he doubted she would have survived, given the area they were in and after days of looking, simply gave up. He found the pridelands in his late juvenile stage and rarely looked back ever since. He found a lioness called Bakhti who he loved, and produced 14 children! Bakhti was later killed by a vicious lioness, but he continued to bring up the eight cubs she left behind.
He has always been viewed as intelligent, though he is nowhere near the epitomy of a "wise man". Warming and large in stature, he holds his family close to his heart. He is protective of them and usually a rather happy lion. He is also sometimes quite a joker and typically laid back. He is growing older now and has come to realise that no matter what has happened, he needs to cling onto the wonderful things he has left. He is knowlegable, and spends time educating his children, or simply lying back and enjoying his family and the beautiful Pridelands.

Mbari: The eldest child of Maawio and Amari and once an only child, has lived in the Pridelands for his entire life. He missed out on his father when he was growing up, but remained incredibly close to his mother. He left the Pridelands for a while to visit a friend, without telling his mother, as he could not find her at the time. She panicked and thought that Mbari could not cope on his own, as he was always so dependant. He returned to the Pridelands to find his mother, but also to find that his family thought she was dead, and that his father had left.
Somewhat like his mothers worrying, he has an incredibly paranoid nature, and is especially paranoid when meeting new people. Around his family, however, he is completely comfortable. He is protective of his only sister, Kiasi, and finds he can trust females better than males, because of his history with his father. He finds the Pridelands to be a perfect home, and he is incredibly jumpy when travelling elsewhere. He worries about his appearence, the way he comes across to others, others opinions of himself, the way he treats others, losing his family. It is in this way that he is typically similar to his mother, but concentrating more on paranoia than anxiety.

 Mtanizi has calmed down alot since his juve days. He has a large family, and lived in the Mpinzani pack for awhile, however his sister, tried to overrule and pretty much ruined the pack for him, turning it into a mess. After putting all his faith in his family, he now only knows his mother, who he travelled with for awhile after the collapse of the pack. He met his brother recently, when wandering as a rogue, and may be compelled to investigate into the pack, which has sadly been disbanded, but him and his mother may aid the reformation.
He is a mainly skeptical wild dog, he has a trust issue with most people, and will only trust his mother. Skeptical of especially females he still has an eye for the ladies, but wouldn't really look for anything long lasting because he'd doubt their honesty. A usually honest dog himself, he is susceptible to feeling guilty about leaving his brother to tend to the tatters of the pack. He has a tendancy to be sarcastic at times and a little blunt when he's in a bad mood but is overall quite friendly.

Born into a loving family, she had no reason to turn so malicious, yet her horrible behaviour was underlined with almost invisible but deadly strong jealously, known not even to herself. She once scarred her sisters back, in a mad rage which was completely unprovoked. Fighting as a juvenile, she met a lion called Hakan, and took him as her enemy, however, he impregnated her as an adolescent, and she soon fell into a bitter pit of selfdoubt. Giving birth to four cubs, she travels with only one. Determined to make him into a worthy fighter, she has been "plagued" by compassion. She cares about someone other than herself for once.
Jealous of her perfect family and her perfect siblings, her emotions are laced with a selfdoubt that's never quite been shown. She uses her insecurity against others. A typically sly character, she seems to be cruel and heartless, happy with her terrible behaviour, content with knowing what she has done to others. She finds comfort in violence, as it is a way to express her anger. She has high hopes for her son, but he does not appear to be interested in violence. He is the only one she cares about, but she will rarely show it. She will often curse him, or pick on him for being weak. A strong character, Mbaya is happy in being alone. She has a strong dislike of the Pridelands, as it is "stupid" and "perfect" though during her time of weakness, during her time of pregnancy, when she was beaten, she returned there as it was the only place where she could avoid confrontation, unusual for her, but she was badly beaten, physically and emotionally. Mbaya judges others and will not need a reason to be nasty to a complete stranger and will try to manipulate anyone to get her own way. OLD RPs

Matuko lived a quiet life, mostly in the jungle, and fell in love with a fellow Cheetah. She still lives in the jungle and wanders, having seen her children depart, but she feels no sadness as she believes that is what was meant to happen.
She is graceful and gentle, and is a believer in fate and the stars, and that things are mapped out before they happen. She can come off as shy at first, but is a little more bold than she used to be, once you get to know her. Religious in her ways, she loves life and simply goes with the flow, believing that everything happens for a reason. |

Safihi: A leopardess born to a warm family, she left her home in early adolescence to see more of the world, as is typical for children of such animals. She has been travelling since then, stopping off in the jungle for quite some time, and socializing as she goes about her simple life.
Safihi rarely sees the serious side to anything, unless it involves death. She is loyal to those she respects. A trickster at heart she enjoys teasing and taunting people, but isn't neccesarily mean at heart, she just doesn't know when to stop, or when is the right time. She offends people easily by her lack of sensitivity. Her funloving nature is therefore dangerous, and she ends up hurting those around her. Eventually, when she finally realises the hurt she has caused, she will apologise. Being cluless about her tricks and taunts sometimes being so hurtful, apologies are often rare, or provoked by floods of tears on the others behalf. Safihi often wonders why she loses friends, and sometimes longs for people to understand her joking nature, and longs for those that are similar to her. It's just her idea of fun.
