Like the thread title says, this is both a
literate and a
semi-literate steampunk/fantasy game set in an American Old West/Disney's
Treasure Planet type era. You can be humans, elves, whatever you want, but be realistic, preferably nothing crazy like trolls and such.
Magic is cool, and all medieval weapons are cool (swords, bows, etc.), and some firearms are ok, such as old-school six-shooters and rifles, but nothing you wouldn't see in the Old West. If you want to use an item that is exceptionally different or powerful, PM me with a request and exact details of the item, explaining what it can and can't do (and don't say something like "it does everything and nothing can hurt it" or I will track you down and beat you with oranges. Metaphorically speaking). As a rule of thumb, if you can't buy it at the corner store or local trading post, then you need to check with me first.
Keep in mind, this is a
steampunk game. You can use cool technologcal gizmoes, but keep that in mind. When I say steampunk, that means it's all mechanical and noisy, with gears and steam and coal, etc. Want a jetpack? Go somewhere else. Want a set of iron wings that are powered by burning sulfur? Love it. Want a cyborg arm that is powered by your brain waves? Get lost. If you want a steel arm that runs on a miniature steam engine that's attached to a knapsack-like apparatus, then I'm all to happy too let you in.
So get creative with your characters, people! PM me your full character, and I'll post the accepted profiles. If your character needs a little tweaking, I'll let you know, and I'll repost it once it's fixed. DO NOT POST THE CHARACTERS ON THIS THREAD OR YOU WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO JOIN THE GAME. PM them to me!
