The Depths
I go,
I go to the depths,
I go to the depths of my mind,
And I scream,
I scream in the depths of my mind,
Do you know what I see,
What I see when I close my eyes,
I see buildings big and tall and black,
With all of their lights on,
But they stand empty,
Silent,
And dark,
With all of their lights on,
I stand on an endless road,
With buildings lining both sides,
Tall dark buildings,
Standing with all of their lights on,
But the light stays with the buildings,
My path is oh so dark,
And though the road I stand on,
Is like any other road,
I’ll never reach those tall black buildings,
That stand with all of their lights on.
I go,
I go to the depths,
I go to the depths of my mind,
And I scream,
I scream long and hard,
But I make no sound,
In the depths,
Of my mind.
