I'm serious though. I don't want to become one, I was just wondering about how prevalent they are in the Gothic culture. If you don't think they exist, why not? Asking about if there are Gothic pimps is no more spam than asking if there are gay Goths. Pimps aren't strictly a gangsta culture thing only. We like to imagine them being as such, but I don't see why they have to be strictly gangstas. It's usually for drugs and sex, and drugs are one of the more common things the main populous thinks when they think Goth [as well as a number of other negative things]. It may sound a bit strange, but then again, describing what a Goth looks like to an average person is rather strange, too, considering how many "types" there are.

I'd say yes, but I hate how pimps are being romanticised these days. Its like how pirates get redrawn as the goodguys for kids today, we all know they were huge assholes.

Yea, I really don't know how the hell society managed to screw THAT up. Chicks complain about being the victim of sexual assault all the time now, and people are all for helping them, but at the same time we're glorifying pimps? How the ******** does that work? U_U;

Well... depends.

If you mean someone of the actual pimp profession (a leader of a prostitution ring) being a goth, I've never heard of such a thing. It's not impossible, it's just that the pimp profession is small. The likelihood of finding a pimp involved in the goth culture is almost non-existant.

If you mean someone of the goth culture who identifies with the pimp archetype, certainly. In fact, a large number of goth males exhibit traits similar to the pimp archetype. The flamboyance of clothes, open opulence (whether it be real or not), the casual swagger, the sexual subtext... it's not hard to draw some parallels. Particularly in that both many pimps and many male goths draw from the visual and behavioral context of a classic gentleman.

If there was one, I think the notoriety would spread too quickly. With there likely being few-to-no pimps who happen to be goth, the police likely wouldn't have to look too hard to find the goth pimp, if they were tipped.

It's possible, but it would not be advantageous for the pimp to stand out.
... Not that I support prostitution rings.

I'd say it's possible, since nothing's really impossible, but like it's been said, if they really are that rare, then once one popped up, they'd get noticed rather quickly. Although, that's going by the gangsta version of the pimp, they're pretty obvious. I don't think if a goth were to decide to become a pimp that they'd purposely make themselves out to look as such, that'd be very obvious to anyone. Sticking out like a sore thumb would be a very bad thing for a potential goth pimp. I'd say they'd be more likely to be very undercover and get things done by being as charismatic as possible. Pimps and gothic men tend to gravitate towards the whole gentleman thing, so it would make perfect sense for one to be very smooth with the ladies and manage to stay underground. I really don't know why I thought of this, especially since it first came to my mind when I was in the shower U_U;

IMO, Goth applies itself 'artistically' to people in life.
I don't believe that one day you can wake-up and say "I am going to be a goth". I just don't think it works like that, yeah, they can dress and act gothic.

But you can normally tell those people from the 'actual' goth people.
