I've been with a person for a year and 4 months and not have it work out. I've been with a person for two years and not have it work out.
But, after experiencing what I feel in my relationship right now, I can relate to how you feel.
I have just one thing to say and it's fine if you don't listen to me, you're going to do what you're going to do... but, STAY ENGAGED until you're older. I think you're too young to get married, honestly.
I would hate for you to rush it and not truly, like, enjoy it. Because you'll feel like your wasting time up until you leave and are separated. You'll be like: Holycrapweonlyhavethismuchtimeleft and then you'll be all: WE ONLY HAVE THIS LONG LEFT.
You need to ENJOY the time you have now and not waste it with wedding preparation. I think if you wait you'll appreciate your wedding more. I mean, come on, you're engaged, you're obviously still bonded together... but yeah, just, wait... o_o Please.
I know that, personally, I'd probably be a bit mentally scared to tell people I'm "engaged" let alone "I'm married." I'd love to say I'm a "long term girlfriend" for a looooooooong time.
