Quote:
It had been a while since Adi'sa's conversation with the goddess in the Stargrove, and although he'd had ample opportunity to talk to his Elder...he just couldn't. He didn't feel quite at ease with anything that had been said. All that was on his mind was doubts and questions.

And this showed.

He was a little lacklustre for a few days, his friend Nili even avoiding him for his glum and untalkative attitude. He'd been walking all morning, pounding his paws to the ground as if he could somehow stamp out his doubts. It wasn't working. Eventually, he curled up beside the stream, looking into its running waters.

Quote:
It seemed that Adi'sa wasn't the only one who had been affected by the Goddess. She had left Tailsin somewhat confused and though by the end of their conversation the confusion had seemed to have gone it was still clear in her mind. Tailsin knew Adi would be able to help her and so had decided to go and find him. He was the only one she knew she could trust to go to about anything.

However she didn't expect to find him in the state she did. She saw his body curled up by the stream and she lowered her head a little. Why was he so sad? Maybe it was because she was so confused at the moment but something stopped her bounding over to him. Instead she walked over and nuzzled his side softly.

"Whats wrong Adi?" She spoke softly, allowing herself to look at the reflections of them both in the water. He looked so sad, she didn't like seeing him like this.

Quote:
He'd been so deep in thought that he hadn't heard her approach. He did, however, feel the gentle nuzzle to his side and he almost jumped into a state of waking. He gasped a little, with a smirk on his face, laughing at his own ease of being startled.

"Oh...its you Tailsin," he said with a genuinely warm smile. His troubles weren't so bad that he'd not smile at his good friend.

He got up to stretch briefly, unaware of how long he'd been sat down and looking at the water. His neck was a bit stiff, so he gave his great mane a big shake to loosen up a bit. His focus was then back on Tailsin.

"Oh...nothing really...it'll pass..." he answered her after a brief pause to think. "Just got to get my head around some new duties..."

Quote:
Tailsin hadn't expected him to jump and it startled her a little though she tried hard not to show it. She just let a smile cross her face as he did. She didn't believe him in the slightest but then again, maybe he had met the Goddess, she said she had something to ask of him and he mentioned new duties?

"I met a friend of yours." Change of subject - good plan!

"She was rather yellow and had these rather large wings. Anyway she is having cubs and asked if I wanted to help with them! I can teach them how to hunt and things!" She smiled, sounding alot more cheerful!

"Lots of cubs to play with, won't it be great!" She just smiled, what else was there to do? She hoped it would cheer up her friend a little. He looked so sad.

"She also confused me somewhat..." Tailsin just smiled, though she did have questions that she wished to ask but he didn't look like he was in the mood for such things.

Quote:
Tailsin had met the Goddess!? Adi looked a little stunned, his mouth slightly agape, as she recounted her meeting and what was said. This gave him a whole lot more to consider, but then it hit him - Tailsin had been asked to help too! This was wonderful! It still didn't take away the growing ache in his gut about his Elder's future demise, but it certainly eased the weight on his shoulders.

In his musings, he caught Tailsin's question and felt it better to answer her first but telling him about his duties too. His whole demeanour had changed though and he looked more cheerful already.

"Yes...I do know Mana...I spoke to her only a few days ago actually. But what are you confused about?"

Quote:
Tailsin smiled, oh look Adi was already looking so much better! This was a good thing and she started to become a little more cheerful herself. She was also glad the goddess had found Adi though she wondered somewhat if that was why he was so sad.

"Oh well you see..." He was going to regret asking her what she was confused about.

"I was talking to her about you and she said something that well confused me. You see I told her that your like my family because I trust you and stuff and she was like sounds like you like him and not as a friend maybe even stronger than that. I don't understand. Adi what did she mean?" She looked ever so innocent as she asked Adi the question. It was one that would probably make him feel somewhat uncomfortable but at the same time she didn't know that. She honestly didn't know what the Goddess had meant.

Quote:
Adi has been expecting her to ask about what the Goddess had asked him to do or some such, so he was caught totally off-guard with this strange question. It wasn't helped by Tailsin's unique and somewhat childish re-telling of the conversation. Was he...blushing? Did he understand what Mana had meant or was he just as clueless as Tailsin?

"Stronger than a friend...? Well...must be like you said, like family," he mused out loud, no other possibilities crossing his mind. At least for the time being. He even scratched his head with a paw in confusion. "Did she say anything else?"

Quote:
Tailsin looked thoughtful for a moment.

"Yes she did. She said something about you being free in that aspect when she said erm.. what was it. Something like well if you want him as a friend then erm... he is free in that aspect. Whats that aspect mean?" Tailsin was confused.

She really wanted to know it had confused her a lot and it seemed to now confuse Adi. Oh were all Goddesses this confusing because Tailsin really didn't like being confused.

Adi blinked at her. Free? Well, he'd always assumed he'd been free, he'd never been slave to anything but the spirits incessant gossip and chatter. This was a hopeless cause. Adiw as clueless as was Tailsin. This could be a long debate.

"How very odd," he said, furrowing his brow and looking like he was trying to think hard about this. "Mana seemed rather straightforward with me. But she had something specific to give to me. Maybe she was talking about spending time or something? I know Elder Tawa'di spends a lot of time with her, so I have a bit more free time. At the moment anyway...? Or maybe because Elder will be busy I'll have more 'space' for friends..."

He continued to muse and then shrugged his shoulders, still baffled.

Quote:
Now for anyone looking at the two they would probably find this conversation hyseterical! Tailsin just watched as Adi seemed to get just as confused. Well maybe he wasn't the one to ask about these things. She listened to him musing but then again it didn't seem to really make much of a difference. He was as lost as she was.

"Oh well, maybe there is someone else who will know." She didn't believe she was about to say this but then again Tailsin did hate being confused.

"What about your bird friend? We could go and ask her... Though don't tell her I suggested it!" She quickly added the last bit. After all she wasn't about to let this thing make it seem like she liked the strange and evil bird!

Quote:
Ah, now that was an idea! Nili was much older than the both of them, and had certainly had her fair share of life experience. She would definitely know. Now it was a just a case of knowing if she'd wanna talk again after being bored to death of Adi's same problems for the past few days.

"Hmm, she should be roosting for a bit..." he said as he took a quick look at the sky to see what time of day it was. "Come on, lets go find her nest."

Adi'sa was now as eager to get this confusion straightened out as Tailsin was, and it wasn't even his confusion!

Quote:
Tailsin nodded. She wasn't keen on the bird but she did accept that the bird had brains and that was enough for her to go and see her. She was also glad Adi would know where she was.

"Lead the way then!"

She smiled, more because she was going to be spending more time with Adi and how she loved walking with him even if it was to find the evil bird of doom!

Adi did as requested and took the lead, heading back towards his den, knowing Nili nested not far from him. Today though, she was busy cleaning his den, acting like an interfering mother. She carried shed fur and twigs and all manner of things from his den and made a pile outside.

As Adi arrived, his face shifted to that of puzzlement again.

"Nili? What...what are you doing?" he asked, peeking into his own den, actually a little fearful to confront the busy-body.

She suddenly flew from the darkness, more twigs and fur in her beak. She dropped them onto the pile before speaking.

"I am cleaning, what does it look like?" she chided him and flew back in the den

Quote:
Tailsin followed and as they reached Adi's den she rolled her eyes. No time for small talk they needed the bird to explain something.

"Adi!!" She called as she then pushed past him into his den.

"We need your advice a Goddess has confused us both and maybe you will understand her criptic language." She then went on to explain to the bird what she had said to Adi and hoped that the small bird would understand because Tailsin needed to know. The confusion was driving her crazy!

Quote:
Adi just watched as two strong-willed females were about to clash. This could get messy, especially with Tailsin as determined as she was, and Nili with a one-track mind at the moment.

The bird, surprised to see the audacious female enter her ward's den, didn't stop for anything. She continued her cleaning but was actually listening. She entered the den again but this time didn't start picking up wayward bits of debris. She just sat on the ground and looked up at Tailsin. Adi was still loitering around the den entrance. Nili checked to make sure he was just out of earshot.

"Are you really so confused? The goddess was talking about relationships dear," she replied with a smile, a friendly tone. She wasn't going to be patronising in thi instance. It was serious if neither of them knew what was going on.

"Adi'sa has also been charged with taking care of the Goddess' cubs, but more in a 'big brother' role. However, I imagine the Goddess was worried that you'd take it to mean something different, as if she was interested in Adi'sa in a more romantic fashion," she perched atop Tailsin's head and spoke directly into her ear. "What she means is that Adi'sa is free to pursue for a relationsip."

Quote:
Tailsin was surprised that the bird was so polite and somewhat grateful though she was still confused.

"But.... " Tailsin didn't know what to say. There wasn't anything to say in response to that. She just looked from the bird to Adi and then again back to the bird. It was really confusing.

Did she say that Tailsin liked Adi in a romantic way? Is that even possible? Ah so confusing.

Quote:
"But...?" she pressed further, ruffling her feathers atop Tailsin's head. "It might not even be true, but that is what the Goddess thought."

Meanwhile, Adi continued to lurk, half-expecting Tailsin to suddenly entrap his avian friend in her jaws.

Quote:
Tailsin looked at the bird and shook her head. She wasn't even sure what liking someone romantically even meant! Sure she adored Adi and most likely loved him but she didn't know thats what the feelings were called!

"I don't know...." Was her reply.

"What do you think? Oh wise bird?" She was trying to move the question over just because she didn't want to answer it. She didn't know how to answer it!
PostPosted: Mon May 05, 2008 12:54 am

Quote:
"Wise bird?" Nili had to chuckle. She could have been cruel and steered Tailsin in a most embarrassing direction.
But she wasn't going to.

"Listen, don't spend time fretting over this. I'm sure the Goddess' intentions were pure in what she was saying. If she believed there was a relationship between you two, she wouldn't want to jeopardise it. At the same time, if its made you think about Adi in a new light...just let time run its course."
Nili sort of patted Tailsin's head with a wing.

Quote:
Tailsin tried to look up at the bird but couldn't. Oh how annoying.

She looked to Adi and tilted her head somewhat in a questioning look. She wanted to ask his thoughts on it but the words wouldn't come out of her mouth it was really really annoying!

Nili chuckled in a bird-like way, chattering and tittering

"Its supposed to be confusing dear, love and relationships are never easy."

Quote:
"Love?" Tailsin now stared at Adi.

"Do you mean Adi loves me?" She was again talking to the bird on her head and in a way that was kind of like Adi not even being there. She was confused. Of course she had never been in love before so knowing thats what she felt seemed a little strange to her.
PostPosted: Mon May 05, 2008 1:08 am

Quote:
"Well, I wouldn't know. Only Adi knows if he loves you," she laughed.
Nili actually made herself more comfortable on Tailsin's head, shuffling about and patting her feet on her head.
"Do you love him?"

Quote:
Tailsin was a little annoyed at the lack of input from Adi now but she then again she was also annoyed that she couldn't see up and see the bird that was on her head.

"How am I suppose to know?"

Quote:
"Well, its different for everyone dear. Some just know when they're in love, its things like thinking about them whenever they're not around, or loving every little flaw and defect as much as their good points," she tried to explain in as motherly a way as possible.

Nili started to take the hint and finally flew down from Tailsin's head back to the ground, so they could at least talk eye to eye.

Quote:
Tailsin was glad the bird was finally off her head and nodded as she listened. Okay fine maybe she did love Adi but she wasn't going to admit it right in front of him now was she!

"Uh huh."
PostPosted: Mon May 05, 2008 1:18 am

Quote:
Nili smiled...well, what passed for a smille on a beak anyways.

"Like I said, love is not meant to make sense, and its always best to take it easy. It'll be a moment when you both realise it," she chirupped, then began picking up the alst of the twigs and fallen fur.

Meanwhile, Adi'sa had kept a respectful distance at the entrance of his den. Althought that didn't stop him trying to listen in with all his might.

Quote:
Tailsin just nodded. "If you say so."

She then turned to Adi and bounded over to him, pouncing at him in her normal fashion. She couldn't help but wonder if he had heard anything that was said though she didn't ask.

Quote:
Nili smiled to herself as Tailsin left the den. Oh this would turn out to be an interesting turn of events.

Adi shumbled to look natural as Tailsin re-appeared, pretending as though he'd never been listening. He hadn't actually heard much of what was said, and the bits and pieces he did hear didn't make sense anyway.

"So, feel satisfied with whatever Nili had to say?" he asked, flinching as she pounced him.

Quote:
Tailsin chuckled and tried to pin Adi down, nuzzling him a little. "Possibly." She giggled and got off him thinking about what she had just heard and looking at Adi there was no doubt in her mind that Nili was right. She did love Adi more then she could possibly begin to explain.
