So who here likes to swim?

1.Why
2.How long have you been swimming
3.Where you swim
4.When you swim and who you swim with

...If you don't know how to swim...

1.Would you like to learn? Why or why not?

And...

Do you think swimming is a useful skill?

Wasn't really expecting a survey on this one, but oh well.

1) It feels nice and relaxing.
2) Since I was five or six... but I haven't been swimming for about two years.
3) Public pools.
4) Usually in summer or spring, with a small handful of friends.

1. It's.. fun? I'm s**t at it though.
2. I learnt when I was little. They had programs in school which basically every kid was part of.
3. The pool.
5. I swim in the summer and I go with my friends. I don't go often though.

1. Well I'd like to say for some meta physical, philosophical reason, but that would be a lie... its to look at hot girls in very very tight and clingy outfits... which in turn is also a lie, I do it mainly for the physical and cardio vascular benefits.
2.About 5 years
3. lakes, pools, puddles.
5. On my own

1.Would you like to learn? Why or why not?-Yes I would like to learn, but there's no place around to swim except the one small public pool, and I don't wanna learn there because 1 I'll embarress myself and it's always very crowded when it's open and I don't like to be around alot of people like that,2 I'm not comfortable with my body and don't exactly want people to see me in a swimsuit right now..>_>

And...

Do you think swimming is a useful skill?Maybe, but probably not in my case seein g as there's really no water around here.

I love to swim. Being in the water is something I've been fond of all my life.

1. I enjoy swimming because when with people it's a blast; when alone, it's relaxing; all the time it's good exercise.

2. I've been a water fiend all my life; I pretty much figured out the basics of swimming pretty young - not sure of the age; was given actual lessons when I was 14 - we were required to take pool class in freshman year.

3. I prefer to swim in private swimming pools or the ocean. Lakes smell like shite, and public pools are revolting.

4. I usually swim with my brother. He just so happens to be the most consistent person present I'm given the opportunity to hop in the water.

I think this was a question for the people who can't swim, but I believe it's a highly useful skill. I wouldn't call myself proficient at it, but in the event that my life depended on it I at least can maneuver pretty well in the water.

1. dont know i fell better in the water sometimes, not as much as I use to, but i just like it.
2. since i was five learned this way jump in and start flapping.
3. local pool but i rember the days i use to swim in the lakes of jamestown Kentucky.
4. I swim when i just feel like it, I usually swim with my girlfriend or by myself.

I do think swimming is a useful skill, it could end up being a matter of survival.

I love swimming, it's really relaxing to me.
I have a pool built into my backyard, so I used to swim there untill it broke...now I just swim at other people's houses or at public pools.
I usually swim with my friends, or my sister.

1. Gets me some good exercise and it's fun to race against my friends.

2. I have been swimming for like seems forever.

3. The public pool or my friends lake.

4. Whenever the weather is warm outside or I go to the community center. I usually go with either my older sister or my friends.

Swimming is a useful skill and you may never know when it may come in handy.

Oooh, I love swimming so damn much. Goes along with my nickname 'fish' I guess lol. I just never get the time to swim since I have work, and more important things to spend money on.

I do have my eyes set on a new swimsuit, tho. It's a dark blue/purple iridescent two piece heart

Swimming rocks. It's so much fun! I love lying on my back in the water. It's so relaxing!
I've been swimming for ages. Everyone has to do it all through primary school, so everyone knows how to swim.
I haven't swum at the beach for ages. I usually just swim in pools.
I swim whenever. For summer, my neighbour and two of my aunts have pools. For winter, I can just go to an indoor pool. Woot!

Swimming is an invaluable skill!

I dislike being in the sun, (the sensation of sun on my skin is the feeling which comes before horrible pain) and hate the smell and feel of chlorine. But being in water is a very nice feeling, moving in it can be quite fun.
I never learned how to swim properly. I can move through the water, like I said, but with no particular skill or grace. I never go deeper than my shoulders, because I cannot keep my head above the water unless my feet are touching the bottom.
My family swims sometimes, and I'll go out into the water with them, but I never go deeper than my shoulders.
I have no real interest in learning how to swim because if one does not live or work near bodies of water, it is not a useful skill.

Why is there no number four?

1. it's a natural feeling to be immersed in water when the weather is above warm, very cooling and relaxing.
2. a very long time...
3. i've had the pleasure of swimming in the ocean, a freshwater lake, various rivers and creeks, sometimes a pool...
4. my favorite time to swim is at night, when the water is warm and the evening air is slightly cool on a cloudless sky with the stars shining brightly. There's a sweet serenity to just floating on one's back and looking out into the cosmos and realizing just how small and insignificant one is...sometimes, it's nice to have someone else to float beside, another ship in the night...but for the most part, i enjoy the solitude.

swimming is a very useful skill, near akin to breathing and eating it is...
